The Marigaux 901 is THE MOST BEAUTIFUL oboe period. The most incredible tone of all oboes I've ever heard. If you don't believe me, just listen to Celine Moinet playing Schuman's 3 Romances.
I switched from Loree to Marigaux and have never regretted it. The tone color is very warm, and has no bright character like a Loree has. Very even scale with mellow dark tone that really sings.

I don’t know how to explain this... but your tone has so much complexity and simplicity. A true oboe sound.

I have tried some older Marigaux oboes and hated them. Recently, I tried a newer one (not sure which model), and loved it!
