I've got 5 k on a new set of Duratrac'sRT" P255/75R17 115 load index on a Gladiator Max Tow. Just did a trip to out and back to the mid west through all types of winter driving conditions and am quite pleased with how they performed. We have the old style Duratrac's on our JKU and happy with those too. I find the RT"s quieter and confidence inspiring in all conditions.
The P255/75R17 115 is 32"tall and 10"wide. Weight is 44 lbs per tire vice 56 lbs for the LT version. The Max Tow calls for a 112 load rating, so good for factory rating and my use. No real need for a LT tire with the new 3 ply sidewalls and 3 PK Snow rating being g the same. Averaged 20 mpg on winter gas.
i rarely make parts changes to my 4runner anymore but i still always drop in for your reviews because they're so authentic and thorough. solid stuff man.
Great review! I just did a review on my 4 door Bronco and love them! Like you said, can't wait to see how they perform after 10k miles on them. So far so good!
Duratracs are the best tire I’ve ever used in the snow minus a 100% dedicated snow tire. Just happily ordered a $1700 set with studs, to make sure I’m dialed this winter with the snow here in north Idaho.
My dad bought a new 88 Chevy silverado 4x4 that came with Wrangler AT's & those things lasted to 80k miles, I had a set of the original MT's on a Jeep CJ they survived to 50k miles which for a mud tire was impressive.
My Duratracs I bought in 2018, They see most of their use on my yearly October hunting trips. They get used hard in Northern Nevada. I still have deep tread depth but this last hunting season they really started to deteriorate. Not sure I trust them for next year. The compound I believe is the same so I can pretty confidently say they are good for about 6 years before they give it up.
Do you have stock gears? Building a rig out right now and planning on running 285/75/r17. I want to give the new KO3 a try. 4.88s are the plan with the added weight and tire size but interested in what other ppl have to say.
I’ve noticed most of the bonus of the “hybrid tires” comes from the compound…..it’s softer than a dedicated mud or all terrain and gives above average grip but the cost is reduced tread life and exaggerated cutting/chipping…..so this leaves another question to answer and that is are the flashy designs and marginally better grip worth the reduction in longevity?? If you look at cost per mile the answer is NO…..if you are like 95% of the current consumers who rarely puts a tire on the dirt but wants to ride the latest trend (literally) then the hybrid tire is your thing……serious or full time off roading users see the smoke in the mirror and we will still choose a dedicated all or mud terrain depending on our needs…..with all that said the Goodyears have a reputation of extremely hard (long lasting) compounds…..their sidewalls have been a point of serious discussion particularly the duratrac flavor…..but overall the compound is known to last a good while….the new 3ply upgrade should bring the sidewalls up to par hopefully……will they be the next Toyo m/t or nitto trail grappler?? Probably not but time will tell.
Interesting take. I got around 50k out of the Toyo MY and was incredibly pleased with that tire though I inly got about 25k with the toyo rt trail so you may be on to something. That said Id take an MT or KO2 over any if these hybrid tires Ive ran so far.
@ I think the companies are catching on to the trend of spending money on looks vs function so they invented the “hybrid” tire with medium/soft compounds to capitalize…..I consistently got 50-60k out of Toyo M/T on ford f250 trucks with about 70% of life being highway miles……I ran 2 sets of mud grapplers to around 50k…..the current set are recon grapplers with about 5k on them and so far they are holding up well as I’ve recently moved to an area where 60% of our roads are dirt/gravel/clay…..I think I should get at least 50k out of them but time will tell…..I had a few sets of ko2 and they are definitely a stout tire structurally but never could offer the traction I wanted so I tried a set of the km2 and liked them but the compound didn’t offer the mileage I expected…..Nitto/toyo really has the market cornered as far as a dedicated mt or at tire but the hybrid category is hard to judge…..I think the Goodyear will be a good tire with the much needed 3 ply sidewall upgrade and if the compound is like the old version they should last a while
tough ask, so far, compared to to KO2 or Maxxis Razor AT or any other top tier tyre you tried, how is this 7/10 comparing LFL? Have to get a new set and I’m either waiting for KO3s or getting this Duratracs, which are available now at local Shops. Any help appreciated 🫡
As of right now with the experience Ive got with tires If I had to spend $1000+ on tires I would go with the KO2. If these dura tracs last 40k+ then I would add them to the recommended list.
dude you are one of the most legit youtubers out there. you are actually out there doing it every day! badass

Thanks man!!
Goodyear got their money out of this review! Great content. Goodyear should sponsor a trip to some snow!

Thanks for the honest review!
I have confidence in your reviews. Thank you for being honest and transparent. No one drives a 4Runner harder than you 👍💪🇺🇸
Sweet sweater! Reminds me of the the Mexican blanket Clint Eastwood wore in good the bad and the ugly.
They look good
This tire has been on my list

I run these duratrac rt’s 285/75/17 e ply on my gx470. They are loud in my opinion. I have front bumper so air hits em head on.

Yeah I have stock gears. I really like the skinny 33s on this platform. The gears would help out a ton hopefully I can get them one day.
What gear were you in at the sand dunes?
4lo for the most part
Hey sir, you didnt try them in mud. How do these new goodyear duratrac rt works in deep mud?
Haven’t had a chance to try them in mud yet
Where did you find the rear window shade my man?
The window covers are from Overland Gear Guy
Do these ride hard / bumpy and how do they compare to the Falken AT4W on a lighter toyota type truck if anyone knows
