PICK THE BOKS BACKS | With JUAN DE JONGH | LIVE FROM THE BUSH

- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 30 มิ.ย. 2024
- It's Game week for the July Tests, and on the final day of Craven Week I grabbed former Springbok Juan De Jongh, who knows a thing or two about backline play, to select his backline for the Boks to play Ireland.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also...you can catch up with my trip into the Bush. And found out about the Simbavati River Lodge, and their other amazing properties at www.simbavati.com. - กีฬา
Thank you for promoting this beautiful country of ours. Guest are always welcome.
Except for white south africans apparently.
What you on about ? 😂@user-fp6rn2km4i
@@user-fp6rn2km4iwhat are you talking about racist?
I see Eggchasers upload, I click. Inject this content straight into my veins.
Hi Tim we know its a rugby channel but as a South African we absolutely love the travel content in between just watching you enjoy and appreciate our country is a joy so keep it coming.
Not only is the content great but watching you enjoy our country is so good to see.
RSA let's take care of this beautiful place
Absolutely love the fact that you're getting to experience our beautiful country. Enjoy every minute.
Thanks for your kind words about our country Tim. At this rate, you may soon know what we know... 🙂
Nothing better than an early morning bush ride...everything smells better, i.e. coffee, the sky clearer, etc...
Ooh, I can see the tranquility of the African bush hitting you hey. Enjoy it. Breath the smells, the earth, the trees everything. Thanks for your videos.
Tim. Hopefully you've seen why we love our Country so much💚💛🇿🇦
That’s why so many Poms come here on holiday and either don’t go home, or go home, sell up and return like my folks did in the 60’s never regretting the move! It’s an unbelievable country, amazing people and a culture unlike anything else on the planet. So privileged, as an Englishman born, to call South Africa my home…truly blessed and grateful! 🇬🇧🙏🏻🇿🇦♥️ Bokke!! 🏉💪🇿🇦
Seeing a leopard is the golden prize because they are very people shy.

You are a gentleman sir and a true ambassador of world rugby. I trust that you will enjoy your stay here in our country. We are honoured to have you here.
Best Rugby channel in my opinion.
Spotting a leopard is such a special sighting. Very elusive and rarely look as comfortable with vehicles around as they do in the video! Lived here my whole life and only ever seen 4 of em!
When you are down in the Cape and inevitably head to Hermanus i will be happy to take you out to Kayak with some of the most diverse marine life in the world.
Hey Tim, I hope you are enjoying your time in SA, it great to have you here. Keep the content coming
I am so happy you have been able to experience the bush, Tim. You will have memories until the day you die. It is such a privilege that we enjoy here. It's truly great to have you here, and I am sure all your Saffa followers would love to see you back here frequently.
I love seeing overseas visitors enjoying our beautiful country! Soak it up Tim!
Can hear the bush vibes in your voice, Tim. Magical place, makes a day feel like a week.
Hope you'll get to enjoy a few braais around the fire mate. Not in town but somewhere in the bush, with all kinds of animal sounds in the background. It's always a great experience when you sit around the camp fire and then shine a light into the bush ... just to see ten yellow eyes of five lions staring back at you! 🦁🦁🦁🦁🦁
Ah Tim - the serenity and majesty, actually, of those moments you shared with that Elephant family whilst they were drinking is a rare privilege - and then you even got to see a Leopard - wow - an even rarer privilege - not to mention the Rhino's - enjoy to the fullest as we close in on the first Test at Loftus....
Thank you Tim. Glad you enjoying yourself in South Africa
Cheers from Durban 🙏🙏
As usual, seeing it from your eyes is a reminder - Thank you Tim! Enjoy!
White became wide - just like "wyd kant" 😅😂
Lmao😂👏
Beat me to it! 😂😂😂
Was about to say...😂
Ooo bush 15...sure I saw something like this once before:
15. Cheetah
14. Impala
13. Blou Wildebeest
12. Lion (Crash ball, anyone?)
11. Springbok

8. Buffalo (Blou Buffel)
7. Wild Dog
6. Honey Badger
5. Giraffe 1
4. Giraffe 2
3. Hippo
2. Rhino
1. Elephant
World class tight 5.
Can we put a Kudu at 15, and move the Cheetah to 14
Not bad, but I would like to see one or two more Lions in that 15!
nice only change the honey burger for hyena at 9, even thou Badgers are tiny attack lions, leopards. reminds me of faf.
@@mfp4136Wait. You send the impala to the bench so the kudu gets the start? That’s nuts. And what’s your bomb squad look like? I’m sure there’s room for an Ox in the front row….and a quagga in the loose.
1. Elephant
2. Rhino
3. Hippo
4. Giraffe
5. Eland
6. Lion
7. Wildebeest
8. Kudu
9. Monkey
10. Baboon
11. Cheetah
12. African wild dog
13. Leopard
14. Ostrich
15. Springbok
I agree but will move Lion to 12 to make space for a jackal that can steal the scraps on the ground
Oh and a warthog on the bench
No Springboks in the Kruger!
2. Warthog
Spot on beginning team, the bench, 19 Jackall, 20 Warthog, 21 Hayena, 22 Buffalo, 23 African Python to give the final choke
Thanks for keeping us in touch with all the great characters in the Rugby game. And avoiding the studio speak of others.
Enjoy the bush and the wildlife. And the braai, the wine, the girls (look only) and the rugby.
Tim, the bush (Kruger) is a majestic place - every time I have gone to the Kruger I get a sense of how insignificant I really am in this universe! It is utterly humbling! Bear in mind that I live by the ocean! The bush beats the ocean for me hands down!
True and lovely comment.
Great interview with Juan dJ, thanks Tim. Enjoy, from the bush to Loftus on Saturday. What a ride.
Juan Direction. He was a good player for us back in the day at Stormers - didn't take the step so well to Springboks but still rate him because not everyone can make that step.
So enjoy your channel - So pleased your ab le to see the very best place on earth The African Bush just spectacular - Living abroad I miss the beauty of the African bush
One of the best country in the world in terms of nature. Just hour drive out of the busy polluted cities and we have reservations with wild animals to enjoy over a weekend (or the coast and beautiful beaches).
Welcome to my home Tim...You're not far from I stay. Hoedspruit is 90km from Tzaneen.
My team as a Game ranger:
1. Elephant
2. Black Rhino (most aggressive of the two)
3. Buffalo
4. Giraffe
5. Eland
6. Honeybadger
7. Wild Dog
8. Hippo (we all know how fast these bad boys are!)
9. Warthog
10. Lion
11. Cheetah
12. Leopard
13. Kudu
14. Tsessebe
15. Baboon
I would swap Honeybadger and Warthog around and put in Wildebeest at 15. Great shout for hooker
I'm a simple man, I see Eggchasers Rugby, I click like!
Just enjoy Tim, nothing like the bush! lucky to spot a leopard during the day!
Hi Tim, glad to see that you have an awesome time in South Africa. You are in one of the best places in South Africa. Enjoy!! Regards.
The province you're on is a Magical place and a paradise for nature lovers.
It's incredible! I try to get to Limpopo as often as possible. It's difficult from Cape Town being so far but always try to make it happen. It's not only the amazing bush and wildlife but also the people! Salt of the earth and some of the best humans I have known!
@@karen12322 He’s in Mpumalanga. The lodge he's staying in is very close to the Limpopo/Mpumalanga border. That region surrounding the Kruger is awesome, there's so much natural beauty and serenity there.
I enjoyed this vid! SA is an amazing Country. Enjoy your bush visit Tim. Having the Elephant family so close by is truly a rare blessing... Looking forward to Loftus on Sat. 🇿🇦
Gotta have a Kwagga at flank ;)
Welcome to our country Tim, we wish you have a most unforgettable exprience!
Africa creeps in your heart it never leaves.
Ostriches can kick- owl as ref as long as it's a night game
Ok bush 15:
Elephants propping
Rhino hooker
Giraffes at lock
Crocodiles at flank
Hippo number 8
Monkey at scrumhalf
Lion at flyhalf (star of the show)
Cheetah and, of course, springbok on the wings
Leopard inside centre
wildebeest outside centre
Vulture at fullback
Hyenas off the bench to pick off the tired and weak opposition
Hyena comment cracked me up😂😅😂😅
@@jeanm27same 😂😂😂... but he's right though. That and the scrumhalf, the nuisance of the team, monkey see, monkey do and worse 😂
Spot on, just one change…Honeybadger at 9!
Glad you got to see some game also 😂🎉🎉
Thank you very much for your very interesting videos. I can't wait for each episode. It is really awsome to have you visiting South Africa. Pitty you don't come to Cape Town too. But there is also scope for another visit. Just one correction, Juan de Jongh mentioned that the Craven Week was started by the late Dr Danie Craven. It was actually started by the late Jan Preuyt, a teacher from Port Rex Technical High School in East London in 1964. Jan Preuyt was chairman of Border Schools Rugby . He later became the president of South African Schools Rugby Association. The first tournamenyt was held in East London. It was named after the Legendry Dr Danie Craven.
Nice promo for SA tourism. Thanks mate
Post some images of the rooms at SIMBAVITI - blow people's minds
My Safari Side
1. White Rhino (Powerful, far quicker than you think although somewhat jolly.)
2. Black Rhino (Like a white rhino, but NOT jolly)
3. Hippo (never see them until they start wrecking stuff.)
4. Elephant (pure power. The actual boss of the rugby field. Eben, Bakkies, Martin Johnson)
5. Giraffe (Victor, John Eales)
6. Hyena (relentless, ruthless, but good-natured off the ball)
7. Lion (Speed, power, aggression)
8. Cape Buffalo (The nastiest thing to bump into in a tight spot. Coming off the back of the scrum, that's a nightmare)
9. Honey Badger (smart, quick, ferocious in short bursts, but always starting fights the full-size humans need to fix)
10. Zebra (Dazzle and speed when under pressure. Relies on his kick to stay in the team)
11. Black Mamba (you don't see it until it ruins your day.)
12. Leopard. (hugely powerful and violent. Doesn't like to share)
13. Gemsbok / Oryx (unbelievable speed in a large body. Rapier horns, can take a gap and can run for days)
14. Cheetah (For obvious reasons.)
15. Kudu (Graceful, kicks well, covers lots of ground quickly. Mean swerve and can jump like you cannot believe)
Yea fastest snake on earth and in the top of venom and very agressive...
Hi Sir, please bear in mind like any other country we have crime and poverty in South Africa but this is an incredible place. Hope you enjoy the best of our country and it's people and nature

Tim...I'm chuffed to bits you're having a good time in my home country. Like you, I reside in Lancashire now for my sins...wish I was there!
Hi Tim, it's wonderful to see how you relax and drinking in every moment. As a SA, we need to escape to the bush sometimes to keep us humble, to realize how small our problems are and how overwhelming the creation is. Enjoy every moment
I thought you would say you say #11 jersey belongs to the cheetah all day every day seeing that speed on open space is what they do best, lovely vid😎
Glad you're enjoying our country Tim.
Awesome to see Juan as well.
Are you going to get to Brannas?
There is nothing quite like viewing leopards, lions and elephants from an open vehicle for the first time. Timbavati is a great pick for a safari and I am sure you are going to have a wonderful time. So glad you have had a great leopard sighting.
Lol Tim from that camper van in France to the real camper Safari experience in South Africa, love it, hope you have a blast, looking forward to seeing what you get up to next🎉
Hi Tim I see you enjoy breathing some high quality fresh around the bush the aroma from the acasia trees will slowly lower highblood n stress just by sitting under their shade😊😊

So glad to see you enjoying your time in South Africa. You are so welcome here.
And just like that Africa is in your blood Tim and you will feel the yearning when you return to the UK I felt 18 years in London to sit around a "hardekool" bush braai again :)
Bush 15 sounds fun. Go Tim
Lekker Tim, luv to have you in our great country and just wanna wish you great and safe travels my buddy. Enjoy everything my man.
Tim, you are a legend. And you’re right, SA is an incredible country. Enjoy the wildlife. Have you posted a braai vid yet? Great chat with one of my favorite ex-Stormers Juan de Jongh. I have a vague memory of a fantastic try against Wales for the Boks over a dozen years ago. Nice video!
Hey Tim, ask them to show you the Small 5 and not only the Big 5 🙂 trust me you’ll thank me later
You are immensely fortunate to see a leopard, and more so a leopard with a kill!
Love your wildlife 15, although agreeing with others that African wild dogs and hyenas belong in there for their stamina and tenacity
Happy to have you here, enjoy
Once again, ecstatic you made it! Glad you are connecting with the right places, occasions and wildlife and then people! Enjoy so glad you made it... Well deserved
Hi Phillip here! I met you briefly at the Craven week. Thanks again for the great content. I really enjoy your point of views and I am glad you are enjoying our beautiful country so far! Can't wait for this weekend! It's gonna be epic and you'll see, there's not a lot of other places on the planet where you will experience a similar atmosphere as Fort Loftus. You will understand what we SAFFERS mean by saying, "They don't know what we know!" after this test series and the later the year against the AB's!
We love you❤🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
Enjoy it bru!
Tim, mark my words. Like many, you too are going to fall in love with South Africa. And you will be back!!
Enjoy our country. Travel safe. And God bless.
Tim....your are such an amazing ambassador for SA....you rock!
That elephant is looking at you……he’s sizing you up for lunch…….
So lucky to see a leopard on your first trip. It took me 20 years and many different parks before I finally saw a leopard in the wild
@Eggchasers Rugby. Hope you enjoying your stay mate! You are very lucky. I live in Sa and have never unfortunately been to see wildlife up close as you have. Have a nice one and stay safe !
Legend,Tim. Love your work. Thanks for showing so much love to SA.
Hey Tim. So chuffed you’re enjoying SA. Thanks again for the brilliant, balanced content 🤙🏼
Nice to see you here in my hometown, Krugersdorp.
Thank u for promoting country and rugby dont be a stranger come back
Has to be a Staffordshire Bull Terrier in the team. Think Jock of the Bushveld. Totally fearless. A Legend!
Tim there is nothing like the bush! Enjoy every moment mate. Good content and good pics.
Glad to see you enjoying our glorious SA Tim and I'm pleased to see you are being hosted so well!
I think you should move the rhino to loosehead and put the honey badger at hooker. It's incredibly tough, agile and completely fearless!! Some quick picks seem you asked, lion at 8, warthog at 9, Buffalo at 12, Sable at 13, Springbok at 11, cheetah at 14 👌👌
love the idea of a wild life 15! Hope your time gets better and better
Safari 15
Eight Elephants in the forwards, and a pride of seven Lions in the backs.
Man, I'm so happy for you. I hope South Africa will hold lasting memories for you.
Tim, enjoy the BEST South Africa has to offer : incredible wild life, great hospitality and world class rugby. Cheers mate. 🇿🇦🤝🏻🍻
Keep up the commentary on Rugby. Enjoy your channel immensely!! 😊
For 15 I'll choose a lion male for contolling the pack. Your leopard will be inside center, outside and wingers will be cheetahs for sure. Yip those elephants are looking serene, but like all this beauty comes a dangerous darkside just like general life in our country. But, you will go back refreshed and contemplate your life and life in general and will develop a new perspective and outlook of life, people and events.
Welcome to South Africa 🇿🇦🇿🇦
Awesome! Glad you're having a good time.
No 9 definitely honey badger!
100% agree - I reckon the honey badger is Faf's spirit animal
Tight head prop replacing Frans Malherbe....Elephant
Hooker replacing Eben...Rhino
Flyhalf replacing Pollard....Leopard
Lekker Tim 😂😂😂
Enjoy your stay 🎉
