    I think what makes our Springbok squad so great, is the fact that we are all home grown. Look at Japan as a comparison. Ego is also a huge factor as ego can make or break it. Eggchasers did a great job as well in his video.

      Meh that’s not really a good argument.. the ABs are great and they have players from 3 different countries consistently. And the boks have a lot of management who are not South African.. rugby is no 1 in SA it’s not in other countries. And you have a massive population

    This is what we as Springbok fans wanted for years and now finally we have created a blueprint for creating depth. There is alot of talent in the system and I'm hoping and praying we continue to use this blueprint.

    Brilliant insightful discussion; you and guys like MW Welman (Megafoon Sport et al) are ensuring bok fans are properly informed. Only snag is, we are sharing our rugby secrets with the world! Franco has already alluded to how SA rugby’s involvement up north has already changed the way all the Northern hemisphere countries are playing the game.

    So many good players are taken away from the Craven week . Good players by agents from overseas. How do we handle that .

    • @groenrizla2513
      @groenrizla2513 6 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      I would like to know many players from Craven week go play for overseas clubs and then end up playing for their adopted country? Paul Willemse being 1 example after 5 years to get his citizenship.
      Must be Scotland that represents the most SA players but would any of them realistically be selected for the Springboks anyway?
      If I remember correctly in the RWC23 the only countries that didn't have foreigners in their squad was SA and Argentina, and to me that's a healthy thing, of course we'll loose some to overseas and maybe I'm wrong but I don't think it's alot compared to the amount of players SA producers annually by Craven week.

    South Africa have 💯 % South African players plus a former springbok Rassie to coach them, hence why we have 4 RWC Gold.
    Ireland have Andy Farrel who was a league player. Ireland need an Irish legend to coach them and lose the foreign players. This may prove to a successful step to a first time semi

    This was a seismic shift in approach. SA always had too much talent, so why spend the time building up players when you have 5 replacements? Because talent is not enough.
    Also helping out kids from smaller schools is massive.
    Is something similar happening with coaches now? I assume with rassie it would be.

    Springboks almost the exactly same 23 for 8 years, I don't exactly think that's depth per say. We will play Pieter Steph when he's the best in the world (2019)and when he's garbage 2022.
    I don't really think we have depth like that. We just never switch it up much

      @@nox6885 That's very different to what I am referring to. Of course in any country you will find athletes who are good at more than one sport and will ultimately have to choose one. What I'm talking about is a sport such as Rugby League in Australia and NZ actively poaching the top schoolboy union talent because of their deeper checkbooks.

    • @acadoe
      @acadoe 6 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      That's a weird thing to point out. Limiting selections to local players is a choice of those countries, they don't have to do it. Also, Rugby league poaching union players is very much a YOU problem, it has nothing to do with SA. It's like me going on a Aus or NZ video and saying, well, you guys also have great economies, little poverty and a steady supply of electricity. Those are SA shortcomings, nothing to do with Aus and NZ rugby.

    wow, you are a GREAT rugby pundit, there is nobody like you in NZ or Au
    in NZ Young white players are very much in decline because a 60kg kid will come up against a 100 plus Polynesian kid at school and this is MISMATCH, in my day 1964 there were few Polynesians in NZ, now Auckland is the biggest Polynesian city in the world
    Sure some talented Caucasian kids survive and make the ABs, as flyhalf, but the depth of talent is poor as it is in Au. compared with S.A
