Tested this list out and found that you get a lot of dead hands even with the Xatu draw engine. Klara being the only energy recovery also hurts sometimes when you have to ditch energy early for ultra ball or research. It almost feels to me like trekking shoes would be helpful to get around the issue of not seeing enough cards. I also liked replacing Sqwauk with Mew ex since it provides a longer term draw engine and feel like less of a liability on the bench, plus it has the added benefit of being a nice surprise attacker. You can also find Mew with the crystal in a pinch.
squawk is probably the most important support card in the deck, just cause hitting multiple switching effects turn 1 to pull off turn 1 yoga loop is super important in this build. But I agree that there can probably be more done to make the deck more consistent past turn 1
I do think there are a few changes that could benefit the deck I think possibly cutting a town store for a collapsed would be useful to get rid of squawk and in my opinion I would cut a jet for a 3rd capsule
the problem with collapsed is that you basically always want a full bench. I would rather a Penny to pick up the squawk or a thorton to swap it with something in discard than running collapsed rn.
@@ongaard I’ve been play testing with a line up 1 collapsed 2 town store and 1 vaccum and it’s been really nice especially when you can make plays such as collapse away squawk vaccum the collapse and bench a valiant
Yes, obviously the list changes after rotation, but we build as optimally as we can for locals, challenges, cups and regionals until the cards leave the format.
So no joke, I can legit see this card getting banned for how oppressive it is, where it can win you the game turn 1 (if your opponent only got 1 mon with 60hp in the active), giving you an extra turn turn 1 if you went second, and being able to stop your opponent from being able to do much by constantly taking out their bench of weak mons, and worse, there's no way to negate this without a path to the peak. So yeah, this is a very oppressive card that's gonna force everyone to run counters just for it or play it, and that hurts the game far more than helps.
Yeah card is insane, I doubt it gets banned though because it does have some really losing matchups, Roaring moon and Mew are hard. But it is super oppressive.

I'm definitely considering 2 klara or 1 klara 1 tulip. 2/2 seems a bit much though

I think I'm going to try to sneak in a Bibbarel. Definitely a devolution tm card.
I dont think bibarel is necessary because you want to utilize your whole bench. But if it helps you have a consistent midgame, go for it.
@@ongaard yeah I might try both ways. You'll be running through a lot of item cards and could be drawing 3 or 4 cards every turn.
