As always I’m super honored to have edited this video for you!! 🐖 I was a bit afraid it wouldn’t live up to the Gholdengo video, but I hope everyone still enjoys it the same anyway! 🎉🎉
First time seeing one of your narrated videos like this. The level of detail given at each turn is SUPER helpful to a newer player like myself. Thank you for this content. Look forward to more like it.
Upon seeing that first attack, I knew Roaring Moon ex would go crazy everywhere. The _minute_ it got revealed, I made an expanded deck using it with Protection Cube. Until the actual set goes public, I’m stuck with proxies, but I know that I’ll be ready to go once I can get it!
I like emergency jelly over ancient booster. The plus 120 to get you from 30 to 150 might save you from a ko as opposed to having 90 hp which most basics and stage ones can hit. Edit: Also, ancient booster can be vacuumed while e-jelly uses itself the turn it's played
I was thinking about that too. I doubt it's actually viable, but I like the idea of healing with jelly back to 150 HP then attaching the ancient booster next turn to bump you to 210, allowing you to gouge a second time and live.
Combo jelly with garganacal (the stage two rock Pokemon) it has an ability that says heal 20 damage from each of your pokémon during pokémon checkup (between turns)
So roaring moon is basically gonna be a better option than miraidon ex in terms of the most aggressive deck in the format? This deck seems to have a more consistent start as well not needing to play out sheep's to become prey to Sableye and ninja while still retaining consistent energy acceleration. Also has the option to take advantage of Path better as it won't shut off ur search and draw options like it does in miraidon ex
I think the opposite. Miraidon is probably more consistent turn 1 to be able to fill up the bench and attack with raikou off of one generator. Roaring moon has higher damage potential but getting those 3 energy and a switch is less consistent. Also miraidon has forest seal stone and isn't relying on pokestop. I think any deck relying on pokestop is going to be less consistent but have more explosive turns when it hits.
Miraidon has the advantage in terms of setting up the board because of its ability. But in terms of energy acceleration, the new Sada and Earthen vessel combo is insane, it feels almost like Welder/Fire crystal from back in the day.
vitality band is so relevant right now helps roaring moon hit 230 consistently and a counter measure for iron hands and any other 230 hp basics like dragonite and entei v
Dude, this deck is so insane! I took your build, replaced the Escape Ropes and 2 Dark Energy with 4 Jet Energy, and replaced Penny, Judge and Mew ex with 3 Trekking Shoes...its ALL GAS ALL THE TIME and I love it!

Maybe someone can help me out. New to Pokemon, was dragged in by my nephew. So I been playing Pokemon TCG Live, and playing Roaring Moon deck and I'm confused. Calamity Storm does 100 damage and extra 120 for discarding stadium in play. So that's 220 damage, but I've noticed there are times where it does 400 damage. And it's not from the opponents weaknesses, I've checked. What's going on? Can't find explanation online.
Yo Andrew, I was curious what all the advantages of going first and going second are? Cause to me it doesn't really seem worth it to go first giving that whenever I see someone going second they almost always have a better, more explosive turn.
Going second, you can launch an attack and use Supporter cards, so I guess it can feel more explosive. For going first, you could potentially screw up your opponent's setup by playing something disrupting like Path of the Peak
@shiro2i3 yeah, I guess but pretty much every deck plays supporter cards whereas not as many decks play non-supporter disrupting decks. Like you could Marnie or Iono second turn but not first.
When you go first u will evolve pokemon before ur opponent. So probably u will setup first and get 2 prizes earlier and have the adv cause u will have evolved pokemon and ur opp not. Actually in the meta many decks plays evolved pokemons so go first will give you an adv. Of course depends of the deck. Miraidon for example can be pretty strong going second and hitting the first ko
I mean just how exactly do you put a block agains a Roaring Moon deck? Even lost box you are behind on prizes from turn 1 and running 4 battle vip you could have 3 moon by turn 3
Try this with protection cube from x and y- forgot which set exactly. Anyway, the tool stops you from damaging yourself with an attack which is insane with frenzied gouging. Meaning you take no damage from the attack.
Please try this combo Same setup as this deck but with Klawf and Morpeko With morpeko you can hit turn 1 going second with the dark patch and manual attach then you can transfer energy to either klawf or Roaring moon with klawf since it need to be affected by condition spicy curry burn will do the trick and a dte or the energy provided by morpeko will do. Spicy curry synergized well with ancient power booster since attach pkm wont get burn by it effect and heal 40 so roaring moon left with 130 hp after heal which is off range from Urshifu rs 120 bench snipe Klawf can turn 1 attack if possible for 170 and can go to 190 if possible as a side attacker for smaller deck and also counter miraidon as it hit for weakness.
How do you think it will fare against the likes of Gardy and LZB? Will it be like Miraidon against those? Only slightly more favores because of ancient capsule + dark type?
Lovely dynamic, as usual lovely video. You and Jessy always seem to have a great time 🙂 I look forward to see a deck with iron valiant, I'm gonna try and see how it works with lost engine 😀
If you're in a bad spot, it seems like a valid strategy to go for sudden death with this deck. Is there precedence for decks like this doing that in the past?
Is Toedscruel ex's ability a counter to Frenzied Gouging or no? Just wondering what's considered an effect of an attack. Or Frenzied Gouging classified as damage?
and to further expound on the question - the damage is how much damage is listed next to the attack plus whatever the attacks text box adds to it (like, roaring moon's 2nd attack that can add 100 damage for a location in play discard) that is all damage. the text box is going to the effect of the attack. roaring moon's 1st attack is all an effect. adding status effects, sending the opponents active to the bench, and the like are all "effects" of the attack. other effects are like draw cards, or put basic pokemon on the bench. these are also all considered effects. toedscruel doesnt prevent these since they do nothing to the active pokemon, but they are also effects, in case you were curious what the difference was
Toxtricity is my favorite Pokemon and it is very frustrating to see it receiving a card as scattered as this toxtricity ex. Is there any good way to play with this earth toxtricity?
I’m curious if a single emergency jelly would be funny tech for all those weaker Pokémon that have the math to ko roaring moon after it uses its instant ko
I love this card but I just know that I'm going to be up four prizes after using two of these attacks and a radiant Greninja is going to counter k o me for 4 prizes
It hurts me knowing how much of a problem this deck is going to be… great to see the return of something so powerful like mew vmax, definitely gonna be a fun time for somebody like me who tries to avoid using meta decks but I may have to this time around lol
I think that this card could potentially be in a new version of turbo lost box, it can be powered up with a single attachment+mirage gate and its able to knock out anything which turbo lost box likes to do. plus it can use its second attack to do 220, leaving any pokemon to be knocked out by sableye later on
I still don’t understand why people won’t use emergency jelly with roaring moon. I mean it’s within perfect range to instantly heal back up to 150 hp then on your next turn you could basically get back all of your hp with the booster capsule
discard effect is actually not a bad thing right now in this format I would say, very easy to thin the hand to get more cards off a bibarel or to get them later with a superior energy retrieval
That's why I'm thinking to play this with emergency jelly to heal roaring up to 150hp. Iron hands hits 140 with the booster. Iron hands will be hard to play against
