Gab, I reccomend you also the Ćele kula, the Skull Tower near Niš, in southern Serbia, it‘s really interesting. The Ottomans made a tower of skulls of Serbian soldiers that took part to the First Serbian Uprising in 1809. There is also the skull of the Serbian national hero Stevan Sinđelić. A famous Serbian popular song was made in his honour: “Oj Vojvodo Sinđeliću”. Congratulations for your videos!

What an absolutely wonderful video. I was verty impressed with Novi Sad, but I really liked the remote Serbian country paths. You remarked about the car rental prices being much cheaper in Serbia than Croatia. Serbia is, in general, much cheaper than Croatia, one reason being it gets far fewer tourists. One other thing to watch out for is that the Serbian dinar is a non-convertible currency, so you should change any remaining dinars into say, dollars or euros, just before leaving the country. I did this at Belgrade Airport and received a poor rate. And finally, some mightily impressive trucks on the Serbian roads in your video!
That monastery is incredible! All that original paint that is still there. It looks beautiful and creepy at the same time. I love it. I'm psyched about you visiting N. Macedonia, too. I was recently looking into exploring that area of the world.

In most orthodox eastern European cities, it is almost a certainty you'll see a St Cyril and St Methodius Church... those saints were brothers, both were byzantine theologians and missionaries who lived in the 800s, known as Apostles of the Slavs, are very important in the Orthodox faith. They translated the Bible so they could teach the Gospel to Slavs. St Cyril is credited with creating the Cyrillic alphabet.

Their mission to Moravia lasted only a few decades. Their disciples went to South Slavic regions of the first Bulgarian empire, including what are now Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia, where in the 900s they constructed a new script for Slavic, based on capital Greek letters, with some additions; confusingly, this later script (drawing on the name of Cyril) became known as Cyrillic. Saints Naum and Clement, both of Ohrid and both among the disciples of Cyril and Methodius, are sometimes credited with having devised the Cyrillic alphabet." www.britannica.com/topic/Cyrillic-alphabet I don't really care who created the alphabet, what does not change is the fact that both St Cyril and St Methodius ARE VERY IMPORTANT in Eastern Orthodox countries, and that the alphabet was named after him as it is based on his scholarly work and linguistic contribution.

Sremska Mitrovica was build on top of the Roman city of Sirmium, one of four capitals of Roman Empire. 18 Roman emperors were born on the teritory of nowadays Serbia. In 60ties there was an idea to ressetle the town so that the old city could be excavated. At the end it was to expencive to do.

Gabriel go to the Petrovaradin fortres near Novi Sad.
Did you go to see Petrovaradin Fortress? Strand beach? "Ribarac" restaurants, "Kej" - riverfront walking area on the Danube? The fortress is 20 mins walk from the main square just across the Varadin bridge. Can't leave Novi Sad without visiting the fortress.
That camera work in the little church was really good!
Look up the Almazan Kitchen guys and do a video together! That would be so awesome!
Novi Sad to be European Capital of Culture in 2021 - Great Explore Gabriel. Bravo
Nice countryside!
Subotica is really nice, it's my birthtown. Also recommend Lake Palic, that's real close, too.
Sorry man I'm not criticizing you, but you could buy apples from that grandmother because she sold them dirt cheap and it would help her a lot because their pensions are very small, and you could give those apples to someone later or even eat them because they are delicious because they are not chemically sprayed!!
The only things I had with me were my car keys and the water bottle. :)
Novi sad is a beautiful city. Greetings from an albanian.
Hi Gabriel, after going through so many countries do you think people are the same all around the world ie. there are everywhere good and bad people?
