Im flattered haha but definitely no legend here. I only remember the length and width of the notch before I bent it was 9.25"x3.5" and I believe I made the bends 3inches out from each side. Hope this helps

Thanks and great question, I dont believe so as long as its boxed in. Once its boxed in, it should in theory be stronger.
is the frame notch necessary for the 4/5 drop or is it just nice to have?
No, only if you go lower than the 5 inches in the rear you need a C notch. I plan to go about 2 more inches lower in the rear so in total about 7
