Leg Workout Plan - More Exercises, Less Sets, More Failure Sets. Lets get into it: 0:51 - Seated Leg Curl - Speed warm up then hit the one set. Importance of doing these strictly, and not throwing weight. Hold the contraction position. 2:15 - Seated Leg Extensions - Similar to seated leg curls and start with speeded warm up. 3:11 - Machine Trap Bar Deadlift - Do a cluster set and go close to failure. Rest 20 seconds, then go to failure, rest 20 seconds, then go to failure. 4:30 - Leg Press - Good hard set, almost to failure 5:18 - Frog Style Leg Press - As many reps, pause 5 seconds, do a few more reps, pause 5 seconds, do a few more reps. 6:45 - Hip Thrusts - One all out set to failure (you don't suck) 7:25 - Barbell stiff legged deadlift - One set to failure (you should have jell-o legs now) Thanks coach!
Hi John Been working through all of your videos over the last 6 months since I found your channel. I am amazed by the results and also obviously your advice on training. Keep up the great work. You are one of a kind and have changed a lot of peoples training regimes I'm sure. Looking forward to more videos soon!!
I warm up on the leg extension and flexion machines. Always warm up. Sometimes two sets, sometimes it take four, it just depends. With a good warm up I've never had an injury in over 30 plus years. Always use proper technique, take time to do it right, you'll never regret it.
The cluster set was something I had never done before. After trying this method on the incline bench I was impressed how good I felt about tearing up the muscle tissue that I started expanding this method to other muscle groups and I have seen gains from it. I don't do these very often but wen I do I have never felt I had anything less than a great attack on the muscle. They are killer and I recommend anyone try these as a change up in the routine.
I love the idea of that hip thrust machine, but my gym has never had one. I'd either have to do a barbell version or, my fav, I usually hit the glutes on a hyperextension bench (I even bought a folding, heavy-duty HOIST hyper bench for $300 on Amazon). I like to do the latter with 2 dumbbells held close to the face, then, for a mechanical drop set, held hanging down, then - an actual dropset - just 1 dumbbell held close, then hanging. I'll also take to the bank your idea of speed warmups. Simple, fast, and way better than the tendency I have in a crowded gym to skip warmups altogether.
for the last month or so have incorporated the 1 x huge cluster sets on the leg press, leg extensions and the leg curls. i got these tips from another 1 of your leg videos and i tell you that i have had great results in strength and size. Keep up the great Chanel the content is great. Cheers Craig
Hi John the hip thrust you were using I noticed something similar to the seated calf raise and the pendulum squat machine making it a very effective exercise because the weight is not inline with the hips it is out in front of the hips making the movement much more difficult then if the weight was inline with the hips a recommended machine you were using safe and healthy
One of th3 machines I been dying to have access to is the Hip-Press machine replacing that upward Leg Press machine. Great content, rip Mr. John Meadows.
John, during PPL if my shoulders are lacking should i do them before chest or stick with chest first and shoulders after? or even switch to another split
I guess the HIT style of training is in the air. I’ve been doing it the last couple weeks as well. When done right it’s really the most effective way of training I’ve done over the years.
I like HIIT as well. Hill sprints are my favourite. I hate anything slow and steady cause I've always been explosive and quick. It sucks seeing HIIT get a bad name because the people who promote it come up with nonsense claims and don't even do it properly anyway (HIIT is all out as hard as you can for short periods which I've never seen an 'influencer' do properly)
Holy cow John! I workout in my basement and I came up with a single leg version of that "shrug/hand held squat by holding a bar with weights on one end only. Works really well : ) Enjoying this series immensely
Hi John I did your bicep workout that up put up with this concept. I can tell you that the pump I cut was phenomenal I promise, probably the best pump I e had for years on biceps. Had trouble taking a shower after lol.
I love your videos so much !!!! They are so informing and interesting you really get so much helpful information out of those. Thank you for the amazing content !!!
Sounds like a great Saturday morning workout tomorrow...that way I can recoup Sunday 😁 Really can't say thank you enough you are a great fellow! 🇺🇸💪👊 Enjoy your weekend, John!
Hey John, really appreciating this aweome content. About one really hard set per exercise, is it stupid to go every set to failure even if i could do it? or just sometimes, like every 3rd back workout to failure?
Have you ever dealt with imbalances and what can you suggest to correct these? My right leg is shorter than my left and it's hard to make the mind muscle connection in my right.
Hey John! Loved the video. I was wondering if you had any opinions on which high intensity techniques compliment which exercises best. I've been incorporating done into my training and there may be no difference but I was wondering if you think some techniques go best with certain exercises? Thank you and keep up the good work 😊
I've been using your warm-up set for leg for quite some time now. It is really good for legs especially. For the upper body, for me, not so much. Anyways, I get a hell of a burn when I hit that top set and I think it is a good way to check if I am getting stronger.
Just curious. It seems to be at your place, but in the latest videos you used a lot of Prime machines. Are you building up the equipment to more diversity or are you running kind of a test circuit and swap the material? Thanks for the great content btw!
The Gyms in Iceland closed again so it’s just Squats and Stiff leg dead’s in my garage setup. You never know what you have until you lose it has never been as true as now.
John I love the change up this workout offers. Wow nice new stimulation, I don't have the machines you have, I adapted (pun intended) changing the angles as much as I could, No Regrets doing so.. thank you for yet another awesome video!! Always praying strong fire in your heart FFTARTAGLIA 🙏💪🔥❤
Hey John, how do you like the hoist hamstring curl compared to something like the Prime leg curl you have American Barbell? I have a hoist at my gym but Ive never used it and have been wanting to try it and just want your feedback on it.

Thanks for the breakdown!
3:04 the more it hurts, the more angry you get, the more you push.... Now THIS is the essence of building muscle. John Meadows rules !!
Those YOYO tricks are Insane 💥💥🙇🏾♂️🙇🏾♂️🙇🏾♂️
Right? That was sick ahah how does he do that without getting the rope all tangled up?
He Makes it look so easy and Effortless, I'm definitely giving him a follow on the gram
Lots of pratice man
I've never seen any of those machines before. Must be a very advanced and/or expensive gym.
The hamstring/leg curl would freak me out with the seat moving like that
EDIT *MY OPINION* EDIT ...
Those HOIST machines actually suck ass. Gold's has them and they're absolute garbage.
@@bellyflopman totally agree. The hoist machines are shit
Lildoodisquirt69 they are for sure hit or miss, I was at a gym once where some of it they got was really, really good. Then others where just terrible
Lildoodisquirt69 that rocking back and forth would get on my damn nerves.
Crazy machines. Never seen anything like those before.
Also still living the yo-yo intermissions!

I got two knee replacements I do as much legs as possible, can’t do dead lifts.
And yet perfectly fit and healthy young guys are fully skipping leg day! They need to read your comment!
@@nowaynowaynottoday leg day is my favorite day though I am starting to appreciate arm day
@@MatthewMcNabb91 can't spell legend without leg!!
@@nowaynowaynottoday Well imo they're not particularly 'fit' if they've got tiny legs and a massive upper body. Looks ridiculous
Oliver Power thanks when you get 66 years old it does get harder. I just try to stay committed.

Best trick to date! Insane talent
The very definition of ,,less is more" and ,,train smarter AND harder (than last time)".
Someone's also been following Greg Doucette 😂💪
Thanks doc
I thought we all followed the Doc🤷🏻♂️😂
I like that machine that mimics a hex bar, havnt seen one, looks like a nice way to test grip strength
Do u lock out on a leg press? I moved to a new gym where they have one n I would like to use it without messing up my knees
This equipment looks so nice I’m hella jealous
Hi John,
Great leg workouts! Really enjoyed watching the video.
Big thank you for making the video.
Cheers,
Billy
I love this kind of way or working out.
John, during PPL if my shoulders are lacking should i do them before chest or stick with chest first and shoulders after? or even switch to another split
Do shoulders first yes. Because you'll be more fatigued when you do shoulders if you do chest first which only further exacerbate the imbalance.
Love the intensity!! Amazing Video as always, John!!
I guess the HIT style of training is in the air. I’ve been doing it the last couple weeks as well. When done right it’s really the most effective way of training I’ve done over the years.
I have brought Mike Mentzer book but I am yet to read it. I want to try some HIT but a bit nervous about recovery.
You're right lol hasn't that been the trend lately? 😂😂

Who manufactures those machines please, they look awesome? And what was that trap bar grip machine called?
My gym uses Matrix machines and they all seem really heavy especially the hack squat and leg press! Sweet workout john👌
I love your videos so much !!!! They are so informing and interesting you really get so much helpful information out of those. Thank you for the amazing content !!!
Thanks for the content man!! Really appreciate it!
Wauw , Nice high tech machines! Don't find them everywhere. Nice work out
Thanks John! Just in time for leg day!
"So if you're old, like me, you don't want soggy old man glutes" Hahaha, LOL.... oh crap...I'm the same age... :)
Thank you for the content and values that you share.
Hey John! In your next Q&A could you give your thoughts on Mike Mentzers HIT training and why you think it may or may not be optimal? Thanks!
I learn so many priceless tips watching these videos. Also, that yo-yo trick was crazy! What a great channel 👏
6:19 For the real impressive stuff

Yes! return of the yo yo. I am not disappoint.
Love that hip thrust machine
Hey John r those sweat pants ur product also? Where can I find them
Great video as usual John. On the frog legged squat machine, what would you suggest as an equivalent? I don’t have access to such cool equipment!
👍🏼always love Johns new ideas I will definitely try this!!

How do you like the roc-it series? Opinions?
Ah hell yea. This will be good. Thanks Mountain Dog!! 💪🏻
Do you have a dumbbell leg workout? I am working out at home and do not have machines.
John Meadows' leg workouts always scared me : 0 I''ll try this maybe before Christmas so that I can have a week laying down recovering LOL
John, out of curiosity what is the benefits of using metal chains in your routine?

The machine after the plate loaded leg press. I've never seen that before in my life.
Still disappointed that you don’t finish videos with “alright bye everybody”.
RIP John! You are missed but never forgotten!!
6am getting ready for my Leg Day workout, watching this video over breakfast. If that's not perfect timing I donno what is
Awesome leg workout John 👍🏻 lol @ soggy old man glutes! 🤣 Awesome yo yo trick as always Alexander! 👊🏻

Matrix equipments are awesome as always 🙏🏾🙏🏾

Interesting machines. They move your whole body back and forth.
John, would a workout like this provide enough stimulus for hypertrophy or is this more for maintenance?
Make a video on wrost exercise in gym
That yo-yo trick was actually pretty dope my man
Hey John, what gym are you at?
Brother, That Bearded partner you got= GOLD!...Stayed with you till the end!...Old School Die Hard Partner!
That was a great video. Too bad it was ruined by all the workout stuff. Great job Alexander! 😂👍🏻

These are really machines from mars.
Your kid's yoyo trick blew my mind🤯
Leg day!! 🥵
Your son should be a personal yoyotrainer 🤸😜💪
that matrix hip thrust is very heavy. I think its due to the weight being so far out, causing a big moment arm
💪💜Yeaaa‼‼‼My Favorite Legs..Definitely Trying..
New gym or new equipment?
Alexander needs a top 7 tricks video hahaha
If you do 7 exercises and 3 sets of 8-12 on each, is that 21 sets total?
John! we miss you man.
Do you do custom workout plans?
His videos are so you can customise he has "pick your own"
Perfect timing. Just walked into the gym

Smoke coming off the quads :)
John is it safe to go back to the gym without a mask?
Hey John, how do you like the hoist hamstring curl compared to something like the Prime leg curl you have American Barbell? I have a hoist at my gym but Ive never used it and have been wanting to try it and just want your feedback on it.
Super Good workout
Man, there machines sure move in a weird way. Never seen that before!
John man .. love the videos .. would love to see your cardio routine.
First comment wow ,
Dictator Sith haha ...
What's up with most of these machines that they move the seat?!...
That's actually more biomechanically natural to move while you perform most of the movements.
Só equipamentos de magnata. No Brasil é difícil...😖
EARLIER THAN LAST TIME
no one has those machines
