Awesome technique. plain and simple and is easy to replicate. One good advice would be to add honey (especially) at the end of the jam preparation when the entire contents are slightly warm and not boiling hot. Heating or boiling pure honey would destroy most of the beneficial properties that it will offer in terms of flavoring. Yes, maple syrup or molasses can be added at will but not honey.
I happen to have an excessive amount of blueberries and some strawberries as well so I mixed the blueberries and strawberries and then I added a little bit of unsweetened applesauce for a little bit of texture and also a little just a small amount of honey and the chia seeds and I have a delicious healthy jam thank you so much for this recipe.
I love to make chia seed jams, so easy and so good for you, my kids all love it, I went years without make jam bc of all the sugar until I found you could make it this way and have been making it ever since!!!
Hello there Alissa, from the UK (forgive the mis-spelling if your name has been mis-spelled) - Well, really all I wanted to say to you, is, one, I don't understand how you could have any thumbs down for this quick and easy recipe whatsoever! Secondly, I made it this morning using some kiwi fruit which were going a bit soft (usually go into my smoothies), but I just wanted to try this, as jam making is a big headache!!!! So, as I said, I made it this morning, and it is sooooooo much more yummier than jam made with a ton of sugar for getting it thick and sweet - I can honestly say that I will only make jam this way ever again. I used 'pure date syrup and some honey' as a sweetener, and I love the interigty of the fruit holding, the actual taste of the fruit, tangy, yet sweet, which I like. Very good! Thank you.
Hi Alyssa, the chia jam looks so delicious and healthy.. I really want to make it but would like to know how long it can be stored in the refrigerator for.. thanks for the recipe! 🙂
I know I'm way late on this, but I use a potato masher when crushing the fruit. Had always worked really well. Leaves the jam with some different textures.
Who knew making jam was so easy! Thank you and I can't wait to try them. Just one question: can all of these flavored jams be frozen, make ahead so to speak?
Amazing. I will be making this, thank you. Though Chia seeds should not be heated above 280°F and 320°F (140°C -160°C) as they loose their nutritious benefits. So maybe put them in the jam after it cooled down?
Sugar is a preservative. That is why jam lasts so long. In fact, if your jam grows a bit of surface mold you can just scrape it off and enjoy the rest of the jar. Don't make more than you're going to use in a day or two.
Thank you I love this! I cut out sugar recently so this is perfect. Do you think this recipe could be modified for making pumpkin jam? Maybe sweetened with dates…😍
I so happy I found this video! I am curious if anyone has ever tried making a mango chia jam? And if it turned out well? I have some fresh ones that I froze whole.
Hi! I'm Cristina. I'm from Lisbon, Portugal 🇵🇹. I loved these chia jams. How many days can we kept it in the fridge? Thanks for sharing with us ☺ See you in the next TH-cam video 🎥☺
Yup, I am definitely making this. For those days I dont know what to have breakfast, I will just have a toast with jam. I will probably do the peach one. I guess tomato jam would also work?
Thank you. I’m going to make some. The berries one seem keto friendly (in a reasonable quantity). And it’s a great way to use my chia seeds. I wonder if I can add some protein powder or if it will make a paste?
I have a friend who is trying to stay away from sugar, I bet she would like this jam, I also have a friend who is diabetic, I wonder if this jam would be good for her? I have made it for myself as well but I don't eat much bread or bakery products, so it's just sitting in my fridge.
You could mix it in plain regular or Greek yogurt. That is what I plan to try. Or as a topping on almond flour or oat flour pancakes. I don't eat a lot of bread either.
Awesome video thank you so much I never thought I could make jam so I’ve missed it for so long. We’ve got tons of raspberries and strawberries and usually freeze them now I know what to do with them. Thank you again I’ll be making my own jams very soon. 😍🇨🇦
what about the chia seeds I was taught it wasn't good for the seeds to be in fluid longer than 24hrs because oxidation and heating seeds ruins it's nutrients!? how long will it stay fresh?
For some reason I'm not able to access the blog. The link gives me an error message-page not found. Can you help? I was looking for the amounts of chia seeds to fruit...

The formula is 1.5 teaspoons of chia seeds per cup of fruits, for those interested.

Hi, great video. Thank you ❤️. One thing I read that honey can not be heated, because it can be toxic after certain temperature.

Do you put these jars through a boiling jar process to seal in freshness. How long can I leave in jar in refrigerator if not seal boiling the jars.
Can you freeze this for later use, or does it affect the consistency?
Great recipes thank you !
