    Being obsessed with holding on to the bishop pair can be costly. She totally controlled most of the game with her knights while Dubov was just concerned about keeping his bishops.

    • @UnknownUser-j3n
      @UnknownUser-j3n หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ya dont understand why people try to hold on to bishops at any cost. The bishop may be a superior piece to a knight but its not worth getting into an inferior position, just to avoid trading a bishop for a knight. Its only minutely better than a knight and only when there are no heavy pieces involved. Otherwise knight works better with a rook or a queen or even another bishop.

    I loved that they played almost to the bitter end, cause at their level I think it is not very common to see a player piece down and in this horrible position to continue playing this endgame. A resignation comes some kind before, at least that's what I think.
    I am not judging of course, there are cases that, if there is not a very advanced player around to explain all ideas, or an engine giving the force d moves etc,, I can see a player resigning and I haven't even understood why, lol. Maybe white tried to play against time, maybe, maybe..

      If someone is still at 2400 lvl at age 21, the chances she reaches top 10 in the world is incredibly unlikely. Most people hit their peak rating between 21-27. Anything's possible. Just a few requests please #SUGGESTION. Please lots more of Nurgyul Salimov and lots more of Vaishali. Wouldn't it be great to have a brother and sister at the top of world chess. Pragu looks as if he is the next in line after Magnus while Vaishali is stunningly good too. And, from a historic perspective, could you find some good games by Ludek Pachman. His Modern Chess Strategy was my chess bible when I was playing chess at school, when I was quite good for my age. Nowadays your dog (do you still have him) could probably beat me. And also plenty more from Tigran Petrosian. I know he is not your style (you like the attacking tactical players) but his chess was truly amazing in a different way. I think you put up a quote once from I can't remember who "If Tal offers a sacrifice accept it. If Petrosian offers you a sacrifice, resign". Lastly, please some more Fisher Random. Taking the book learning out of the game really is a good way to focus on pure talent
    So many thanks for your excellent channel. You have reawakened my interest in the game and regularly show how exciting the modern chess world has become.

Levon is stronger than Wesley and vice versa) so she will need to become a world champion in open section to "surpass" her younger brother in future and that honestly is too tough I mean even for top juniors like pragg,guki,arjun,abdu, Vincent we can't say they will ever become a world champion in open section it's no joke lev(has 4th highest rating ever achieved in history of game) is about to turn 40 and have always struggled in candidates that's how tough it is to become a wc in open section......

      If he managed to sac his knight on her last pawn, she would have had to mate him with bishop and knight. There is no "youthful arrogance" here.

    This might be the least Dubov-like game from Dubov of all time. Just trades everything off and loses in an pretty uneventful end game.

      Unfortunately, they were being used recreationally by Dubov, which is why he played so poorly. But seriously, 95% of the comments are like, "OMG SHE IS AMAZING", because she's a woman, but she didn't do anything extraordinary, Dubov just played poorly. Also, she's Indian, so the comments are really getting dotted up.

    Dubov should have resigned much earlier, but he was holding on to the game maybe embarrassed that a woman of low rating should not be able to defeat him?
