I'll have to watch it all the way through... I read up on it and viewed some scenes to make sure that I was representing it accurately here, but that's obviously so much different than actually experiencing the movie. It might actually be public domain now. Either way, I'm pretty sure I can find the full version is on TH-cam.
Haha. I'll be honest - the first time I started ME1, I thought it was really clunky, but by the time I moved on to ME2, I wondered what happened to all the weird quirks.
The Zaherux conspiracy theory at the end, with the nano technology which turns hostile seems to be inspired by Stanisłav Lem's The Invincible. A Mars like planet on which sudden nano-bot storms can appear and whipe out organic life.
@BartlebysCorpse I can recommend the book. It's a pretty interesting story. There is a game of the same name (which follows the same setting on the planet, but puts its story as some kind of prologue to the actual book) through which I learned about the book. Never played the game, but listened to the audio book 🙂

These lore deep dives are excellent. The universe of Mass Effect is so rich and detailed. Thanks for putting these together!
Much obliged!
I loved that movie as a kid it was such a great concept.

@@BartlebysCorpse its a bit like Mass Effect 1 The combat is garbage but the story is worth it.

Well, looks like that's another thing to add to my list of things I should read...
