Between the codex, convos, planet descriptions, and outside sources, there's definitely a lot- even more than most fans probably realize. That said, I'm not sure it's as extensive as TES. I only played through Skyrim (I started Oblivion sometime afterwards, but didn't stick with it). The amount of lore dumps in just the books you'd find in that game alone was crazy. I'd say that my vids were somewhat influenced by watching Shoddycast's Scrolls series back in the day. That series, while far-reaching, was not exhaustive by any means. I'll see how much I cover by the time I get through everything I want to, but I would be surprised if there's *as much* material.
I'm a huge ME fan and stumbled upon Your video on my feed. Well prepared, organized and shockingly good sound quality for a small channel. Great job! Liked and subscribed!
Thank you! I'd say the audio recording/editing aspect is what I have the most difficulty with, so I'm to hear that it didn't sound like I was talking into a tin can on a string 😛
It’s been a bit since I played through the entire trilogy but I vaguely remember that the Reapers admitted they treated each cycle slightly differently. Some cycles were allowed to become slightly more technologically advanced than others, some were harvested slightly earlier, some cycles were totally erased while others had ruins and debris left behind. The reapers have a goal in mind but seem to largely play by ear when it comes to actually purging each cycle. Which kinda makes sense considering how different each cycles situation is from the others, a point Javik makes repeatedly. So the innusonan could have followed a cycle that had slightly more hints left behind and been allowed to advance slightly further technologically than the protheans or ME cycle. It also seems that the ME cycle kicked off pretty early compared to what the protheans and some other precursors were capable of when the reapers hit them.
Thanks! Yeah, when I make a supercut of this and my other videos on the different systems, I'll include a bit of an explainer about just what a small percentage of ancient worlds are known about in-universe.
I do love all the references to previous reaper invasions in all the planet information. Like the planet where all the population centers were targeted from orbit. Of course, in the planet information, they speculate on other reasons or just leave it up the mystery, since because when information codexes were written, the reapers were just a myth.
the people who worked on these games learned so much about science and physics; its astounding to me. I also find it interesting as hell that past species could have very well been more technologically advanced yet were destroyed by the Reapers all the same; Sheperd was the only piece missing to fight the Reapers. A single driven force, overcoming technological odds and nature alike
I don't think he *explicitly* says as much (if there's a quote I'm missing, let me know), but I agree that him saying that Ilos was a rumor and the site of secret research lends more evidence to the idea.
Can you quote it or tell me where / when exactly? Real question as I don't remember it lol I do however remember they were the origional designs for the protheans in mass effect 1 but were later said to be inisannon by devs
The planet the Normandy crash site is located on is called Alchera and is not an ice giant. An ice giant doesn't have a solid surface. They're like gas giants that way, just different in composition and usually mass.
Thanks for pointing that out. I will be sure to correct that when I put together a supercut of this series. Not sure of the timing on that, but I think it'll be a good opportunity to go over my notes and see if there's anything else that needs to be fixed.

Mass Effect is almost proving it has as much lore as the Elder Scrolls series.

Lore which it hasn’t used properly since like Morrowind. A lot of it was sourced in the community as well

Superb video. Really makes your imagination run wild. So many civilisations lost. I wonder what else lies out there. Great job.

These info videos are addictive to listen too. I love this series and universe
Glad you enjoyed it! The Protheans are next- it's progressing slowly, but it is progressing...

Javik confirmed the sculptures are Inasonnen

I think when Sheppard mentions the conduit and Ilos, Javik mentions it was an Inasonnen planet

You know with so many worlds that were obitally bombed the same way melenia apart you'd think people would begin to see a pattern.
Where can I get a copy of that Map?
So if you're referring to the high-res galaxy map, that would be "Mass Effect Galaxy Map," by 'otvert', hosted on deviantart
We dont really say aboriginal anymore. Younger people especially dont use it not that its relevant but theres a comment for youtube stats anyway. 👍👍

@@romic8427 nobody wants to talk to you dude. Not even when youre insulting us. With that in mind.....
We do though? The term is even still used in schools as of the 22-23 school year.
@@keulron2290 Indeed. I've never heard them called anything else, and I'm saying that as someone with Aboriginal family members
@@ryujin9568 I never even knew another name existed to be honest…
