HoneySuckle66, I saw ELO In Buffalo New York back in 1978. I will always remember that night. ELO was awesome!! Without a doubt, the best concert I ever attended. Then again, the best band I have ever listened to....
ELO played at the old Aud in downtown Buffalo. I think it was 1978. Hey, I was in love, listening to ELO on 8 track and checking out the bench seat in my Ford pick up with my future (ex) wife. All I can remember is the spaceship and the band members rising up on their platforms as the top of the ship lifted up. If eclecticear builds that time machine, we can ALL go back to a greater time.....These videos are awesome....
ELO is one of my top favorite bands of all time! These guys saved my life. As an physically abused child, the only comfort I had was escaping into my headphones to listen to the music of ELO. I was transported into a fascinating world where all things were possible. Their music is otherworldly. Thank you Jeff Lynn for being the creative force behind such magic. To all the members of ELO - - thank you for my life. And so you know, I survived my past and found profound love from after all.
Jeff Lynne remains one of the greatest unsung songwriters. A New World Record, out of the Blue, Discovery. 3 great albums back to back. Nit many bands can do that!!
Jeff Lynne's Electric Light Orchestra from The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame site: "Picking up where the Beatles left off, ELO expanded the concept of great melodies, epic song structures and grand orchestrations. ELO added an exciting mix of elements into rock and roll, including disco rhythms and electronic studio wizardry. Imagine a marriage of tuneful, rocking pop songs with instruments from the symphonic realm, and you’ve got the blueprint for what made ELO one of the most popular groups of the 1970s and beyond. Jeff Lynne, ELO’s vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, co-founder, and frontman, conceived of a rarefied musical sphere in which cellos coexisted with guitars, and where classically tinged progressive rock intersected with hook-filled, radio-friendly pop. The result: ELO’s boundary-breaking approach to rock that resonated with a global audience, both as a pop singles act and as album-oriented rockers with deep-track appeal".
How they're not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is beyond me! It's absolutely ridiculous!!! Jeff Lynne is a genius. When Paul McCartney and George Harrison call you one of the greatest musicians/songwriters of all time, you know you have arrived!
"Do You" (Want My Love), ELO from their album, New World Record, 1976, but originally recorded by The Move, on their Messages From The Country album in 1971, with Lynne. beatlely.wordpress.com/2014/10/23/jeff-lynne-elo-the-move-beatles-traveling-wilburys/
Totally awesome! This and Evil Woman are my favourites of ELO. Love them both! Geez... wish I could relive the 70's again... Miss the clothes too... ! lol
ELO met and exceeded all qualifications eons ago. I think its a clique over there at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. I've written to the president and argued my case a few times. All I can do is thank God that I've been fortunate enough to have been exposed to ELO in the 70s, and that we can enjoy them so much, you know?
this is top shelf stuff. saw them in Toronto 'in the day' with the spaceship at CNE in the 70's hey day. **sadly also saw them in a painful 'pop' billing in Detroit, half of Joe Louis Arena opening for hall and oates about '81-'82, when H and O were on fire... Always loved their sound and the 'bigness' of it.. RIP Kelly jc
I just heard this on the radio on the way home from work. Cranked it up and rolled the windows down. Had to look it up on TH-cam and listen again. ELO rocks and I'd give my left "you-know-what" to go back in time to where the REAL music used to be....not this Justin Bieber "I can't figure out which way my friggin hair is going" crap..or the Lady Gaga (gag would be better) crap, that kids have for choices nowadays....God, I'm turning into my parents....
I saw them live in Buffalo, New York. I was in total ah. Thank you, TH-cam, for letting me see today what I missed back them. My favorite tune from my favorite band.
Loved ELO. But was always keenly aware that most of their best material came from the mind of the symbiotic life form that lived on Jeff's head. What people thought was hair, was actually it's complex bundle of neural fibers...
Brilliant doesn't some up the genius of Lynne. I liked A new world record but their best is Out of the blue. This is their magnum opus. Oh and the second best was Roy Wood's last album, "On the third day".
One thing you have to remember specifically about ELO was their albums were brilliantly produced, and even guys that hated them would listen because the sounded different. "Out of the Blue" really stood out in a horrible way, but Lynne really shoved analog tech as far as he could then. But instead of doing that I would have preferred a '66 or '67 sound. Later, so did he. The digital age has an entire generation of people whose ears are effectively wrecked.
Agreed that it is a shame that the bands you've mentioned are not included in the Hall. I'd also add The Cars and Styx as others very deserving of that honor but for some unknown reason not inducted.
Sometimes all the stars align and a band is formed .. Beatles & ELO are an example of bands the World will never see again
My favorite band ever. Musically they are spectacular live.
HoneySuckle66, I saw ELO In Buffalo New York back in 1978. I will always remember that night. ELO was awesome!! Without a doubt, the best concert I ever attended. Then again, the best band I have ever listened to....

Unlike a lot of bands, ELO almost always sounds great live. What you hear on the records is for the most part what you hear live.
They have been one of the best live bands ever. With real musicians!!!
ELO is one of my top favorite bands of all time! These guys saved my life. As an physically abused child, the only comfort I had was escaping into my headphones to listen to the music of ELO. This is the best live ver of Do Ya. Incredible.
Absolutely one of the most underrated bands ever...
Not anywhere near as underrated as the Move.
ELO at their best. A New World Record... It just doesn't get better than that.
ELO was and is a totally underated group! These guys were brilliant!
ELO.....Rock n Roll at its highest level.....Jeff Lynne can touch the sky.....
yep well "Above the clouds"!
Jeff Lynne remains one of the greatest unsung songwriters. A New World Record, out of the Blue, Discovery. 3 great albums back to back. Nit many bands can do that!!
ELO had a distinctive sound. You always knew an ELO song. Good song btw.
I saw ELO live Madison Square Garden, 1978... they had that "spaceship" thing on stage... it was absolutely fantastic !!

Mine, too. I love all kinds of music but ELO is the creme de creme. Do Ya is their best, bar none.
How they're not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is beyond me! It's absolutely ridiculous!!! Jeff Lynne is a genius. When Paul McCartney and George Harrison call you one of the greatest musicians/songwriters of all time, you know you have arrived!
Just love this song! He's a genius!
tracy agee Do ya?
Pure Emotions was put in to this music.🤩🤩
ELO & Queen were my top faves in '76! At least Queen I could see live in 1980, so thanks for THIS;-)
Stands the test of time
Powerful and Perfect
Explosively flies out of those instruments , great harmony.
Read this again in 2025 !!!
These guys have perfect harmony, it's like they were born to sing together!'
OMG-Kelly =Fabulous,fantastic--the greatest band of all time.
ELO is Great, I love their music!!
Musically Jeff Lynne is the best ever. Don't miss the 2024 Jeff Lynne's ELO Summer and Fall North American TOUR!!!❤❤❤
Fucking badass! Electric Light Orchestra are one of the greatest band to ever appear in Rock and Roll history. Long Live Rock and Roll!
"Do You" (Want My Love), ELO from their album, New World Record, 1976, but originally recorded by The Move, on their Messages From The Country album in 1971, with Lynne. beatlely.wordpress.com/2014/10/23/jeff-lynne-elo-the-move-beatles-traveling-wilburys/
Epic! Best Band on the planet!
Totally awesome! This and Evil Woman are my favourites of ELO. Love them both! Geez... wish I could relive the 70's again... Miss the clothes too... ! lol
Big hair and Bell bottoms. Can't go wrong man. The best.
I love to hear Kelly sing.
RIP sir.
OW! rock n roll! You said that right, schusterlehrling! Those were the days my friend we thought they'd never end.
Saw them at Buffalo, New York, also with the space ship. I wish I could go back and relive it all again....
Great show way back when, what fun!
Thanks, ELO
R.I.P. Kelly

I was born 30 years too late. ELO is amazing.
Jeff Lynne's ELO the very best ever!
DO YO DO YA WANT MY LOVE!!!
This song rocked my 70's so hard.
this is top shelf stuff.
saw them in Toronto 'in the day' with the spaceship at CNE in the 70's hey day.

Saw them in San Diego in 1981 or 82..Love em! RIP Kelly
COOL!! ELO rocks! This is one of my favourite songs of all time!
Simplemente Magistral...la mejor banda en su estilo. Las voces en sus discos nunca hubieran sido igual sin los coros de Kelly.
Mr Blue sky czyli Jeff Lynne z przebojem Do ya z koncertu . ELO is the best.
Jeff Lynne the best musician and producer ever.
I do agree that RUN-DMC belongs to the Rock hall of fame. but ELO has to be in it too! love their songs
There will never be another Jeff..
A New World Record changed my life forever. IT IS the best album ever.....
This song kicks ASS!!! It reminds me of my youth and some REALY GOOD times!!! Oh yeah!!!
love this song
You are so right, Kelly was fantastic at everything he did... The world lost one of its best!!!!
Great Song, Great Time, They Still Knew How To Rock Then, Got A Littly To Poppy In The 80s But Still A Remarkable Band.
EXCELLENT!!!!!! I love this footage for sure. ROCK ON!!!!!!!
One of THE BEST rock 'n roll songs.......EVER!!
;)
Ahhh 1975 =) I was 21!
Such a great time for ROCK! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
This is a catchy tune.
Cant help listening to it over and over again.
this is such an awesome tune - great hook..
i think ace frehley did a great job paying tribute to elo with his rendition in the late 80s as well.
Saw them live at the Lakeland Civic Center '76-'77 - one of my first concerts! Love it!
My all time favorite tune from my all time favorite band.......
Elvis Presley will always be the best he will always be the king as I am a very big elvis fan and elvis will live on in my heart forever till I die
Good for you so go comment on Elvis music videos.
Wow! Kelly Groucutt was a great singer as well!
Jeff Lynn actually wrote Do Ya even before ELO - when the band was called The Move. It was originally released on a 45 by The Move.
Who can sport a fro for etertinty...Jeff can...thats who!! Genius
This was when ELO played for royalty at Wembley. You can get the DVD from Amazon or Barnes & Noble, I'm thinking.
So wish they'd get in the Rock Hall of Fame
m brandon Don't understand some of the inclusions while they are still on the outside looking in. Boneheads in charge.
m brandon they were inducted in 2017. Finally !!!
There in ... Now let Joe cocker in ..
Awesome song from the soundtrack of my life.... thanks!
I thought that I had seen the best video on youtube(ELO live in London doing Poor Boy-the Greenwood). But this is it!
I totally agree with you. I've watched Ace's version about 100 times on youtube!
The string section was great. Always was drawn to Melvyn Gale, thought he was cute!
I Love ELO!!
RIP Kelly Groucutt 1945 - 2009
Awesome......DRUMS rocked!!!!!!!!!!
One of the few songs Bevan got to really rock out on.
I love how they rock with the cello.
One of them, that's for sure.
Ya yeah!!! Classic Rock!!!
Sure, Ace Frehley (of KISS fame) rocks, has talent etc., but immitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Jeff Lynne is a master songsmith of rock.
Gotta love that string section!
do ya do ya ... want my face? ...... lyrics? how great is that?
Bev Bevan played Drums on Black Sabbath's BORN AGAIN world tour when they had Ian Gillen on vocals.
Did ya'all see "Mr. Blue Sky: The story of Jeff Lynne and ELO" on VH1C the other night? Most Impressive.
We want ELO back!!
@tlynch1218 Amen....It's about the music....and ELO IS music. Awesome Music......
These guys have killer flows
Loved ELO.
But was always keenly aware that most of their best material came from the mind of the symbiotic life form that lived on Jeff's head.
What people thought was hair, was actually it's complex bundle of neural fibers...
Guess WHAT?!!
This version is givin' me a feva.....
it NEEDS MORE COWBELL!!!!!!
very good song of this fantastic band!
Brilliant doesn't some up the genius of Lynne. I liked A new world record but their best is Out of the blue. This is their magnum opus. Oh and the second best was Roy Wood's last album, "On the third day".
Nice. Thanks for the upload.
Bev is the drummer. I always wanted to come back in my second life as Richard Tandy. Playing keyboard for ELO would be freakin' awesome....
Don't know why the Zoom tour didn't succeed. The DVD is GREAT!!!!
Wow, Jeff's good on that song. Great song, thanks for posting.
This song rocks!

It's all preference. In many of his songs, Plant was loud and high. But early on he was known as "the young man with a powerful voice."
wow! I love those strings!
Kelly Groucutt is the singer and a trained opera singer at that!
Great song, great performance.
Jeff Lynde=Genius
Agreed that it is a shame that the bands you've mentioned are not included in the Hall. I'd also add The Cars and Styx as others very deserving of that honor but for some unknown reason not inducted.
ELO is just plain CLASSIC !! This is sooo much better than 99% of the rubbish being put out these days (except for Oasis, of course).
