    Always loved that one bit of lore regarding the outsider where the tyranids explicitly went around it. Usually they just fly past necron worlds without giving it any thought but they took one look at the outsider and just went "nope".

      @barretcampbell1713 ปีที่แล้ว

      My own head cannon has always been that the Tyrannids are a form of bioweapon made by the old ones as a final countermeasure to the Necrons and C'tann. They were not designed to fight them directly, but instead to remove all living things ahead of an approaching Necrons/C'tann wave; thereby depriving C'tann of life energy. Similar to how foresters fight fires by starting controlled burns in their path to starve them of fuel. The obvious danger of the Tyrannids explains why the old ones stored them outside of the galaxy, with them being awoken and lured in by the activation of Necron technology.

    • @joeb3505
      @joeb3505 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      Maybe they passively acted as a barrier against the Immaterium and the Chaos Gods' influence? Then the Necrons destroying or breaking them into shards kind of destabilized that protection. @@corvididaecorax2991 *killing, not shattering.
      They shattered the ctan because outright killing them resulted in "consequences" but shattering did not.
      The one ctan they did supposedly kill was Llandu'gor, the Flayer, who cursed the necrons as It died and created the flayer virus.
      There is a theory that the Flayer is not actually dead, but is instead shattered into shards so small that it can't reform, those shards being the flayer virus itself. Or something along those lines.
      I am unsure if the flayer virus was the only consequence of permanently killing the Flayer or if there was additional unspecified shifting/destruction of the laws of reality as well, if anyone has any text on the matter it's greatly appreciated.

      @13579zod ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@jmc2830It’s possible a C’tan feeding on a star could shift a main sequence star to a non main sequence star. Or shift the intensity of different radiation it normally gives off. Or the star itself isn’t the issue at all, and the C’tan is the thing giving off the harmful radiation.

The way it’s implied in that book is essentially the C’Tan see the 1’s and 0’s that make up the fundamental “code” of reality, and can rewrite it as they see fit. Whereas a warp entity would draw upon the fundamental otherness of the immaterium, the C’Tan achieve a similar effect by changing a 1 to a 0, essentially.

    -The necrons actually had better tech than the old ones, but the webway allowed them to outmanuever them and defeat them in detail
    -Its easy to know whether or not the dragon of mars/omnissiah is the void dragon shard because the author of mechanicum outright said it was out of universe
    -Your art selection was excellent as always, I just thought it was kind of funny when you started talking about the deciever you switched to a nightbringer pic, as with a couple other C'tan. That being said the amount of C'tan art is kind of limited...

    Headcanon: the shard of Y'ggrania which left our galaxy wound up in the original home galaxy of the Tyranids, possibly having gone through a time warp to the past and originally started the Tyranids on the idea of coming here, or else just feeding happily on all the stars left unpopulated after the Tyranids ate everything organic.

    "Entire systems swallowed by black holes" so there is a non-zero chance that there are some pockets of Old Ones and Krorks and unsullied Aeldari existing in out-of-time pockets of space as they perpetually fall into a black hole? A second on the inside of that system would pass as an eon in real space, perhaps even allowing small excursions out of the black hole and back into real space.

    Please, please, please. Make more long form 40k videos. I recently started getting into 40k and I absolutely LOVE the lore elements that come with the universe. Your first few 40k videos are some of my favorites you've ever posted (Along with your readings of HP. Lovecraft and a large number of SCP entries/scenarios)
    Thank you for making these videos as well. 😁😁

    The C'tan are so cool and beyond powerful as multi solar systems or galaxy level in full form even before consuming each other and becoming even more powerful. I love the hints in new lore that the War in Heaven was universe level and not just one Galaxy hope we see a War in Heaven series of books where we get foundations for the universe.

    It should also be noted that the necron tyr cancer ridden existence was as a result of their strange star which was actually giving off foul radiation as a result of the ctan nightbringer who was parasiticly consuming it.
    It was one of the reasons it was almost impossible to rectify their gene flaws even when far from the reach of their bad sun and with their very advanced technology as it was supernaturally burned into them for ages.
    It is also probably the reason the necrontyr also had unusually awful and gloomy personalities even for a cancer ridden species as they were literally being blasted by radiation tainted by a evil sadistic star god. So they worshipped the being solely responsible for their predicament.

    • @scole131
      @scole131 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It isn’t confirmed that that’s what caused their sun to release so much radiation as no one knows when the Nightbringer began devouring their star

    • @licensed_beheader
      @licensed_beheader ปีที่แล้ว

      @@scole131 yes yes am sure the foul star god gorging on their star had nothing to do with the fact that their star was intrinsically "malfunctioning" and resulted in their genes being twisted to an unnatural degree.
