Explain why slaanesh is god of rape and tortura
An Imperial Guardsman, a Space Marine, and an Inquisitor walk into a bar.
The Guardsman says "ow."
The Marine breaks right through the bar with his reinforced skull.
The Inquisitor accuses the bar of heresy. When the bar refuses to confess or even move despite sustained torture, the Inquisitor executes the Guardsman for failing to defeat the bar in combat.

GW actually did a great job in melding mytological elfs and tolkin elfs in both fantasy and 40k. Elfs/Eldar come of as creepy, weird and disturbing before anything else, unless they use trickery.

Let me guess, the eldar are the murrder-machines and the wierdbois are good and pisiquic fuckerey (or the WAAAAARRRRG field)
@Fëanor King of the Ñoldor yeah i those monts i got deper unto the cultural niche of 40K, and yeah the only thing ho come close to the *WAAAAAAAAGH* is not canon, its is the angry marines rage, the psycos apotecarys can insult and ductape a marine in deathdor to full health, a angry psyker can made conceptual insults manifest in the material plane to fuck up his enemys a angry techmatine also can fix a machine jus by hitting them with a power wrench and ductape it (wile insult the machine ho have a "machine spirity" aka rudimentary AI ho is somehow pisicoticaly pissed) and even with it the angry marine rage ca only come close to the *WAAAAAAAAGH* level of bullshit.
Ps: to warp reality that way all the orks would be conviced of being the smartest species and also under 1 warboss, since the power of *WAAAAAAGH* of warband depends only of the sheer number of green skins.
In old time of war in heaven, Eldars had psychic power so powerful that they can modify reality around them, forest of trees form cities & halls, sculpting warp like clay & surfing solar wind.
They grew so accustomed to their birthright that they are unable to severe reality from warp, allowing chaos to brew and take shape; worst of all, they created one.
It is why 40k craftworld eldars limit their mind to avoid excess & dark eldars shun the identity at all. To pity them is laughable because we are damned altogether.
Those dammed elves I’m just trying to worship talos over here, wait a second.....

40k races in a nutshell
Space elves = eldar
Space dwarves = squats
Space halflings = ratlings
Space feudalism(not dune) = imperial knight worlds
Space authoritarianism = imperium of man
“The overpowered race that nobody can beat(cue the borg from Star Trek or yuuzhan Vong from Star Wars)” = tyranids
Space orcs = orks
Space goblins = Gretchin
I mean, the Yuuzhan Vong basically did nothing BUT lose after Borleias and Ebaq 9
What about the Tau ?
@@ottowilliamhalim4116 I mean i am not sure where to place the Tau. technically they aren 't space communists due to their caste system(communists want to abolish all hierarchies). in fact the tau are one of a handful of races that don't have a parallel in Warhammer Fantasy. I think the tau were created to make Warhammer 40,000 more Sci-fi esque than simply Warhammer fantasy in space.
Space egyptian-like robotic mummy = Necron
Otto William Halim space fish
Okay, I now am well versed on the nuances and lore of the Warhammer 40k and its universe. As well as the history of its races and their interactions.
But what the hell is Warhammer 40k
Tabletop wargame, with tons of books, video games, board games and such. Basically Space Middle ages.
Inquisitor Arkham cool. I don’t really understand the hype around a board game, but the lore is intriguing.
@@jax1384 it's been going on since the late 80's, so I mean there's that. Plus it's more hobby than just board game, like with the assembling and painting of miniatures and such. If you get bored check out a battle report for various faction battles. Or check out Dawn of War and such.
The best summary I can give you for this setting is gothic space opera set in the space middle ages after the fall of the space Roman empire.
If you're looking for a good book though, give the Eisenhorn Trilogy a try. Based on the stories of Inquisitor Eisenhorn. Kind of a normal humans perspective on thesetting. Albeit one who has damn near unlimited resources in the prosecuting of the Imperiums many enemies.
@@jax1384 honestly the board game is just one component of why it's got the traction that it has. It's a hobby, where you build and paint your own models and scenery, which is immensely satisfying. It has an enormous library of books and other media supporting it, containing vast amounts of intricately related lore which bounces between self-contradictory and batshit insane. It has unsubtle political overtones which have always acted as a parody and mocking of political systems which still exist and are relevant today (some fans don't get that it is saying that fascism is a *bad* thing, but they are an unpleasant minority). It creates communities, be it through the game or through the hobby or the lore or the art, especially amongst people likely to lack their own. 40k is a universe first, within which we find stories and games and beauty and horror in equal measure.
Or, y'know, it's nerds playing with toys. Whatever you think.
Your last statement is what I've been thinking about Warhammer
13:00 is a funny picture.
That Eldar won't still have that smug expression when the Salamander unscrews his head like a jar lid.

It's heart warning to see just how many people are familiar with 40K's TRUE canon, aka TTS.
16:40 Let's face it, Slaanesh probably *WANTS* to be subdued!
The old ones = Primordials
The eldar = Forerunners
Pretty much.
probably closer to;
Valar -> Old Ones (Fantasy and then 40k later) -> Primordials
Eldar (LOTR) -> Elves (Warhammer Fantasy) -> Forerunners
In reality, with the exception of the instances in both iterations of warhammer (as they are similar to one another in most ways) each incarnation has it's own unique traits and narrative meaning.
It is very difficult to create anything unique in this day and age as you'll find most everything has been done before, even tolkien took inspiration from Germanic myth and other sources for his work .
As such, the trick is to take something that has been done before and put enough of a unique spin on it to be compelling, i feel that all three universes have accomplished this well enough that the similarities shouldn't be considered too much of a detriment to their value.
@@Majesticz11 Very true. It's impossible to be 100% original. We all build upon what was before us. And yeah, Tolkien borrowed A LOT from germanic mythology and norse religion. Heck, if you look it up, every one of the dwarf names in the hobbit are straight up taken from norse religion. Gandalf is a borrowed name as well. So even he just stole names or ideas. It's not so much what we borrow that matters, it's more how it's used and he used it in a new way. Same for warhammer. People seem too hung up on ideas being "complete pure and super duper original."
Except the eldar didnt murder the old ones
Flood=tyranids
The whole sword smithing thing is literally pulled out of Norse mythology to the letter, it is a stunt pulled by Loki IIRC

A lot changed though, and looking at the old Rouge Trader stuff, 40k was extremely different to what it is today
Fast, dodgy, obnoxiously colorful, with a penchant to blowing into bits with a well timed bolter shot.
I got into 40k about two years ago and couldn't get into the Eldar lorewise even though I enjoy their aesthetics but this video really made me reinterested.
A good introduction to the Aeldari but does show more on the Asuryani rather than the Aeldari as a whole. Also Aeldari terraforming tech still exists as the Biel Tan craftworld modified it to create the Voidspinner super heavy grav tank

They are all batshit crazy exepct malal he doesnt exist
@@bloodfartmoon2765 I dont care about them being crazy. Most of the people we learn about and who are the most interesting to learn about are crazy
I'd say only a handful matter:
Tzeentch, Khorne, Nurgle and Slaanesh are easily the most fleshed out considering they've been present figures in Warhammer Fantasy, 40K, and Age of Sigmar.
Then there's the God Emperor of Mankind who is the most important character in Warhammer 40K.
Then there's Gork and Mork, who are basically titanic orks who constantly fight each other.
Then there are the remaining Eldar Gods: Khaine and Isha (who were originally in Warhammer Fantasy) and The Laughing God and the Death God who has a hard to spell name.
@@InquisitorThomas well,as you can already know it just does'nt end there. There is also new god of chaos (renegade god)''malice''. which started to get stronger at 41.millenium. Worshippers of renegade god does not follow rest of the chaos, they also count elder 4 chaos gods as enemy. This topic is pretty interesting because malice also considered as enemy from other chaos gods.
I..think he is the emperor of mankind. Here me out please:
Nurgle created by lost souls of dead humans, and also these mortalses fear from death,
Khorne created by bloodthrist of humans and their warlike nature,
Tzeentch created by mortal's belief of destiny,
Slaneesh created by elven people's thirst for pleasure,
Those 4 also counter each other, Nurgle and Tzeentch are opposite of each other one of them god of death and the other one is god of life,
Same as Khorne and slaanesh.
5th god started to get stronger and popular right after the death of emperor of mankind. In the lore it says just like that:''"The Outcast God," "The Lost God" and "The Renegade God," Malice is the embodiment of Chaos' indiscriminate and anarchic tendency toward destruction, even of itself and its own agents''.
Now,Emperor's mortal body nearly dead, and his warp existence fed by twisted imperium which sacrifices poor physkic human souls. I think he can't remain untwisted in these conditions. His hate for other chaos gods prevents him from joining them but he cannot stays pure cause he stoods alive because of so many poor human souls.
Sinan Alp Akyol
Yeah Malal or Malice is a thing, but I said Gods that matter.
*insert Troll face here*
Wow you can really see where blizzard drew their inspiration for the starcraft universe. Zerg are obviously the tyranids in look and style, but with the backstory of the orcs, being created by an ancient superior race for their physical power. The protoss are the eldarr, a dying race who used to rule the galaxy, created by the same ancient race for their psychic powers, who lost their home world and now go around on vast spaceships far larger than the other races.
Humans are just humans i guess, vast bureaucracy with plenty of corruption, but without the divine zombie leader. Even the marines take obvious inspiration from space marines in 40k, except in starcraft they are the common basic soldier, instead of the elite of the elite they are in 40k.
Even amon feels a bit like a chaos god.
IIRC, the Tyranids were also created by the Old Ones.
the best race of the setting by far

Good shit my man
When you become so kinky you spawn a chaos god
How powerful are the Chaos gods compared to the Eldar gods?
Slaanesh the youngest of the Chaos Gods ate all but three of them for breakfast, that should give you the answer.
@@BiohazardReactor
How about in powerscaling terms?
BiohazardReactor Another thing you have to consider is that because most of the Eldar got into BDSM crap, that essentially weakened most of the Gods and since Slaanesh was empowered by it, yeah it was a cakewalk for it.
But with Ynnead now walking about getting powered up to wreck Slaanesh so much that even it will need a safe word. This question is really dependent on when and what.
I’m willing to bet that before the Eldar got corrupted, the Gods would have been able to handle the Chaos Gods if they ever decided to attack.
@@mon-keightears3980 Khorn, Nurgle and Tzeentch were "born" sometime during the War in Heaven and given that the Eldar rose to power sometime after this war, it can be assumed that their gods had to be able to deal with the Chaos Gods, as otherwise, the Eldar would have been corrupted long before they had the time to murder-f*ck another Chaos God into existence.
Yet at the same time, I don't believe that a possible confrontation between the Eldar pantheon and the Chaos Gods would have been as one-sided as one might think as if the Eldar had possessed a total control over the warp they would have had no reason to solely rely on the Webway of the Old Ones to "safely" traverse the Immaterium.
I, therefore, assume that the power of the full Eldar pantheon and the first three Chaos Gods were relatively similar in power to the point where neither side could freely attack the other one without risking taking significant damage in the process. With the birth of a "chaotic" god inside of the already declining Eldar pantheon, this fragile balance was shattered and the Chaos Gods stepped in to claim the now existing power vacuum becoming the powerhouses they are in modern 40k.
As for Ynnead, I doubt that the Eldar have the power left to create a god that is strong enough to fully defeat Slaanesh, given that Slaanesh managed to hold its own against the other three Chaos Gods and now also feeds upon the acts of its non-Eldar worshippers. At best I would assume that Ynnead might be able to save the souls of let's say 30-40% (exact values are up for debate) of all dying Eldar.
Besides even if Ynnead would turn out to pose a significant threat to Slaanesh, the other Chaos God would probably intervene in order to preserve Slaanesh as an asset against the other players of the Great Game, and no matter how many magical swords the Eldar collect for their new god I don't think Ynnead would be able to handle a fight against all four Chaos Gods.
BiohazardReactor The thing is though Slaanesh has actually realized Ynnead exists and he’s shitting his panties trying to ensure he doesn’t reach his power with the Eldar getting the last sword. But honestly though at this point he’s only trying to delay the inevitable, Slaanesh is honestly screwed just like how the Eldar got screwed in the Fall. (Though honestly GW isn’t going to progress this storyline beyond the Ynnari being only one sword away from empowering Ynnead... we gotta maintain the “Endless War” part of 40k... though I’d be genuinely pleased if they did)
There’s also Cegorach who might have a big hand in this game, there’s plenty of Harlequins who have been aiding the efforts of the Ynnari, and Eldrad. I mean come on this is Cegorach we’re talking about, he obviously has a plan that’s going to screw over the Chaos Gods
Ynnead is empowered by the Dead Eldar in a similar fashion to Slaanesh. So for all the Eldar that Slaanesh has devoured will just empower Ynnead. Ynnead might just be born right inside Slaanesh almost bursting him open and killing him, considering that practically all the dead Eldar are inside Slaanesh, including even the other Eldar Gods.
You say that the other Chaos Gods would try to save Slaanesh but honestly though.. I doubt it. They hated him when he was born, I doubt they’d care if he died. Even in AOS they’re not trying to save him, they just shrugged and moved on with their own games, it’s honestly a situation of “Getting rid of competition” for the other three Gods.
The hell priest accidentally turn up....
"The sound of hellll.....wait..." Looks back at gash and mouths something. "Sorry wrong place. Have fun" gives slanesh a thumbs up...

And this is a pretty good summary video, but I should tell you that Ynnead is said as "In-Nee-Yad", not as "In-need", especially since the nascent God and its followers are such big characters in what s going on in 40K now.
tl;ldr: The grimdark future of 40k is all because the Eldar couldn't keep it in their pants
It's mostly Old Ones' fault, really
@@grizzlyowlbear3538 Those bastards created the orcs to fight the necrons, and of course they had forgotten to put an off switch.

I really want GW to expand the range of wraithbone constructs
I like how across a lot of lore that it's implied that basically the only thing Eldar didn't do during decline before birthing Slaanesh was sex as the drugs not only made sex difficult, but acts of visceral hatred were much more satisfying than anything mere passion could offer. And sex was considered too bestial, something only species as low as the Mon'Keigh would debase themselves with. Reproduction was all handled by AI and technology. And during their downfall, the Eldar altered the purpose of these machines so their energy and efforts could be better focused on helping satiate another desire.
Hell, even Chaos worshiping humans abstain from sex as they're supposed to be destroying humanity, not creating more humans. Even Slaanesh is technically sexless as those that have lain eyes on It describe Slaanesh as almost too painful to lay eyes upon as they are too beautiful to lay eyes upon, using the older term for beautiful when it could mean both men and women. Men were beautiful when they had near perfect physiques and were as fit as humans could be, look at Hellenic and Roman statues for their ideal of male beauty. Women were also beautiful but not in a way that caused yearning or lust. Slaanesh and It's lesser Daemons, the Daemonettes share these physical aspects and ultimately appear beautifully androgynous. And while Slaanesh is the god of pleasure, this also includes all forms of pleasure. The pleasure of spending time with friends, a swordsman/woman taking pleasure in their perfect stances and forms, etc.
Slaanesh honestly kind of piggybacks off a lot of other the other gods' domains. Someone who feels satisfaction after slaughtering an enemy, the blood and violence go to Khorne while the satisfaction goes to Slaanesh. If someone's political intrigues come to fruition, the scheming empowers Tzeentch but the pleasure of watching the opponent ousted from power feeds Slaanesh. Honestly, I have no clue what Nurgle's machinations could offer Slaanesh. Slaanesh derives more power and satisfaction from pleasure and perfection that requires more effort. The pleasure upon completing a masterpiece is much more potent and intoxicating than something a instinctual as reproduction. Even the instinct of violence is more potent as it takes much more effort. The planning, the stalking, and the execution of the plan or even the physical exertion of slaughtering your prey is considered better tribute to Slaanesh.
Also, it's interesting that humans refer to Slaanesh as a he, but the Eldar refer to It as a she.
I guess the Black Library felt that the violence and gore were enough to leave drug use implied and the 40k universe nearly sexless. More room for wholesome violence!
is that malekith at 3:01 lol
