When I saw this reccomendation, I just felt drawn to it. It was like my intuition said "check this guy out, you will resonate with him!" and BOY was my intuition right. You nailed the words spot on, expressing exactly what I went (am still going) through. Even the age is similar to mine, 37. I am writing this after listening to 4:54 and will probably edit this comment, because I have a lot to add! Instant subscribe! EDIT 1: "It's like a part of me was asleep and I've only just started waking it up" - 4:50 - YES! I call it the real you, the way you were when you incarnated or came into this world (any way you want to call it!) .... when we were kids we were so enthusiastic about the world and eager to explore and play. And society takes that away, usually through school and peer pressure. But that inner "real you" will continue to yearn to come forth and this is, to my mind, what you and me went through. I finally feel enthusiastic like a child again, despite the fact that people oppose me and label me as weird or something... but the clarity and certitude of knowing that this woke up real me is indeed real cannot be denied anymore, and it feels great, you feel so released! EDIT 2: I have finished watching the whole video. Top notch stuff, from the heart. The "accepting uncertainty" part and telling yourself that "you are on the right track" to feel normal were great. And regarding the journey within, yes, that is very important to acknowledge, even though some people consider it cliche. Very good video, will watch the rest of your channel! By the way, your voice reminds me of Terence McKenna! Cheers and continue following your heart!
What a lovely comment. I can't believe others are resonating with this. Not that I doubt others feel this way--just that someone would willingly listen to my words and feel a connection to them. These are the words and support that help me know I'm doing the right thing. Thank you to infinity for taking the time to be here with me.
You have a very mature way of thinking. I, too, have felt the same way for a very long time but have never met anyone who thinks the same way as most people are comfortable following the 'norm' You articulated it very well and by watching your video has given me drive and clarity to also pursue change in my life. I hope you find what you are looking for, and i wish you well, brother.
I'm 57 and have been doing exactly what you describe for many years. Have never known what I wanted in life, and have "settled". Don't settle and find a way to discover who you are.
37 here. I have lived my life on the opposite side of the traditional for the last ten years and its been perfect. Before that i lived the way we are told to live for about 9 years and it was terrible. Life is truly wonderful if you value time and seeking your own path, over money. Though nobody will truly agree with your ways. Dont listen to the voice of the world and do as you wish as long as it doesnt hurt anyone else. The voice of the world is loud, proud and forceful. But your own path is gentle, meek and curious. Good luck in all you endeavor and join with some family or friends so its easier for all.
36 years old here. Today will be the last day I do any work for the corporation that's been giving me a paltry check every month. Right in the middle of their busy season, they've broken the last straw on my back. Done. My point is, you are definitely not alone brother.
Definite watershed moment. It's difficult to explain to others (clearly, as you can hear me ramble). It's not a giving up on life--it's a giving in to life.
I'm exactly your age and I'm exactly at this point in life (yet I'm thinking about this for a long long time now. I'm in search of something I just can't find anywhere. Not in another person, not in things I can buy, not in myself). I really hope that I can try it out your way in ~6 months when there's enough money to hopefully find what I'm looking for my whole life....or not...who knows.
Perhaps it is the searching that provides the fire spark for life. There is a great quote in the book "The Alchemist" that goes "It's the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting." Maybe we will never find what we're searching for -- it may not be a tangible thing. However, maybe it is our hope that we will that sustains us. Good luck, brother. Keep me updated on how you're doing.

Appreciate it, Raymond. I'm right there with you.
omg is that provo canyon?
That moment when you realize, “oh…this isn’t a phase.” Heh, real watershed moment…definitely a threshold.
