Michel Polnareff is part of these genius of French music, this man was very well played media, always on the thread of the razor. He has made the "one" newspapers several times either by sulfur acts or by being the victim of not recommendable people .And then is an talented musician. Me, in that empty house, In that empty room, I spend my nights watching Birds passing by Like threats And I hear the autumn coming I have nobody to wait for
I remember well That musician, On a night of farewell at the house I remember well That musician, And the farewell On his violin
And every year When the summer ends I hear the september violin And the past Like a symphony Enters this very room
Me, in that empty house, In that empty room, I spend my nights listening to That symphony Today long gone And which reminds me That you were beautiful

Polnareff is a genius !!! Thank you Dereck for this well done reaction ( I already suggested to you "Tam Tam (l'homme préhisto)" Studio version, later in the eighties but which I think summarized all his abilities, another masterpiece from him, but it's Never Too Late as Kylie sang... ;))
A écouter "Lipstick". Polnareff has an incredible talent, perfect pitch, 5 octave and a half, talented composer. Magnificent eyes ^^. To listen to "Lipstick"
Wow! Three days ago, I was still thinking, "Dereck should finally discover this title", one of my favorites of Michel. The orchestral accompaniment is by Bill Shepherd who from 67 to 72 worked awesomely on all the albums of the Bee Gees.
😃🤣like your réaction ! and this song is gold ! and i listen many over music (reggae , pop, havy métal , mozart ....) j' Adore listen hold french variétés with you !
The BIG SMASH Mouhaha ! You should see your face in the beginining... Only few artists can immediately broaden your musical horizons like him... He's still giving that feeling to me. I mean he's like Midas, everything he touched since the 60's turned into gold. You should give an hear to his motion soundtracks -> "lipstick" (1969) pure "Shaft" style and "La Folie des Grandeurs" 1971, a wink to "The Shadows" epic "Apache" song.
I'm a designer and did quite a bit of work at his house in Palm Springs about 10 years ago. He is an enigma for sure. He could be charming and engaging one minute and vile the next. He would listen to the conversation of the workers with hidden mics all through the house and would have them thrown off the job if they said something he didn't like. I worked on projects involving many famous people and never felt so ill-at-ease in my life. He was by far the craziest and not in a good way. Although he always paid his bill... So there's that
@@samueldevulder no doubt about that. The man is a musical and creative genius. And never missed an opportunity to let you know it...lol But I did get into his music though as a result. Just as a personal and business interaction... And here in California it is a 2 party consent state which could've been financially disastrous for him had someone taken umbrage with his illegal monitoring and recording their conversations. I always got along with him after understanding his mercurial and capricious turns and not taking them personally. That being said- not a fan of the person but admirer of the music. Separating the two isn't always that easy, lol
"L' Amiral" is a weird animal for sure : he's the epitome of "you should never meet your heroes". His attitude is why so many people were fed up with him, even if his talent is undeniable.
Music of this song by Paul de Senneville, composer of Spring Waltz (mariage d'amour), Ballade pour Adeline etc check it Leib Polnareff, Michel's father was also a composer (wrote song for Edit Piaf...) 12 y old Michel received first prize at Paris National Music Conservatory, his first hit "la poupée qui fait non" made him famous in 1969 Regarded as a kind of Mozart of pop music in France
And if you want to see another performance of this tour, this one is amazing !!! It was in his first of his 4 show in Paris in May 2016, I was in the audience and the powerful of this song... I was speechless ! Unfortunately because of an argument between Michel and his producer after the end of the tour, there is no official DVD of the tour, we just have so good memories and fan videos of his best shows ever ! Enjoy 😊 th-cam.com/video/I0Cql7Yzs1k/w-d-xo.html
A little suggestion : you really have to listen to "Ces gens-là" by Jacques Brel (in live). The most beautiful interpretation i have ever seen in my life.
Hi Dereck, I just adore your show. Greetings from Laguna Beach, California. Check out Kim Wilde's song Cambodia and her cover version of Keep Me Going On .
If you want to see one of his live performance, take a look to this : in may 2016, he made a huge comeback in France with 110 show in 7 months all around the country and performed 4 nights on one of the biggest stage of France in Paris. In this particular video, he performed "Tam tam" from his album "Bulles" released in 1981 with US musicians Tony McAlpine, Curt Bisquera, Peter Thron, Reggie Mc Bride... I saw 4 shows and it was just amazing !!! His voice was better than in 2007 and the show was really impressive. It was during the tour in the city of Orléans, he was in an incredible energy : th-cam.com/video/a2aOhE6oOd0/w-d-xo.html
Do you know, Dereck, that he lives (relatively) close to you, in L.A. I wish you could pay him a visit to get a private concert. Though I don't know if he accepted such intrusion in his private live.
Maybe you should (if you didn't yet !) take a look to the album "Bulles", especially "Où est la Tosca" or "Tam-tam (L'Homme préhisto)" - it's very eighties, the "disco" face of Polnareff, with young Hans Zimmer beginning his career, programming synthesizers for Polnareff ! :D

Please react to Time Time by Trei Degete and Offishal by Ambiance Skandal. A short story, these 2 songs were created in 3 days for a challenge to do the best 2000 hit style song. This concept was created by Squeezie, the most popular French TH-camr. And Time Time is in Romanian even if it is French who sings it

Lyrics, music, voice, orchestration...all songs of M.polnareff are so modern. Thank you dereck 🎄👍
Amazing, as usual with Michel Polnareff's old stuff. Pure symphonic pop-rock gold
