J'ai des larmes qui coulent chaque fois que j'entends cette chanson...que dire de plus? C'est au-delà d'une qualité musicale. Ça touche le cœur tout droit. Une des plus belles chansons françaises pour moi.
Elle m'a encore faite pleurer cette chanson..j'ai dit " je t'aime " à mon père très souvent..mais ce n'était pas encore assez..un être exceptionnel, d'une gentillesse...je tm papa..repose en paix...pff ça me fous les boules je sors..bonsoir

Une des plus belles chansons Française... Une magnifique interprétation. Il y a une très belle phrase de Frédéric Dard qui résume parfaitement cette chanson " si j'avais su que je l'aimais tant, je l'aurai aimé davantage" . PS: il y a une très jolie version de Laam et Jean Jacques Goldman au restos du coeur en 2001.

I lost my dad 5 years ago and my mom last month. The emotion was too strong.
So many images came to mind, it shook me. You are never the same person again after the death of your parents.
But well ...Life show must go on.

I lost my mom quite young almost six years ago and this song is hard on me. Because it's true, when you're young you think you'll have many many years with your parents so you don't acknowledge them enough, you don't spend enough time with them, you don't tell them you love them enough, and you regret it sooner or later. That's why I told to all young people I can talk to about things like that : please say "I love you" to your parents, be with them, enjoy the time you have with them. I'd give anything to have my mom back I miss her so much.

Beaucoup d'émotions dans cette chanson. Certains vont la trouver ringarde, peu importe, il suffit d'écouter led paroles pour se rendre compte qu'elle est intemporelle. Signé un "vieux" de 40 ans qui écoute du hardstyle...
Il n'y a rien de ringard en effet, je suis né en 1991 et je trouve cette chanson merveilleuse. J'vais pas dire que j'écoute du Daniel Guichard tous les jours, ce serait mentir, mais cette chanson est une merveille. Amitiés.

J'ai connu mon père avec ce fameux par-dessus, le réveil matinal, le monde ouvrier des années 70 à 80 et les conditions de travail d'une autre époque : amiante, limaille de fer, chauffage au charbon de bois, sans protection pour les poumons.
Chez nous non plus on ne manquait de rien mais on ne roulait pas sur l'or.
Je ne peux l'écouter sans avoir quelques larmes qui montent en repensant à mon père lui aussi parti trop tôt quand je n'étais encore qu'une enfant.🙂

Dammit, just like everyone around, this song gets me every time.
Now I'd rather listen to the studio version for one little detail : there's a chord change at the very very end when he says "Papa" that sends you to the moon, which they didn't include in the live version, and it really does add to the storytelling.
But then again, the live version is good because you can kind of sense the good intent in this man's whole character. He KNOWS he's got the ultimate tear up song in his hands, but he doesn't overplay it. Everyone and their grandmas whole body clenching, yet ... he's just him, doing what he's been doing for years with the same level of humility. Great parallel with the monotony of the whole "old man' song.
And something you cannot hear if you don't speak fluent French but : this man's got an accent. He's got a heavy lower middle class Parisian suburbs (the poor kind of suburbs we got over here in Europe) accent. The story comes from all these little details adding up, and it participates in making it so relatable.
The desolate iaccordeon theme clashing against the violins of the singer's true memories and emotion.
That's the real deal, a bit of an old fashioned song in every regard, but a whole historical era described through the heart of one guy missing his dad.

My husband lost his father when he was only 13, this song is the perfect pain for him, a beautiful but harsh song, especially that he consideres himself not having shared enough with this Father he was loving so much. So much regrets, with flowing tears and my husband is 50 and cop which has known harsh things in his professional Life, nothing touches him more than this song.

I don't know a single French guy who doesn't get emotional listening to this song (i'm not talking about today's youngsters, of course), in fact I am getting a little emotional just writing about it.
