People say you don't get anything out of watching TV. But without New Girl and shows like it, I wouldn't have been introduced to The Shins, The Head and the Heart, and now these guys! TV shows (especially New Girl) have taught me about love, being yourself, heartbreak, ambition, friendship and so much more and for that I can only say thank you.

@@jeFe_3636 I was riding on a bus, on a gorgeous sunny day in Manchester (UK) which in itself is a rare beautiful thing to be celebrated, as Manchester tends be wetter and greyer than even other UK cities, haha, so I was feeling great.
The bus paused in traffic for a second or two, and through the open window came the opening bars of a song being played in a shop, and boom, I knew I loved that song and wanted to hear more.
I spent 5 years trying to track that song down! With no success.
I went to all the shops on that street, staff had no idea what the fuck I was talking about! 'We listen to the radio. Which station? It varies, staff decide. Which on that day? We ain't got no idea!'
I have a lot of friends who love music, including 2 who were DJs at the time. I tried singing it to them (I'm an AWFUL singer), I tried desperately to remember any words I might have heard. One of my friends even taught me to play piano so I could try to PLAY it friends, haha. I even recorded what i thought it sounded like, on my phone, and played it every single person i met, INCLUDING at two job interviews! Haha. (One successful, one not ) but nothing worked.
Then, I was out with the gang on my birthday, at my fave place in the world, one of my mates was DJing, and she says, 'This song is dedicated to Andy. He's so fucking upbeat and positive, it reminds me of him every time I hear it! And BOOM, she played THE SONG! lol. If ever I'm sad, I remember how I felt dancing to that song that day, and I smile instantly! 😍
It sounded NOTHING like my piano recording haha, but I can play it now! 😁😁.

Battling addiction isn't easy but I'm going through changes now.
I just heard this song during a TV commercial for recycling and related to the few words they included. I did some digging and found it. My husband died a year ago this past Christmas and with it has come many changes. I read where you never stop grieving, you just learn to live with it. The lyrics hit my heart on a day when I really needed some encouragement.
