    I really appreciate that you always compare amps to come other ones in your collection. So many amp demos/reviews never give a contrasting tone to help us hear the similarities and differences between amps. These videos are great.

    Great video review and super playing. Just loved that saying of yours about 'playing guitar' rather than spending time tweaking. I have the TH30 through a PPC412 closed or a PCP212 open (or both!) and I don't think it can be beaten for it's versatility. Long live rock and roll, long live Orange. Thanks man, from an old rocker in the home of Orange.

    I’ve been getting more into Orange lately so this was right on time. Especially since Pepper Keenan played a TH30 and the Down stuff had some of my favorite tones (Stone the Crow, On March the Saints, etc).

  • @thracian2072
    @thracian2072 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Euge, I'm curious. I always read online from metal players on forums that supposedly EL-84 amps are not suitable for metal because they can't compete with the bottom end of the big-bottled 6L6s or EL34s and would have a tough time being heard in a mix over a hard hitting metal drummer. What is your opinion please? Thank you.

    • @EugeValovirta230V
      @EugeValovirta230V  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Those people haven’t most likely mixed a metal album (or any style music) or a live show. There’s volume faders on every mixing desk (analog or virtual) so what kind of tubes an amp has is not meaningful from mixing engineers point.
      Bottom end doesn’t make guitars cut through (from a dense mix) but mids & highs.

    • @thracian2072
      @thracian2072 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@EugeValovirta230V Yeah. That makes sense. I'd always thought the bass had the bottom end covered anyway, not the guitar. Thanks, Euge.

    First of all, i just recently became aware of your channel and really enjoyed your demos, because you're always very enthusiastic when you hit the sweet spot of an amp and just let it rip. I ordered an EHX Mig 50, because of your demo :D As far as Oranges go, i'd love to hear what you'd do with a Rockerverb.
    But apart from being a great reviewer of amps i checked out your album on Amazon and holy shit... you are a monster! Some tracks really remind me of Vivian Campbell, early Zakk and even Accept. You're awesome! Keep doing what you do!

    Nice review and great playing as always. Surprisingly, I don't think I've ever played thru an Orange amplifier. I've always wanted to, but never had the opportunity...same with Laney. It sounds good. Orange amps always struck me as having a fuzzy-type of character to them. Marshall amps sound more present and less congested.

    Finally some Orange Love, TH30 is amazing and held up well against 50+100W beasts plus it has two channels. BUT, the 100W power section just has the clarity and punch! Can't wait for you to punish a Rockerverb 100 MKIII. Could you have a look at a song, My Fear and My Faith - Nordic Union?

    Very complete review. A more fair comparison would have been between other amps in the 30w range ie. Marshall 40cr , Engle Fireball 25. Have to say I would to like these amps with real speakers or just a room mike. EL 84 tubes have a Vox sound but I sure love my TH30. The clean channel @ 10 o'clock is ideal for single coils. this is weird. I mean i get that the sound is different as to how you decide to blast this amp. i do get a different sound obviously via a real cab. i have a 2x12 and a 4x12...I also use the Captor X via my own set of Fortin IRs (V30)...and I am using an EMG81/89 loaded Dean Les Paul type. i am getting nowhere near this type of compression/tightness and just overall sound...i get that IRs that Euge is using may be a bit different. Still...is it that CaptorX is so different as a IR Load Box? My 5150 sound wicked through it. I did get a breakthrough on that fron, finally dialing in my board via fron/FX Loop effects...but i plug the same board into the Orange and my sound is waaaaaaay different...and it would be but the tightness is totally lost and i cannot for the life of me use the shape knob to fix it...even with my 7-band EQ in the FX loop...so frustrating...i get the videos are edited...just wondering how much post-eq work was done on these videos...

    TH 30 is a great simple head as stated. Very easy to dial in. Can play at home at 7 watts or gig out at 15 or 30. Personally, the more you push this amp the better it sounds. Cranking 7 watts sounds better than playing 30 turned down. Play loud. Owned a lot of amps in my 58 years and this has been my go to for the past 6 years. I did re-tube with Tung Sol after beating up my stock orange tubes and have continued on with the Tung Sol. Also, I usually play thru one PPC112 closed back orange box. Sometimes I bring 2 .

  • @BlackNabastak

    I have the TH100+ppc412 in bedroom, use it in 30wt mode at evenings :).
    Clean channel is strange, i dont understand what Treble does, yes it changes something but i wouldnt say if it brings more or less highs. Bass knob is working fine though.
    Also Shape knob all the way either left or right makes sound significantly quieter.. maybe on high master volume setting there is no such volume drop (while 100% left or right) but i live in apartment and even at eight o'clock it insanely loud :)

      I have the TH30 and I have played the Dual Terror in a guitar shop. TH30 has a dedicated clean channel with more headroom, that's for sure. While Dual Terror have two channels, both are quite similar, one start breaking before. On the other hand, TH30 has a clean channel and a dirty channel with tons of gain. Better or not depends on your requirements, Dual Terror is also very cool amp, but in brief, if you need a clean channel with tons of volume without start distorting, go for the TH30

I'd be curious to hear your opinion on the crush pro 120, obviously solid state but it gets a lot of love.

    Got to get used to seeing you play a strat😁. That one sounds good. That's a good rock tone amp. Cleans sound pretty good.

    When you have good ears and good hands the rest is easy! Saw the news about "Halo Effect" and Jesper. Does this mean anything for Cyhra or no? All the best to you Euge!

      @EugeValovirta230V  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Indeed 👌.
      Two different bands and Jesper hasn’t been an active member in Cyhra in a few years. I played all guitars & bass on ’No Halos In Hell’ and Marcus Sunesson (guitar) has been officially in the band since 2019.
      Me & Jake are writing songs and doing pre-production for the next Cyhra album atm as usual 👌.
      Thanks!

      I have so many different brands but most of them have Neutrik jacks which is kinda a mark of hi quality cable 😎. I think Cordial cables are the ones I have the most.

      Ah yes indeed. But the tone & design is very British so it’s all good 😎.

    That Orange sounds good in its own way. Pepper Keenan made the CoC sound with Orange Amps. 🤘 Good video Euge.

      Amp doesn't matter. He played with rectifier, mesa cal50, Marshall jcm800. He always sounded the same. The trick is the pick-up...

    • @ArticLight14

      @@jmasson3272 oh my bad. I guess Pepper crediting Orange Amps for their sound doesn’t matter. I’ll be sure to tell him.

      @@ArticLight14 Dude, that kind of compression in coc sound is the sh8. Both Woody and Pepper have it on their guitars. It's as simple as that. Put one on your guitar, turn down 2 steps and you have a fucking compressed heavy sound. I don't Say that that amp is shitty but he had the same sound on a jcm 800 or a mesa boogie. Pepper likes the simplicity of it's orange amp. And I agree, it's their main advantage

    • @EugeValovirta230V
      @EugeValovirta230V  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It does. I think the sound comes from the hands of the player. Each amp just amplifies it a bit differently tonal wise 😎.

    Man... GREAT video brother!!
    I had a Th100 that was hooked to a Marshall HW 4x12 "100", with the G12h55's and traded it for a Randall Thrasher 120 with 2 matching Randall Thrasher 4x12's, after watching a bunch of Ola videos. What a bloody mistake THAT was, but over the years I found a super sweet preamp tube combination along with using 2kt88 and 2 kt66 in the power section and I can get pretty much any sound I want. Except for that plexi sound that I had to but the SV20 that I saw you demo, that I threw kt66's and mullard preamp tunes in.
    This video makes me miss my th100/Marshall hw rig though.....🤓 \m/

    Don't be so Germanic.
    The English "V" is _never_ pronounced like the English "W"m but always like the "German" "W".
