Kratos' rage may've been a unexpected act of mercy for the Hecatoncares. he had been mutilated and taxidermied into serving as a living prison by three soulless monsters, with the recent fight having them use his limbs, bones, and head by disgusting little possessor bugs. then comes in Kratos. though his battle with the Furies, he freed Aeagaeon from his grueling and tortuous fate. he's probably the only 'foe' of Kratos that actually be thankful for his bloodthirsty tendencies.

Same would apply to Prometheus in God of War 2. Interesting detail about Hecatonchires is that his eyes do not move at all. That implies he is not there at all. That is just his body doing the bidding of Furies.

But did he really die? Without the parasites controlling him he may just fainted, since he didn't suffer any letal injuries.
I remember showing this to my dad and he was glued to the seat like he was watching a movie. Id already beaten it once so I was able to almost glide through it and make a seamless experience for him.

(meant god of war) Put that one"..Apparently he liked watching me play that game coz of the graphic at that time, the actions the camera angles the scenaries the narration of the story..i mean who wouldnt..

Hecatonchires are described as giant Titans with 100 arms and 50 heads. Apparantly they helped Zeus to overcome the Titans, after he freed them from their inprisonment by Uranos, who was emasculated by Kronos.

I agree with you in a sense, but live action adaptations of video games have a bad habit of not panning out well recently. Take what they tried with Halo and Borderlands for example.

I think Kratos killing Aegeon was for the better. He was alive when they built buildings on his body and when he was infected and transformed by the parasites, it was just another layer of pain for him. So Kratos pulling a Prometheus on him was kinda better
To think that a hecatonchires became a prison. Fate worse than death.
Kratos killing him was in a way a mercy kill.

@@raidenakajacktheripper5988 Actually, he vanishes because he's the playable character in the multiplayer. Yes this game had a multiplayer. When you boot the multiplayer up for the first time, that cutscene will play and that character will be taken to a character customization.

I absolutely love this boss. The sound design is awesome, I keep coming back to this video just for the roars of the infected hands alone. Also the visual design of Aegaeon is so different compared to anything I've personally seen. A giant being with 100 arms having a prison built in and around it and also having parasites coming out of its hands is just mind blowing to me.
Whoever came up with the design of it did an amazing job.
Agreed, even as I learn 3D modelling my love of this horrific boss and it's design keeps growing.
Every now and then I make a new Hecetonchires to mark my progress to success, trying to keep the polycount as low as possible while making as many arms as possible is a fun challenge. One day I hope to make something a fraction as beautiful and horrifying as this design.

@@djdocdragon428 well they did say that death was too kind of a fate for him. So they made an example out of him and kept him alive and made him feel every bit of pain possible while Building the prison up to this point.
This was the most disturbing boss I have ever seen in GOW.

Man. To have all of that all around your body with insects tearing you apart from the inside out, quite literally. What the hell did he do to deserve such a tragic fate? It was actually pretty sad to see his eyes come alive as the insects crawl their way in right under his eyes.

The hand monsters sound like MUTOs from Godzilla 2014.
i don't know how they did this on ps3, but the way light partially shines through and diffuses in shin and bones is gorgeous! (look at 6:39 to see what I mean)

disregarding graphics, this Hundred Armed one has to be at least twice larger than Cronos...I just can't see how he isn't... To think that anyone can imagine anything to stand firm amidst the sheer size and scope of this being.. let alone a mortal-human!? Astounding...

The Hecatonchires is supposed to be stronger than all titans combined. Apparently the blood oath they swore to Zeus was during the Titanomachy, they helped overthrow the titans and they were responsible for safe-guarding Tartarus.
There were three of them in Greek Mythology, all of them sons of Gaia.
@@IanLEAU Sons of Gaia and Uranus. Uranus sent them to Tartarus and refused to name them after seeing how repulsive they were compared to the Titans that preceded them. When Cronus/Kronos took over, the Hecatonchires attacked him and the Titans. Realizing that he couldn’t control them, Kronos locked each up into Tartarus one at a time. Zeus, the youngest son of Kronos, went to them eventually and promised them freedom in exchange for fighting against the Titans on the side of the Gods. Two of them ended up being the new guards/masters of Tartarus, and one of them married Poseidon’s daughter and settled in a palace under the sea.

This is kratos’ first adventure and he is already taking down some of the mythology’s strongest monsters
I think Chains of Olympus (the one in which Kratos kills Persephone and Charon) is chronologically first and even that happens after he become Ares' henchman and killed his family. This happens just before God of War (the first).

Literally nobody got more out of the PS3 than the God of War developers.. this shot still looks incredible.

God, this boss is the pure definition of Body horror. The way his eyes move in absolute horror ñ at 10:25 knowing he is unable to do anything about his fate really makes me feel uneasy.
