      I have already started on the GTO because I wanted to see what the fuss was all about concerning it. They will be on the channel as I get them done. Hopefully I can get the majority completed by the end of the year. Thanks for watching!

      Thanks! Yeah, that price took me completely by surprise as well. I just happened to open the app at the right time. Two days later, the price went back up. I just got really lucky that day. Thanks for watching.

    That Merc will look good in a Perl white or Pearl Green with white interior

      Thanks for your suggestion. I have only done one other car in pearl white and it turned out pretty well. The way I went about getting that color was a little sketchy but in the end it turned out pretty nice. When you say pearl green are you talking about a light green? Or, a darker green?

    I built that Gran Torino about a year ago. It's a nice kit , you'll enjoy it. I've been eyeing that 61 Ford.

    • @scaleautoguysworkbench
      @scaleautoguysworkbench  หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Torino caught my eye almost right away. It practically jumped off of the shelf at me. The Walmart where I got the 61 Ford only had three or four of them when I got mine, so, they're going fast. I can't wait to start on all of these but I have been sidetracked by a failed display shelf that damaged 11 builds. I'm in the process of repairing the builds and building a new and better display shelf. Thanks for watching!

    Hey as far as the 70 chevy blazer goes, that's a super fun kit to build, Im interested to see how yours turns out. Now about the 67 GTO I have built that one too, it is a little finicky, but it builds into a nice model, I did not have any problem with the front grill and bumper, it actually went together pretty well. After all it is an MPC kit, Im not sure if you ever built the MPC fun country charger ? Everyone said that one was a bear to build , that one was fun build and was not bad at all. You and I know that most Revel kits go together well, and the Mobius kits are great, to be honest I have had some AMT kits that I put in the box and put them out of sight they were that bad. Myself I like a challenge and have been building models since I was 11 years old and Im an old man now, I feel like you hit it on the head about possibly some of the people that had problems with the 67 GTO may not have the experience. Some kits can be trying but I bet you will have good luck with your GTO . Looks like you made a great haul, very nice of your wife to think about you and bring you three kits home. Im looking forward to when you build these kits you shared today! Take care happy modeling!!

      @scaleautoguysworkbench  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank You for the great comment! I have sort of started the GTO but was suddenly, and without warning, interrupted by a shelf that was holding 11 built vehicles give way to its own weight and came crashing to the floor. I have finally finished putting them all back together and now I can resume with the GTO. I haven't built the Country Charger yet but I think that I may have one in my stash somewhere, so I will eventually get around to building it. Like you, I have been building since about 1969 and I'm not getting any younger myself. I know enough to get me through the difficult kits. They might not look like a super shiny 2k covered kit, but I do alright. Have a great weekend!

    I'm working on the 64 Park Lane right now. Going with Coral Pink with white top and interior. I always liked the browns Ford had in the 70's. I gotta get that 61 Galaxie myself.

    • @scaleautoguysworkbench
      @scaleautoguysworkbench  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Your Park Lane sounds like it is going to be terrific looking! I have always liked the paint colors that FoMoCo has applied to their lineup. I have only owned one Ford in my lifetime and it was a gold-ish brown color. Most people laugh when I tell them which model it was but I can honestly say that I couldn't kill that car and I tried. I had a 74 Pinto wagon. I got the car for next to nothing and I put that car through the wringer. I sold it for twice as much as I paid for it and it was still running like a champ. I can't wait to get started on that 61 but I have four kits in the mix already. So, it will just have to wait its turn... Thanks for watching!

    When I was 16 back in "75 a friend of mine had a 64 marauder. It was all original dark maroon body with a black interoir. It was a good looking car and had a 390 under thd hood. It could burn rubber like crazy!!! Whatever color you choose I'm sure it will look good!!!

    • @scaleautoguysworkbench
      @scaleautoguysworkbench  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I read your comment and it brought back some memories of a long lost friend of mine. His mom had a 73 LTD that would do the same thing. I don't remember what engine it had but that car would straight up scald those rear tires! I had considered a black cherry metallic color for the 61 Ford but that color would look equally great on the Merc. Thanks for your input and for bringing back a memory for me.

    Check the fit of the grille/bumper of that 67' GTO, it's a terrible fit out of the box and needs some work to fit right. The rear also sits too high because of the spacing pegs and those decals don't follow the lines of the car.

    • @scaleautoguysworkbench
      @scaleautoguysworkbench  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Great advice! I had heard the there was a fitment problem with the grille but this is the first I have heard about the rear end ride height. As I was looking at the decals I had noticed that they didn't look quite right. I most likely won't use them anyway. Thanks for your feedback on that kit!

    I'm going to paint my 64 Mercury light yellow like the light yellow at the Mustang spring time yellow. Would like to get a wagon of this 60 and 70 cars to. Look E bay for resin or 3d prints for some kits, since I live in Norway so is the shipping and tax to expensive. But have some kits to build. I have by Revell's Pontiac gto because all this complains at the mpc kit.. keep up with your good work. I'm just one of this so have not suscribe at your Chanel. Does not have this hobby store in Norway.

      Your color choice for your 64 Mercury sounds really nice. I have spent some time in Europe in my younger days. Mostly, Italy, Spain, France and Sicily. So I fully understand how hard it is to find model kits there. I have already started the GTO kit just to see what the complaints are all about. There is a moderate amount of flash on the parts but I have worked with worse kits. Thanks for watching!

    Can't wait to see your take on the Marauder....I'm close to finishing one of them and it looks great in pearl white. It's a screw bottom car which is kinda disappointing but otherwise it's a great kit so far.
    The Galaxie would look great in basically any shade of blue or teal, maybe you add some color shift to it as well?
    I've never built that particular GTO kit but I did build the Weekend Warrior version, and found it to be depressingly underdetailed and it had quality control issues. So if the 2 kits are from the exact same molds then you can expect lots of flash.

    • @scaleautoguysworkbench
      @scaleautoguysworkbench  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for the great advice! The Marauder, I think, might be going with a copper color on that one. I agree that the Galaxie would look good in maybe a Sapphire blue metallic or maybe that peacock pearl that I painted the Super Bee in. I'm kind of chomping at the bit for that GTO just to see what it's all about. I might have to drop the cars that I'm currently working on and start that GTO next.
