That’s a great way to explain how to do it. Cool stuff! The eyes being drawn to the bigger parts is also the mentality used in transformations in the movies themselves. You can do slower transformations but you have to carefully plan it, and with mainline figures it becomes definitely much harder.
I appreciate it! And I actually didn't know that! But it does make sense to know that when I think about it. I want to test a slower transformation sometime soon, and I plan on trying it with my custom SS Primal. Hopefully, it turns out half as good as yours are! I also hope it was okay to use your channel as an example!! If not, I can take it down immediately!
Fast transformations are fun, personally, I enjoy it when they're a bit slower so you can watch all the moving parts like many of the transformations in the 2007 movie.
Definitely helped my transformations 😂😂. But you're absolutely right, it takes a lot of practice. Took me about a year maybe even 2 to get animation down packed
Thank you very much! And this series is basically doing the "basics" of everything, from transformations to walking. I wanted to give an overview of how I go about my transformations and let you guys experiment with the rest!
Dude thank you ! As a stop motion animator thank you so much. I only recently discovered your channel but this actually helped a lot. I watched the other tutorial too and I’m trying to get a lap top for my canon camera but thank you for explaining it the way you did it made so much sense and I understood it more then the lazy eye brow’s tutorial thank you for all of these tips and your making become better at this. Till all are one
Of course! Glad I was able to help, and welcome to the channel! I’m planning on trying to explain everything an animator would need in terms of the basics so I’ll take yall under my wing ;)
I prefer to animate my transformations at different speeds. Certain movements can take longer to maneuver. Kind of like how The Last Knight Optimus transforms. Some parts move into place, there’s a brief pause, and then he finishes transforming.
@@Thunderwing-Studios The only problem with animating something like this woth masterpiece figures is that you have to move hundreds of parts at the same time and make them slowly move
@@LimeeAnims Well that’s the beauty of it!! The challenge, being able to do it with something extremely difficult will suck in the moment, but will be totally worth it when you see the full thing!
Great tutorial! The biggest problem I’ve had with transforming has always been keeping them steady, but you already explained that in the last video so I’m good to go, thanks dude!
@@Thunderwing-Studios I learned about the type of background to use while takking figures to a set, Cardboard, or wood. Because paper leaves sticky resedue and I was looking for an alternative Backgorund for takking.

For me when I animate transformations, I like to find a nice transformation sound effect and animate the transformation's keyframes to the "beat". Each "segment" should be done by the end of each significant "syllable" of the sound effect. It makes it nice, punchy, and best of all fast.
@@Thunderwing-Studios it's how they animated them in the G1 cartoon! Usually the major "steps" of the transformation (stand up, arms come out, body is fully defined, robot mode), are each set to a "tcherch" sound during the sound byte!

Ive always loved animating transformations because of the ways you can cheat it!

I think for the next tutorial it could be fights or a walk and run cycle, I have been struggling with both of these so anything will do
Oooo good idea!! I’ll keep that in mind when I make the poll :)
Awww, Bumblebee and Optimus are so cute 😍 I'll have to put this technique into practice for my next project.
Glad I was able to help!!

I love the way you explain things! I’ll try to use these techniques more often😁
I appreciate it!! Glad it was helpful!!!
In my opinion that was awesome! But, I think you should’ve added where they run and transform or jump out of a jump and land then transform…

Can I use your idea of them going to the drive-in theater?
Sure! Since I got the idea from rotb it’s technically not mine. Go right ahead :)

So people don't really need to see the full on transformation. Just a couple here and there and then Bing Bang boom.
