    Always keep this in mind: carbon ceramic rotors are pretty sensitive to cleaning products. They are porous as well, meaning cleaning products will soak deep into the rotor. Using the wrong products on carbon ceramic rotors will lead to discoloring, impact brake performance and potentially severely damage the material itself.
    The reality is that wheels sporting carbon ceramic brakes are the easiest wheels to clean. Carbon ceramic brakes produce virtually zero brake dust. What’s on the wheels will be what’s on your paint: normal road dirt from driving around.
    I don’t recommend the use of any fallout removers (the ones that turn red/purple) on your wheels unless you fully remove them from the car. If you remove the wheels, you can use any product you like with no worry of hurting the rotors.

    Great video as always and love the advice of pre-spraying the vehicle with a rinseless solution (McKee's is my favorite) so that hopefully those against rinseless see some of its capabilities and become more comfortable with the idea.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Steven! Rinseless washes are great as a pre-treatment on a vehicle, as they will encapsulate loose dirt and debris and add lubrication on the surface.
      So even if someone doesn't use the rinseless wash to clean their car (I still use the traditional two bucket system), using a rinseless wash as a pre-treatment before washing is a great idea.

    • @bullrage74
      @bullrage74 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PanTheOrganizer I've been doing a hybrid wash method of pre-treatment, rinse off, contact wash with rinseless, and dry to get the benefits of both methods without using as much water as the two bucket.

    My detailer told me that there was no problem using Iron X on CCB's, because it"s not alcalin.
    He even said that Aston Martin is using Iron X on their racing cars, equipped with CCB's, what are your thoughts on this ?
    I prefer to be safe and use regular Gyeon car shampoo with a mit on my ceramic coated wheels.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I personally don't recommend using iron removers on wheels with CCB's. You can "technically" use an iron remover as most of them are pH neutral (like CarPro IronX). They only become slightly acidic when the reaction happens on the wheels with the ferrous particles. But it's best if you remove the wheels first before doing a thorough cleaning with an iron remover if you absolutely want to use one. That way you won't affect the rotors.
      But again, there's no real point in using an iron remover when you have carbon ceramic discs, as they don't release iron particles much, if any at all depending on the blend in the rotor.
      The reality is that wheels sporting carbon ceramic brakes are the easiest wheels to clean! Carbon ceramic brakes produce virtually zero brake dust. What’s on the wheels will be what’s on your paint: normal road dirt from driving around.
      I hope this helps.

    • @Theonlywone

      @@PanTheOrganizer Thank you so much for clarifying! Your knowledge is really amazing! I'm not using Iron X as I prefer to be careful (CCB's are really expensive to replace).

    Hi Pan, my car is using the normal disc brake (I don't know what it's called). I always have problem with whole surface looks rusty when in contact with water. Using CarPro Iron X will change it to purple color, but once I rinse it off, the surface still looks very much rusty. The next day when I need to use the car, the moment I release the brake, I can hear a bang on the brake (it's like the brake is sticking on the disc). Is this normal to see those rusty surface? It's kinda annoying that the whole car is cleaned, but the disc brake looks brown and rusty. Haha.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Steve. You have traditional steel rotors (made from iron). Yes it's totally normal to get what we call "flash rust" or surface rust on them after washing your car.
      To help prevent that, you have two classic options:
      1) As soon as you're done with the final rinse, drive up and down your driveway while applying the brakes. This should dry them quickly. Then dry your car as per usual. That should prevent rust from forming.
      2) As soon as you're done with the final rinse, you can spray Hyde's Serum Rustopper directly on the discs, that will help prevent that surface rust from forming. Here's a link to the product: bit.ly/3vKxEA8
      I hope this helps.

    Everywhere I've read, it says you're not supposed to spray any silica, waxes or harsh cleaners on carbon ceramic rotors. Supposedly this ruins the rotors braking capabilities because they are so porous it will seep into the cracks and never be the same. Isn't carpro HydrO2 lite a silica spray?

      You found the right channel to help you learn everything about detailing.
      There are lots of misconceptions about carbon ceramic rotors. Most car manufacturers state to only clean wheel with a gentle pH neutral shampoo as they don't know what products people will use, so they want to avoid people using strong acid based wheel cleaners on them. So it makes sense for the manufacturer to recommend an "one size fits all" approach so that idiots don't ruin their wheels.
      But when you know what you're doing, and you use appropriate products and methods, there are no worries. I have been using my methods for years on carbon ceramics, including my own Porsche 911 Turbo S, and never once had an issue. And everyone I know that does the same is in the same boat. My friend Matt from Obsessed Garage has a 911 GT3, had a previous 911 GT3 RS, had a GT4 and a BMW M3 with carbon ceramics, uses the same methods and products, and also never had issues.
      Most of the time, as those discs generate little to no brake dust, all you need really to clean your wheels is a pH neutral shampoo. But using a dedicated wheel and tire cleaner like P&S Brake Buster is also perfectly fine when used correctly.
      I would avoid using acid based wheels cleaners (like Meguiar's Wheel Brightener) on those types of wheels though, and never work in direct sunlight.

      Je fais le pré-lavage au canon à mousse et je rince. Ensuite, je vaporise le produit insectes sur la carrosserie, je laisse agir, puis je procède au rinçage. Ensuite je fais le lavage du véhicule comme d'habitude. Le produit pour insectes aide à ramollir les résidus d'insectes et faciliter le lavage par la suite.
      Tu peux aussi vaporiser le produit d'insectes avant le pré-lavage. Ça n'a plus ou moins d'importance.

    Hey Pam I got a quick question? Will the ceramic spray Hurt the rotors or the brake pads? I have just regular rotors and brake pads, but I’ve heard that if the chemicals attaches it selve to the rotors or the brake pads it could mess up your breaking performance, just a quick question something that I’ve heard around

  • @ralphlauren6094
    @ralphlauren6094 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do not use high alkaline cleaner and yet p&s brake buster is ok? 😅Correct me if I am wrong but based on the sds this is ph 11. I have not seen a wheel and TIRE cleaner that is ph neutral.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brake Buster was just for the tires. ;)
      But it’s still fine to use on the wheels even if you have ceramic brakes as long as you are careful.
      The notice was more for people who might use a harsher high pH APC to clean wheels. Not all chemicals are made the same. You can have a “safe” pH 11 product that won’t damage things and have another pH 11 product that could potentially affect the finishes. Chemistries are all different.

      @@PanTheOrganizer It would be fun if you could do a litmus test to most of the products that you are using. In that way, we the consumers/viewers can have an objective data rather than subjective. Out of the many factors that can make a product great, at least by determining the ph level, we have one piece of the puzzle. Also, we are able to confirm if the data in the sds (if available) are true. If we could approach things in an objective way, it would be really great. Peace! Thanks Pan!

    Salut ma question n’a pas trop rapport avec la vidéo mais il y a quelque mois je t’avais demandé quelle produit tu me conseillais pour enlever de la peinture de route(ligne jaune/blanche)mon véhicule noir est rempli de picot partout et sa me fais vraiment chi**
    Je voulais faire un céramique coating avec tout tes étapes mais je pense qu’il serait très nécessaire de tout enlever la peinture de route…j’ai vu quelque personne utiliser du goof off mais j’hésite, je sais que tu m’avais conseillé des produits mais je retrouve plus mon commentaire😅En même temps je voulais savoir c’est quel TON préféré ceramic coating car il en a tellement que je ne sais pas quelle prendre et sur ta chaine tu en a présenté plusieurs😅merci beaucoup d’avance tes vidéos sont exceptionnelles

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh mon dieu Alex, je déteste me répéter! LOL Tu n'as pas pris de notes!? Si tu n'as pas enlevé les picots depuis le temps, il se peut qu'ils soient encore plus difficile à retirer. Plus tu attends, plus ça devient difficile.
      Tu peux utiliser le produit pour retirer le vernis à ongles (nail polish remover) que tu mets sur un chiffon microfibre et tu frottes légèrement. L'acétone fonctionne bien aussi. Toujours commencer par des endroits moins visible pour voir l'effet du produit.
      Un de mes préférés est Citrol 266: amzn.to/390yyiY
      Tu peux aussi utiliser le Goof Off professional strength: amzn.to/3vPMvcm
      Laves le véhicule avant de commencer. Utilises le produit. Rinses bien après usage, et relaver le véhicule pour neutraliser tout résidu de produit.
      Pour les céramiques, ça dépend de ton budget. Mais mes produits préférés sont toujours listés dans ma remise annuelle de prix de detailing ici: th-cam.com/video/GW3Br5dmmoU/w-d-xo.html
      J'espère que ça va t'aider.

    Hi Pan, sorry to go off topic, but wondered if you had seen Yvan Lacroix on the recent Apex video “Dropping Knowledge…” At 12:25 he talks about rotary polishers being safer on paint than a DA. This contradicts everything I have seen on many detailers videos. Would be interested in your comments.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t use rotaries as much, I prefer dual action. Arguments can be made for both sides. In my opinion, a rotary is safe only if used in expert hands with lots of polishing experience. Yvan has over three decades of experience. Is it safe for him? Absolutely.
      At the end of the day, it should be more about achieving the best possible results, regardless of what type of polisher a person prefers to use…
