I honestly believe the absence of a gear position indicator is that much of a deal breaker, it's just a showpiece in my opinion. Those who know their bike don't need such a fancy feature. Those who doesn't know which gear they are in without looking at the console should get a good lesson on how to ride better.

Hi bro, I have apache 160 4v, 3 months old.. around 3100 kms ridden. From past 1 month, my bike's engine (or something from engine side) is making loud noise...its like as if engine is having too much load on it while running. Specially when speed is between 38-52 kmph. I am using motul 7100 10W40 engine oil and had it since 2500 kms ridden. Also, gear shifts are not smooth. Specially first and second gear. And the rear disc brake is making squeaking noise when i apply brakes. Please help me in resolving these issues. Even if i go to service center, what am i supposed to ask them to check? Plz help

Handling is super.. it gives me 35 kmpl at speed of 40 to 50.. 28kmpl at speed of 70 to 80.. my byke is new it rans 3000 kilometers.. showroom said it gives best milege after six thousans odo....
Breaking is quite decent , I test it personally and didn't find any lack on breaking , though the breaking distance is a bit longer but it's very enough to stop the bike on safer side.

Hey bro, great content n detailed review. Have a question for u.. I recently bot the RTR 200 2.0 edition and the bike is super amazing. And my personal choice is having a single piece handle bar just like the 160 RTR has. Can the 160 handle bar set up be put on a 200 RTR? Bcoz i really felt 160 has a bit more comfort compared to 200. I am used to the royal enfield bullet from a decade and RTR 200 seems to have a very agressive seating position. Plz advise on this and all r welcome to comment on this.
I bought this bike a month ago and I'm in love with this machine. Power, mileage, looks, comfort, everything is great, bit pricey if you ask me but still worth it.
Seat height is definitely problem for short riders.. Tvs would have thought about it...780-790 mm with little reduction in ground clearance about 160-170mm would have been done

Afsar Abbas shifting from 1st to 2nd gear is hard sometimes resulting in false gear shift.. also sometimes the gear position indicator displays wrong gear number (turning off and on solves it).. does it happens to you too? I own the fi variant
For good fuel economy but just a tat high maintenance go for the fi.. you get a gear position indicator too with the fi but not with the carburettor. The fi variant is a bit more smoother than the carb variant.. I will always go for fi than carb.. check some carb vs fi videos if you have any doubts.. whatever you do ,just don't buy the rear drum variant.

but one thing here. the 0-60 time here for this one is slower than its predecessor moreover even the top speed of the older version is higher and it wins easily against the 4v. Plus the older version i felt corners perfectly if you get used to it and know how to actually corner on twisties. though the older version had a hell lot of vibes like an harassment to the rider and the speed i cruise at for the older version is nearly 95-110kmph easily for longer distances

Guys, I recently bought a new TVS Apache RTR 160 4V but it gives me a burning hardened plastic/ metallic smell from close to the engine area. I raised this issue to the dealer but I was told it is because of the paint coating the inside of the engine. This particular smell comes even after 5 Kms. What can be the cause?

Its a good bike there is no doubt about it....but they should adopt a new colours variants like white with black & black with red and graphics designs should be more in this segment bikes & also ABS is missing...so if it's included few atleast...then deffenately the customers wil get satisfied and will buy this...
I have spent an year with this bike and I still do not feel comfortable with its seating posture. I am 5'11" and I feel as if I am sitting on top of this bike. The foot pegs are high but are "not rear set enough for that low handle bar". This is a shame because its been designed by the racing department of TVS or may be it's my height that is not suited for this bike. If they are providing a low handle bar then the foot pegs should also go a little behind. One does not find this issue in Pulsar 160 NS/200NS, or Gixxer, or Hornet or FZ. In this bike one feels sitting on top of something and with that because the breaks are weak you feel like in a very vulnerable position to topple over the handle during hard breaking...Difficult to find a perfect riding position in this bike for my height. IF you can live with the seating posture and can adjust yourself to those weak breaks then its the best bike in this segment.
How to fix the headlight issue ? I also have a unicorn 160 with a similar problem, it's headlight is simply not powerful enough to use on darker roads, not even on the high beam.
Do you think TVS has matured enough to offer good enough reliability, especially compared to stalwarts like Suzuki? I've had some very bad experience with TVS Wego.

Carburettor is better as it's very cheaper to repair compared to FI engine but mileage is better in FI, now the decision is yours to make 😃

Guys I own a carb with rear disc varient this bike and completed 2000 kms, but trust me I never got more than 35kmpl milage. Even on highways.
