- After giving us very exciting Apaches for the last couple of years, in the form of the RTR 200 and the RR 310, TVS has turned its attention to the baby Apache... the RTR 160. But this Apache RTR 160 4V isn’t a mere facelift. It’s all new.
It’s powered by a 159.7cc single cylinder air cooled motor that’s been derived from the RTR 200, and features a 4-valve head along with oil cooling. Available in both fuel injected and carbureted versions, it’s the most powerful bike in its segment.
Hi everyone... I’m sure you’re all keen on finding out the MILEAGE of this Apache RTR 160 4V. Just wanted to let all of you know that this was just a first short ride of the bike on the TVS test track at Hosur. We will be getting the bike with us soon for a full road test, and then we’ll be able to test the real world fuel efficiency for you. So do stay tuned... cheers 🙂

Super bro indias 1st 180 cc and 200 cc bike have the dual channek abs. Tvs providing good features on its products. I lov my bike rtr 200 2.0 abs.

i did 122 on my first generation rtr 160. But the vibrations.. Man.. If it is as smooth as he say it, then tvs has come a long way. Now i own a dominar but i'll take the test ride of this bike just to know how it feels.

What is the milage with carburettor version and what is with FI version. Does it has slipper clutch or not. You didnt described these 2 things

Can you please tell about the mileage of this bike from a perspective of using it in a city?
Will there be a new RTR 180? I have done 0-60 in 4.2 sec on older 180 and I am not even a pro. That bike still is king of initial pickup even for a segment above bikes. TVS please bring back the 180 without changing it's character.
Abhishek Gupta in the launch presentation of this bike, TVS mentioned that there will be a RTR 180 4V as well, in the near future.

@Zigwheels Trust the ABS is mandatory for new bikes launched after April 2018 and not for the ones which are already launched. Can you please confirm
Mohan Nanwani hey dude. Yeah that's true. New bikes launched after 1st April 2018 will have to get compulsory ABS (above 125cc) and combined brakes (below 125cc). Existing products will have to feature ABS/CBS from 1st April 2019.

This essentially means that we would not necessarily get an ABS option for Apache 160 4v from April onwards, as claimed in this video.
Mohan Nanwani I’ve actually said that we’ll have to wait till April 2019 for ABS, unless TVS decides to launch the ABS version before that. 😊

seriously TVS has to consider in apache series engine smoothness and vibration....recently i drove 301rr shit it vibrates a lot and i felt bad....many now saying 200rtr and 160 rtr engines are nice hope so
i had driven rc 390, fz 25. cbr 250, dominar too....recently i drove 310rr 80kms there is lot of vibrations in handle bars i felt worst engine in the segment...TVS mostly concentrating on power, low end punch and stability in turns ...TVS should consider engine refinement too

Why you forgot to mention racing slipper clutch feature?
Jaydeep Panchal the Apache RTR 160 4V doesn’t get a slipper clutch. TVS is only offering that on the new RTR 200 4V Race edition.
I don't think ABS is necessary in 150-160cc segments.

Every rider apply the panic brakes on bike. So we need abs features on above 125cc bike. Thats is govt rules also at 2019. I am using apache 200 abs. Its save many time my life. Thanks for tvs company.

Rear width isn't 130-70/17, whereas just 110-70/17
Hi Shubham... the rear disc brake variants of the RTR160 4V get a 130/70-17 tyre at the back. Only the rear drum brake variant gets the 110/80-17 rear tyre.

Fahad Nathani TVS hasn’t claimed mileage yet and we couldn’t test it out on their test track. We’ll do a proper
mileage run once we get the bike for a road test though. As for top speed, TVS claims 114kmph (FI) and 113kmph (carb). Mind you these are real speeds, not speedo indicated. On the test track, even with my weight I saw 120 once, and the lighter guys reported seeing 124-126. Cheers!
