      Yea it's a tough one because you don't want to let anyone down or seem 'flaky'...Wishing you the best of luck! What did you decide to do and how did it go?

    Hi dear, it was great on how this went, i did so although without actual signing contract yet, that company HR said they would block my resume from the rest of their company which was kinda suck but yeah in SEA countries the working culture may be more unpredictable so it's kinda relevant.

    I accepted my first job offer, then got my dream job. It was a no brainer; the first job offer was in a rural town far from everything else.

    Calling them is like giving them a heart attack in some fields. I think it’s better to email and offer to talk on phone call if needed. It’s also very awkward if they say that you can be sued on the phone.

      Interesting! What field do you work in? I've always been in more customer-facing roles or management so I am definitely biased!

      I guess I'd probably also want to know before I put anything in writing if they are going to be quite so hostile!

    In this position right now. I am extremely conflicted as to what to do as I just signed a contract two days ago. I have been offered a much better role, basically my dream company and my dream role but I was expecting them to say no. I want to accept this second offer and I do have some time to say no, but the contract I have already signed needs me to join in the next week and I am not sure whether I should go down the road of backing out of a signed contract.

    I signed a contract with a new place due to start in 3 weeks. Had to apply for a new job due to current job being temporary however they have now offered me a role but in another place. It’s further away but more pay and I’m struggling with the fact I signed a contract and dont want to make the wrong decision.

    Girl I’m dying at that dance break scene however after signing the contract I realized they were a very shady company who verbally abuse their employees 😬

    I would like to ask if I could I still back out when I have signed the offer letter but I still haven't been trained or given a specific date when I'll start training, they told me to wait but its been a week now and I haven't heard from them. I would really like to know my grounds as a employee.

    Hello Madam,
    I have a question, is there are any consequences if decline job appointment letter after accepting (if appointment letter mentioned specific class as " if I don't join on said date, need to pay damages and need to appear in court).
    Please clarify - Thanks

    • @eva.evangelou
      @eva.evangelou  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They could if that's the contract clause. While unlikely in most cases companies would pursue this I would recommend getting proper legal advice.

    You’re not signing a contract just a piece of paper they want you to think is a contract.

    Hello, Good Day! I have a question.
    Can you make an employee pay for not continuing the contract before the school starts in a private school? I signed the contract last April. And eventually, I decided to retract it due to personal reasons. Now the school is asking me to pay them amounting P20,000 for retracting the contract that I haven’t started working yet. I hope you can help me. Thank you.

      @eva.evangelou  ปีที่แล้ว

      In theory it would have to have included some kind of forfeit clause in your contract or they can sue for damages - this almost never happens. Though I would always suggest seeking legal advice if they did decide to pursue. How did this resolve?
