    Can you elaborate what you did at 4:40? You used a shortcut command, but is there a button for what you did?
    I've never used Rhino, only Solidworks/Fusion/Modo/Cinema4D.
    I'm designing vases for manufacturing and wondering if Rhino is the right choice for it, it seems easier to make organic shapes than in fusion and i dont need all the assembly and engineering functions that fusion has. Sorry if it's an obvious question! Thank you!

    • @simpernchong
      @simpernchong  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can press TAB key to toggle between block and soft mode. Yes, Rhino will be one of the best tool for creating vase. In Rhino 7, the subD is much more comprehensive than what is shown is this video which is in Rhino 6. Please do subscribe as you can find structured Rhino video tutorials here by going to to my main channel page at th-cam.com/channels/CxmxlvAOu_RplZuhh0YEew.html

    Thank you for this tutorial! Is there any method to control the roundness of the object when the SubD was applied?

    • @simpernchong
      @simpernchong  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Maybe not in Rhino 6. But in Rhino 7, you can use InsertEdge to control the roundness of sub-D corners.

    I do have a problem that some surfaces are missing when I run the Tosubd command, and a complete mesh cannot be generated. What may be the causes? thank you!

    • @simpernchong
      @simpernchong  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmmm... I am not too sure. It could be that the mesh is overlapping or non-manifold. Maybe can try ExtractNonManifoldMeshEdges and/or meshrepair commands to check ??

  • @Slato

    the mesh or tosubd doesnt register in keyshot when i open it up for rendering is there something i can do?

    • @simpernchong
      @simpernchong  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmm.. The subD has to be converted to NURBS using ToNURBS command. The rhino file has to be saved in Shaded or Rendered mode. Cheers
