The illegitimate children were easily distinguishable by the last names they were given: 'Snow' in the North, 'Rivers' in the Riverlands where Catleyn Stark's father Lord Hoster Tully rules, 'Stone' in the Vale of Arryn, 'Hill' in the Lannister stronghold, 'Flowers' in the HighGarden where the Tyrells are lords, 'Storm' in the Stormlands/Dragonstone where Stannis is, 'Sand' in Dorne way south, 'Pike/Pyke' where the Greyjoys are, and 'Waters' in the Crownlands. That is why the characters immediately call them 'bastards' as soon as they hear any of these names.

"Hush now child. I'm off to see your father." gets me every time 😭💔
I'm glad you've had some faith in Theon, because his conflict is so apparent. He's caught between two families and two identities. The Starks have been gentle captors, but Theon has still grown up with a sword hanging above his neck should his father rebel again. He has still been forced into a new culture and made to abandon the culture of his birth. Now he doesn't feel at home in either, he's without roots as a young man wishing to prove himself in so many ways, and it's leading him astray, one misdeed after another, and the more misdeeds he commits, the more he has to succeed for them to have been worth it. And there is no turning back to who he was; now he is truly lost.

When Charles Dance angrily yells "to the Starks of Winterfell" during the war council meeting, for a second I forget it's a show and start having bootcamp ptsd. That man has such an intimidating presence.

In my 8 times watching the entire series and about 10 reactors watch this, I NEVER thought it could be the other girl..makes sense, they did have jealousy, and she helped teach the dragons to eat. Great job.

At least you understand were Theon is coming from, even though he is doing bad things.

I tried to have patience and understanding. His facial expressions told me he didn’t want to kill Rodrick

It's fun to see the Jon Snow/Ygritte chemistry in retrospect. Kit Harrington (Snow) met Rose Leslie (Ygritte) on the show, and they (the actors) are married now. The chemistry between the two is very real.

Isn't crazy how us as viewers eventually become numb or accustomed to the violence in this show? Like when the Hound rips out dude's guts and your like "Yeah, Bit**, that's what YOU get!" Lmao.

Lmaooo well when you put it like that. I’ve had to become numb because that’s just what it is now 😂, I have to embrace it or reject it, and since I’m still watching, I guess embracing it is what I’m doing

The full implication of Theon's invasion might slip under the radar. But for the first time in centuries the Starks no longer hold Winterfell. The whole North is now open for taking in this civil war. Can Theon hold the North with the Ironborn so far out of their element? Can Robb take it back? Is someone else waiting in the wings? Will we see the Stark banner flying over Winterfell again? What does this mean for Robb's war against Tywin in the Riverlands? Find out in the next episode of Dragon Ball...nah lol lots of moving parts. What you think?

    • @BigBroLilSis

I think I put too much faith in Theon having some grand plan to save Winterfell, and I set myself of up for disappointment. Very bad position they put the North in ugh 😩

People seem to disagree on whether Baelish noticed Arya or not. Even tho it's left open ended, the camera panning on his face almost wants you to believe that he did. But it's equally likely that he actually didn't. But even if he did we wouldn't know. Baelish is the type to keep his cards close to his chest. Maybe he did recognize Arya and when he told Tywin "a proposal from Tyrion concerning Catelyn Stark's daughters", that was his way of trying to see if Tywin knew who the girl was. When Baelish realized Tywin didn't, he decided to hold on to that card.

Although it's a brilliant scene (and he did recognise her, he says so in a later episode - it doesn't affect anything so no spoilers), the trouble with it is that people don't listen to the plot that Littlefinger and Tywin are hatching!

    • @icewinddale2675
      @icewinddale2675 ปีที่แล้ว +4

@@markharris1125 Yeah very true. I made that comment in the blackwater episode! It's a red herring to distract the audience from tywin and littlefinger shaking hands on the tyrell-lannister alliance. You can say that is why it's a brilliant scene, it serves as the perfect distraction!

It's gets more straightforward in a couple seasons but this complicated story telling right now is what makes other shows pale in comparison imo.
Keep up the awesome work 🤩

The scene with Dany is like Shark Tank Westeros. “Your numbers don’t add up. For those reasons. I’m out”.

Things in the North take a dramatic twist when the Stark's home of Winterfell is taken by Theon Greyjoy and his Iron Islanders. Theon forces young Bran Stark to yield the town in order to protect his people; the people of Winterfell are not keen to support the treacherous Theon though; especially when he beheads Ser Rodrik Cassel. The only person who seems willing to switch sides is the Wildling Osha… and trusting her could be a mistake. Back in King's Landing the people let King Joffrey know what they think of him and Sansa is almost killed in the ensuing riot. North of the wall the Night's Watch run into a group of Wildlings and Jon takes one, a woman named Ygritte, prisoner… he is told he will have to kill her but is unable to do so and she escapes; by the time he catches up with her he has lost contact with his comrades. Across the Narrow Sea Daenerys continues to try to acquire ships but nobody wants to help… and then something terrible happens; what is the 'Mother of Dragons' if she no longer has her dragons?
This was another really good episode where loyalties are questioned and many characters are endangered. While the odious Joffrey remains the least likable character in the series Theon is showing that he can be almost as despicable as he seizes Winterfell and kills Rodrik Cassel… Alfie Allen does a fine job in the role. We also get to see that Wildling women are as tough as most men as both Osha and new character Ygritte show just what they can do; actresses Natalia Tena and Rose Leslie made is believe just how tough these characters were in their different ways. While I'm sure that few people would consider 'Game of Thrones' to be a feminist series it does have a lot of great actresses playing strong roles; others include young Maisie Williams who, as Arya Stark, easily holds her own in her scenes with veteran actor Charles Dance and Emilia Clarke who manages to capture both the toughness and the more vulnerable side of Daenerys. Overall this episode nicely advanced the plot. 9/10
