Not only she is the first Korean to top the Oricon chart in Japan, she is the first Korean to enter Billboard chart as well. She has done many firsts in her career. Which is unbelievable since she is a solo artist (not part of any group) and she is a FEMALE solo artist. Its amazing that she has been around for 20 years and she is only 34. 😍😍😍 From a rookie of SM Entertainment to one of their directors. She is GOAT.
Well there’s also Shinhwa, Se7en, Bi Rain, Hwanee, Finkl, Babyvox, Lee Hyori, Chea Yeon, and CSJH among the OG’s that people tend to forget. Epsecially the newer and younger Kpop fans. Miss when Kpop wasn’t even a term, and not as huge globally as now.
@@kilipaki87oritahiti That's true, I agree. But K-pop started expanding outside of Korea when BoA had a massive success in Japan. TVXQ debuted soon after, and more and more aritists (both in music and dramas/movies) started helping K-pop grow as big as it is today.
