Cemetery Skyline just released the full album today, and is the epitome of the genre featuring members from Dark Tranquility, Sentenced, Amorphis, and Insomnium. Also, my fave is Swallow The Sun!
Just found your channel. I'm a volunteer DJ for a streaming statioin and thanks top this video I grabbed a few new albums to play! I'm an old Goth Metal/Industrial fan, got my start in some clubs in San Francisco (Shrine of Lilith, may it rest in peace) and miss new music like this. Much appreciated!
Great video, it's good that they are giving attention to this wonderful genre. This revival also occurs in adjacent sounds such as Grave Pleasures, Mono Inc. and VV as well as bands that were not mentioned such as Swallow The Sun, Cemetery Skyline and Elysion. The reunions of We Are The Fallen, For My Pain and Poisonblack show that the genre seems to be coming back to life with great force.
Perfect timing on this video as I finally got around to listening to the new Unto Others album yesterday (my first time listening to the band) and loved it. I will have to check out the bands on this list I'm not familiar with. I'm looking forward to checking out the debut album from Cemetery Skyline, a supergroup featuring members of Insomnium, Amorphis, Sentenced, Dimmu Borgir, and Dark Tranquility, which just came out today (Oct. 11).
Loved the High Parasite album you can definitely hear the Paradise Lost influences all throughout ot Unto Others are fantastic I'm finally seeing them play live next year Paradise Lost last album Obsidian was my album of the year that year
I can„t believe Blackbriar is not on this list. The best Gothic metal band active right, Zora Cock is brilliant not just a vocalist, but also as poet, composer and band leader, they certainly deserve far more recognition. Their latest album, ”A Dark Euphony”, is a masterpiece, I hope a new one is on the way. They often clumped together with female fronted Symph metal bands but that is certainly not how they sound, they are a Gothic metal band that incorporated elements of Symph metal and Folk metal into their Gothic metal to make the ”Gothic” more ”Gothic”, if this makes sense. If you have not listened to them, I recommend to check them out, you will probably love them.
Because of the robot, I found you. Because of you, I am now into Unto others. Thanks for your work, and good mood. Greetings from South America (Colombia).
I know that this video is only highlighting bands that have a 2024 release, however Draconian (last album was released in 2020) is my favorite goth/doom/death band of all time
Been a Tribulation fan for 20 years, since back when they were a blackish DM band. Their evolution has been impressive as hell. Check out their first album 'The Horror' its super sick and way way different from what they've come to be known for.
@@forgemastermetal I always considered Fernando's cleans to be gothic so everything they put out has that gothic tone to me. They've always done a great job at changing up their sound though.
I don't know if I wanna fully count the newer records, but Beyond the Black are still iconic. I think they're riding one of the crispest Gothic Metal sounds I've ever heard.

my favorites being For my pain... , Eternal Tears of Sorrow, sentenced/poisonblack/Stool and The 69 eyes. even if last one is really gothic rock with metal vibes
I would have changed MDB for Moonspell since MDB is more like Death/Doom than Gothic and Moonspell keeps releasing amazing records. But was a good list overall.
Nosferatu - known for being a goth band, but I hear some a metal elements in their music. Not saying they should have been on this list but I think you guys would dig them
Is it just me or is Unto Others starting to lose their darkness? The new album just doesn't have that darkness the other 2 had and the songs are a bit upbeat and dare I say happier for the most part.
Sorry, Lacuna Coil died for the goth metal genre in 2006!!! They decided to embrace numetal and americanized sound albums. For me their dead... They look like a fcking Korn clone.with duo vocalists
You guys need to sit down or something, seeing you standing there in the video freaks me out in a way I can't explain, you know just weirdly uncomfortable like something is about to happen but not quite yet.
I like Goth mixed into my music, but I just can't do full albums. I don't dislike it, more like a little goes a long way. Thanks guys! Y'all have a damn good weekend.
Unto Others kicks ass.
Yeah man
Immediately looked then up. So refreshing honestly.
New album is too alt rock sadly.

Hell yeah!!! Also Theatre of Tragedy, Macbeth, The Sins of Thy Beloved, Darkseed to name a few.
Aaahhh, those gloomy days.
Thanks for the high parasite discovery. So sick

Cemetery Skyline should’ve been on here, I’m an idiot for forgetting it because it’s great lol
Redo the vid ASAP!!!@@forgemastermetal
Don't know if Swallow the Sun is Goth metal but maybe. I agree though it's probably them and My Dying Bride for me.
I managed to be on their first ever gig this summer and will go to another one in february! And wouldn´t StS be called doom?
@@fredriklarsson9615 yeah doom/ death probably. Their last couple albums have leaned a bit prog too.

Yeah that Draconian record is easily one of their best.
Yep I love Draconian too.
So glad On Thorns I lay got some love. Loved their last album. and can't wait for what theyw ill do next.
Right?!
Unto Others is the best ❤❤ Again, thx for introducing "Butterfly" by this amazing band to us few months ago 😊
Finally getting into Unto Others. Just purchased the new Cemetery Skyline today....a real banger

Can you please include my favorite band Sinister Ghost? They're a new Symphonic Black Metal band from Italy worthy of recognition.
Unto Others is one of my favorite new bands, love it. You can hear some Iron Maiden influence in their leads, too, especially in their earlier work.
Since you are picking legacy acts..... should have included Moonspell. Great list.
Not sure I’d call their latest album gothic, it’s got a lot more classic rock and prog vibes than their older material. Amazing band either way.
@@forgemastermetal I always considered Fernando's cleans to be gothic so everything they put out has that gothic tone to me. They've always done a great job at changing up their sound though.
Guys, Sinister Ghost is missing here, you had to mention them... their album "What's Left Of Human?" is sublime
Unto Others is my jam this month. I'm revisiting both Mana and Strength, the first of which might still be my favorite output of theirs!
Love those albums!!

@@forgemastermetal it's fantastic man! Not an EP though, it's 10 songs :)
I just realized the album is totally separate from the EP that came out in September. Kinda weird they did that.
The Bleak Picture are very good, their album Meaningless is awesome.
October Noir is a good listen, especially if you are a fan of Type O Negative
Tiamat needs some love too. Check ou the scarred people.
Maybe not exactly metal, maybe more on the goth rock side but Cemetery skyline just released their first album, I think it's pretty good.

What do you think about the Gothic Supergroup "Cemeteray Skyline" featuring Members of Dark Tranquility, Insomnium, Amorphis, Dimmu Borgir

It's debatable whether or not she can be categorized as metal, but Chelsea Wolfe has been absolutely killing it!
She’s amazing!

Can we consider Grave Pleasures metal? They are amazing
Mono inc.
Miss oif moonspell goth metal
Agree on The Vision Bleak, among others.
How about Lord of The Lost? =)
Great addition!

Thanks for the add!

Can I also suggest the new album by Cemetary Skyline "Nordic Gothic"

Wouldn’t Katatonia fit in this genre?

What the hell?!? No Cemetery Skyline?!?

Have you heard the singles from Neon Nightmare yet? Sounds an awful lot like Type O.
Yeah really excited to hear all of that release
Grave Pleasures?!
