great list again fellas! I love me some VOLA, but I don't think that last album compares to their previous. Don't get me wrong, it's a good album. However, it just doesn't reach the heights the band has reached in the past. Think they played it a bit too safe. I'm glad they got some love, but if that is your favorite album then immediately go back in their catalogue, as I think you'll be even more impressed.
Absolutely agree on all of these. They've all made my playlist of my top of 2024. And I'm sure one or two of them will make it into my top 20 of the year.
Thanks, boys! Veilburner for the win 🔥 Love that weirdo shit that you get from Transcending Obscurity, I Voidhanger etc. Will check out the Panzerfaust and Yoth Iria too...
Mitochondrion - Vitriseptome probably my favorite album this month Paysage D'hiver - Die Berge Thy Catafalque was so good Sólstafir - Hin Helga Kvöl Opeth - The Last Will and Testament Yoth Iria - Blazing Inferno Isleptonthemoon - Only the Stars Know of my Misfortune
Love seeing VOLA getting the love they deserve. I think this album is VERY indicative of what they’re capable of. Also, interesting you should call them “accessible.” I’d honestly be surprised if they didn’t make themselves available for an interview if you reached out. The band is pretty accessible on social media to their fans.
Nice list guys! I finally finished everything on my list for November my favorites were… Sergeant Thunderhoof - The Ghost of Badon Hill Fellowship - The Skies Above Eternity Feral Forms - Through Demonic Spell Defeated Sanity - Chronicles of Lunacy Opeth - Last Will and Testament Tribulation - Sub Rosa in Æternum Mvltifission - Reborn Souls from Transcendent Agony Múr - Múr Internment - Legacy Of Blood Ad Vitam Infernal - Le Ballet des Anges
I'm surprised that not one of the albums I've been listening to is on here except for the obvious Opeth. It's been all about for me: Bedsore - Dreaming the Strife for Love Raptore - Renassaince Exuvial - The Hive Mind Chronicles Defeated Sanity - Chronicles of Lunacy But I'm glad I was reminded to check out Yoth Iria and Vola.
All phenomenal choices!! Thankful you guys turned me onto The Foreshadowing and Yoth Iria, both new to me and both killer records. Opeth and Mitochondrian were November's headliners for me and both crushed it
Yes nice, pretty similar to my picks last month: 1. Opeth 2. Thy Catafalque (progressive/folk black metal) 3. Yoth Iria - Blazing Inferno (melodic black metal) 4. Black Pyre - Blessed Brân, Son of the Sea (melodic black metal) 5. Panzerfaust - Suns of Perdition IV (atmospheric black metal)
Greeting. I come to plant the Mitochondrion flag. Vitriseptome is a challenging record, densely packed yes but every listen unveils more. A Fantastic record that deserves more attention I believe. Bedsore as well, if ya love Opeth and Blood Incantation's lastest, if it a shot. Can't hurt to try Thought it would be unfair not mention it in the comment section at least. Veilburner is a nice pick though.
Mitochondrion is on my radar. It's tough to listen to a DENSE 90 minute album in time to be nominated for an album of the month, but they deserve the attention!
Yoth Iria and Vola are two stand outs for me this month, in fact Vola is one of my favorite bands now and i wouldn't have been turned onto them if it wasnt for you guys recommending there album "The Witness" a couple years ago, so thank you for that. I heart Typo Negative so i'm looking forward to checking out Neon Nightmare, I just hope they dont strictly do Typo O worship and let some of there own flair shine through.
November has been killer. It's amazing there is so much diversity in people's favorite releases this late in the year. Here are my favorites of the month. 1. Thy Catafalque - XII: A gyönyörű álmok ezután jönnek (avant-garde metal: black metal/heavy metal/progressive metal/folk/electronic/jazz) 2. Burial Oath - The Cycles of Suffering (black metal) 3. Bedsore - Dreaming the Strife for Love (progressive death metal/progressive rock) 4. Make Them Suffer - Make Them Suffer (metalcore/deathcore) 5. Poppy - Negative Spaces (alternative metal/metalcore/industrial/electropop/synth-pop) 6. Yoth Iria - Blazing Inferno (melodic black metal) 7. Svar - In the Land Called Night (melodic black metal) 8. Hrad - Leaving the Ancient Times Behind (atmospheric black metal/dungeon synth) 9. Tribulation - Sub Rosa In Æternum (gothic rock/post-punk/black 'n' roll) 10. Linkin Park - From Zero (nu metal/alternative rock/alternative metal)
Defeated Sanity 'Chronicles of Lunacy' for me! 🤗 SO punishing, SO technical, SO goddamn brilliant! 😎🤘 Lille Gruber is laying down some of THE sickest drumming of the entire year! 😳
For metal, Yoth Iria, Ungfell and Bedsore were the highlights of November for me. The new Spider God and Tribulation albums were fun, too. But the best album of the month for me was not even a metal album: it was the first album in 16 years from the legendary rock band The Cure. What a comeback for the goth legends!
I heard all of these, and beside Veilburner, I wouldn't really put any of them on my best metal albums of November list. Firstly, calling Crippled black Phoenix metal is a huge stretch. Moving on, I absolutely fucking loathed Tribulation's new album because goth rock is just boring to me. Opeth's new album contains too much proggy wankery for my taste, and it kinda drags to be honest. And lastly, even though I enjoyed Neon Nightmare, I'm pretty convinced that this is just AI generated music because of all the secrecy surrounding the band, if there even is one to begin with.
Neon Nightmare isn't AI generated, it's a one man project. Nate Garrett from Spirit Adrift is the one responsible for writing and recording all of the music. He revealed it on his podcast the day the album dropped.

Loving the gothic metal representation this November!
Tribulation is THE album of the month for sure
Thy Catafalque, Yoth Iria, Opeth and Panzerfaust made it into my top 10 of the year. Great month.
I have 4 vinyls from this list, and that's those 4 :> I am not sure any of them make my top 10 for the year though.
Fantastic choices.
In addition to Neon nightmare's and Youth Iria's albums:
Mur - Mur
Svartfjell - I, the Destroyer
Mitochondrion - Vitriseptome probably my favorite album this month
Paysage D'hiver - Die Berge
Thy Catafalque was so good
Sólstafir - Hin Helga Kvöl
Opeth - The Last Will and Testament
Yoth Iria - Blazing Inferno
Isleptonthemoon - Only the Stars Know of my Misfortune
Great list.
Nate Garrett did such an amazing job on with that Neon Nightmare album
Love seeing VOLA getting the love they deserve.
I think this album is VERY indicative of what they’re capable of.
Also, interesting you should call them “accessible.” I’d honestly be surprised if they didn’t make themselves available for an interview if you reached out. The band is pretty accessible on social media to their fans.
When we say accessible we mean it's easier to digest for "non metal heads."
@ totally understood. I’m extending that meaning and saying there also very “accessible” to their fans
Awesome recap of an Amazing Month of Metal👍
Thanks for watching!
Poppy,Opeth but mainly Vola for me this month. Vola’s will be in my top 3 of the year for sure
You guys always provide new superb doom bands and for that I thank you. Also this is probably my favorite group of albums all year. Chefs kiss
Glad to be of service!

Fellowship - The Skies Above Eternity
Feral Forms - Through Demonic Spell
Defeated Sanity - Chronicles of Lunacy
Opeth - Last Will and Testament
Tribulation - Sub Rosa in Æternum

Múr - Múr

I'm surprised that not one of the albums I've been listening to is on here except for the obvious Opeth.
It's been all about for me:
Bedsore - Dreaming the Strife for Love
Raptore - Renassaince
Exuvial - The Hive Mind Chronicles
Defeated Sanity - Chronicles of Lunacy
But I'm glad I was reminded to check out Yoth Iria and Vola.
Nice!
Excellent list! My November recommendation is the debut self-titled album from Múr. Icelandic atmospheric post-metal has never sounded so good 🤘🏻🥵🔥
Great video, folks! Thy Catafalque did it again. Top 10 album of the year for me. Keep it up, forge masters!
We will! Thanks for showing up.
Finally! A list with no surprises :). Incredible picks - you instantly made me re-play Vola and Neon Nightmare.
Glad to hear it!
All phenomenal choices!! Thankful you guys turned me onto The Foreshadowing and Yoth Iria, both new to me and both killer records. Opeth and Mitochondrian were November's headliners for me and both crushed it
Thanks for showing up!
Oh course Opeth!! Molder was awesome too
I’m glad Opeth made the list. It’s such a great record.
Month of the year
Could be!!
Ante-Inferno: Death's Soliloquy is great album.
Neon Nightmare (like it way more than I thought it would)
Thy Catafalque
Opeth
Tribulation
Yes nice, pretty similar to my picks last month:
1. Opeth
2. Thy Catafalque (progressive/folk black metal)
3. Yoth Iria - Blazing Inferno (melodic black metal)
4. Black Pyre - Blessed Brân, Son of the Sea (melodic black metal)
5. Panzerfaust - Suns of Perdition IV (atmospheric black metal)
That's a killer list.
Happy to see Thy Catafalque on the list because that’s my top release this month. It was a blast for the whole family!
It really is a great release. Family approved!
I think easily the best month of the year - Tribulation, Djevel, Neon Nightmare, Opeth, Defeated Sanity will be Top 10 of the year for me.
Body Count is also one of my favs from November.
Hell yeah!!
Didn’t hear about new The Foreshadowing! Thanks for the heads up 😊
Also ordered Veilburner just now
Yeah it's a good one!

I don't think I would have known about Yoth Iria without your call-out in the "rest of the year" video, and it's fucking awesome! :D
So so good.
Yoth Iria and Vola are two stand outs for me this month, in fact Vola is one of my favorite bands now and i wouldn't have been turned onto them if it wasnt for you guys recommending there album "The Witness" a couple years ago, so thank you for that. 10. Linkin Park - From Zero (nu metal/alternative rock/alternative metal)
Great list, but what about the newest Opeth record?
@forgemastermetal I'd probably like it but I've never listened to Opeth before and it came out late in the month so I haven't gotten around to it yet.
Holy crap. Scope our Opeth ranking video for our guide to that amazing band.
Great month. Paysage D’Hiver - Die Berge is my easy AOTY
Great pick
Yes! Most of these hit my favorites. Big surprise is Veilburner! Lots of spins on my end
What a surprise, huh?
Defeated Sanity 'Chronicles of Lunacy' for me! 🤗 SO punishing, SO technical, SO goddamn brilliant! 😎🤘 Lille Gruber is laying down some of THE sickest drumming of the entire year! 😳
Hell yeah!
Nice recommendations guys! Have you heard the new Spider God album, Possess the Devil? Came out 15th Nov. You should give it a shot!
Thanks for the suggestion!
Ill try the Type O clone .. but you can never replace the original
"Thanatos" from Deus Mortem is OUTSTANDING!!!
Hell yeah!!
RE: Woods of Ypres, Ypres is pronounced as 'E-Pray". One of my favorite bands of all time!
We don't speak French very well haha
@@BenFortier Hahaha, me neither! I just saw an interview where they clarified the pronunciation.

No Defeated Sanity 😢
Can't get to em all!
It is rather Hungarian than Polish. 14:55
There are a lot of metal staff, but only a few worth of attention…
Like what?
By the way I think it's been just OK year for metal - lot of solid albums but hardly anything spectacular and groundbreaking
Fair enough

Okay well, it's all subjective.
Neon Nightmare isn't AI generated, it's a one man project. Nate Garrett from Spirit Adrift is the one responsible for writing and recording all of the music. He revealed it on his podcast the day the album dropped.
@@cenotaphobscure What was the deal with all the secrecy before the album release?
my album of november or probably even of the whole year 2024 is the new DISPARAGED.
i wonder if you skipped on this or just missed it?
I haven't heard it yet!
@ i see you postponed it ;-)
