Very nice upgrade to V1. I like when makers come back and show improvements to their designs after they've lived with them for awhile. In real life, that's how it works. Great content as always. Sitting here enjoying an unseasonably cool and cloudy day up here in the pacific northwest of the US.

Hi, I am from New Bedford, Massachusetts, USA
Great job on the upgrades, that's one of the main purposes of 3D printing. Making modifications to improve something you bought or designed yourself.
I've been watching your videos for a while, and they are one of the reasons I recently bought my first printer.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge here with the world. You probably have helped thousands of people.

I like the way you're making incremental improvements. I keep returning to the desire for single-spool dry boxes, so they can easily be moved between printers, or a range of colors or materials can be loaded to a particular printer. And suspended or shelved above the printer, but using some light framework that doesn't loom ominously over the rest of the room! (And I'm in the bottom left corner of the US.)

In the USA, getting the correct IKEA Samla box was a bit tricky as it isn't a commonly stocked item at my nearest IKEA store. Another two weeks and I'll have it. Good thing it has taken so long is that your V2 is now done and I won't have to plug the top holes :) THANKS FOR THE GREAT FOLLOW UP!

Nice design. I would recommend PTFE tubing be used on those couplers. Those teeth will grab that filament and increase resistance or lacerate the medium. As always, great video. Seems like all the good content providers are outside the US, and definitely none of them are from WV!

Hello from the USA! I always wondered how a dry box solution compares to my current setup. It is just a plastic cabinet whose drawers are filled with silica gel. I take out the spools whenever I need them and place then back immediately when I'm done, although it's nowhere near air tight. This one seems like a really good dry box design though, nice job!

Hello, I am need of a filament dry box and I like your V2 design very much. I like that you revisited the original design and improved it based on your experience. Nice work and good video. When I saw you were adding tape to the rollers my thought was to use a bit of heat shrink tubing instead. My experience with tape on rolling parts is it will eventually unravel and become a mess. I am in USA.

Hi Daniel! Very good idea to pull from the bottom of the reel rather than the top. It's much more stable that way and is much more likely to keep the reels rolling well on the base. I also like the use of the PTFE couplings. In addition to the benefits you mentioned in the video, using the PTFE couplings makes it very easy to completely enclose the filament path to the extruder in PTFE tubing. This could be beneficial if you work with particularly hygroscopic material like ABS or Nylon, but also if you work in a somewhat humid location or simply like the convenience of leaving filament mounted for extended periods. Take care, Alex (New York, USA)
