    Great review, as ever, and thanks for the link! Maybe we'll have to send you some newer Timemore grinders that, at the very least, deal with the volume issue :)

    Great review thanks!!!
    I think I'll buy one but i have 2 questions:
    - I have a Moka express , do you know around wich grind size i need to start for Moka pot?
    - I saw that the C2 version has more capacity (25grams) , also the cheapiest and not big as the Slim version. On other hand C2 is more plastic made and not "travel" fun toy as the Nano.
    Wich one do you think its better to buy between those 2 ( Nano/C2) ?
    Thanks in advance.

    The handle mechanism is actuated by a spring that sits inside the outer sleeve NOT a magnet. The only magnet on the grinder is inside the pommel. I’m surprised you didn’t realise this. The spring can clearly be felt when pulling back the sleeve to collapse the handle.

    This is also my go-to grinder for backpacking and camping! The 15g capacity was an issue to me but eventually I got used to it. I bring it with my Trinity Zero.

    Great video thanks for sharing, hope to pick one of these up soon. I have a cheaper hand grinder that goes the job, but I always wonder what the likes of this more expensive one will do in comparison. I drink coffee on the finest setting my current one does and brew it using the Aeropress, but the grind is still a bit on the larger side so I’m probably losing a lot of flavour

    What would you prefer Timemore Nano/Nano plus vs 1Zpresso Jx for V60 grind size? Which one is more consistent and less fine dust?

    • @mightymightyironhead
      @mightymightyironhead 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am a dealer for 1Zpresso. The JX is much better than the Nano at all grind sizes and is very consistent with very few fines right across the grind range. The JX does not have the fine adjustments that the JX-Pro has, so is not considered an proper Espresso grinder. Actually the JX can grind Turkish grind size if you want to work a little harder.
      I personally would say that even the cheapest 1Zpresso grinder, the Q2 would match the Nano and is very close to the functions of the Nano, but the Q2 is a lot cheaper than the Nano. I think that Timemore rely on people buying the extra burr set for Espresso, because like i already said, this is a step adjustment and those steps are far too big for dialing in a decent Espresso.
      I am not sure what Espresso machine Andrew used with the Nano, but because this grinder is a step grinder and does now have any fine adjustment steps, its no guarantee that i am correct, but i would am very confident its was a pressurised porta filter not a None pressurised porta filter, So technically not a proper Espresso.

    currently 160, but 205 for a titanium burr
    If I dont find any other grinder in that price range, that holds at least 20g, Ill get this one :D

    I bought a different, cheaper Timemore Chestnut that has a bit more plastic. It cost me about the same as my Porlex mini but is so superior. I love it. Super consistent grind, it has the same outer body as yours and I've managed to grind up to 25gr of coffee! Best coffee decision I've made.

      @@amirulakmal2310 excellent as I travel with a small moka pot typically, so this seems to be the compact but quality hand grinder I’m looking for.

    • @mightymightyironhead
      @mightymightyironhead 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@amirulakmal2310 yes Timemore market this grinder as being an Espresso grinder. They even say that in their manual. But they dont explain that you have to pay nearly $50 extra for the coated burrs. Also what kind of fine adjustment does the coated burrs have? I dont see this information anywhere. Its ok saying that the burrs are coated and are sharp, but if you dont have fine adjustment, you simply can not dial in a good extraction for an Espresso.

    • @amirulakmal2310
      @amirulakmal2310 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mightymightyironhead agreed..for me, i tried 10 clicks but too coarse with fast extraction, 8 clicks too fine and choke my basket, 9 is ok but slightly coarse. After changing to JX-PRO(from your ofcourse haha), i can dial in pretty easily and having my self a wonderful cup of espresso with my flair.

    • @mightymightyironhead
      @mightymightyironhead 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@amirulakmal2310 yes the JX-Pro is much better. Also those extra fine adjustments are great for Espresso dialing in. The Nano can handle a pressurised porta filter, but so can a Hario Mini slim and the much cheaper 1Zpresso Q2.
      Those coated burrs are ok for taste development and burr life, but if you can not dial in a decent Espresso or use a None pressurised porta filter, then its not really an Espresso grinder in my opinion.
