Yeah, it's snow Ryan, just keep paddling ;) I always say that is the way the Planet let's you know it is stil alive. And be one with it is a chance. There is only one way, it is forward! Let's rock!
I remember the scary video (see 19:15 )when Ryan was doing the tour divide (edit: gdmbr) and he was really stuck in a giant snowdrift on top of a mountain. Even I got scared, and this is when I was watching the video, so I knew he would be ok because he obviously had gotten home to edit the video.
Ryan, I just wanted to let you know your content has inspired me and changed my life. I maintain a much healthier weight (80-100lbs lighter than prebike me) with dreams of summer bike adventures as my motivation, and I feel your pain, Ryan. I live in Kansas where we deal with 20+ mph winds regularly. The wind's rumble in your ears can be maddening. They make a device that goes on the straps of your helmet that can help with that. I haven't tried it, but I hear good things. Thanks for the years of amazing videos.
I have been watching your channel since 2020. I absolutely love it Ryan . I think you’re improving with time . What a fantastic channel. Thank you Brother ❤
New Mexico is a unique place. Whenever I visited an old friend in Placitus there, the next day always had a noticable strong magnetic vibe. Maybe it was the traditional indiginous vibe that I was picking up. With all those beans you eat, I am glad I am not riding a bike behind you. 😆 I am always amazed how positive you always stay, if you do get discouraged, you rarely let it show. You always seem to shift your attention to something positive, something to be grateful for in the present.😊😇
As always, Brian, you always have great content. I’ve been watching you since the beginning. You definitely inspired me to cycle because you actually do long distance rides or five hour rides thanks bro you’re the best.

Great video once again just wanted to say thanks to your fellow Veteran traveler friend, thanks for your service glad you made it home safely love the beard. Be safe be well. SJ
New Mexico has some stunning scenery. I have only been in the ABQ and Santa Fe areas so far and never biked. This New Mexico series has me hankering for a bikepacking journey now. Thanks for the share and I must say Viking's beard is pretty epic!
Reminds me of the day it started out sunny, cool, but nice enough. Then it started full out HAILING. Little hard cold balls of stinging doom. Road past this guy and said "this is fine" and he's like "totally fine" and just kept riding.
last comment I swear! Its always nice to ride into bad weather with someone that can laugh at the pain with you. Be careful of cold weather and your bare naked knees brother!
Ten points is a great stop on this route (elk burritos 🌯 rock) we've biked to camp the Manzanos, also an amazing waterfall in the Manzanzos to camp near and drink from. Hope to see it in this video!
Ryan, I am sounding like a broken record, but I really enjoy watching your adventures. And, how cool to travel with the Hiking Viking. You take your time to enjoy the beauty we have around us. Safe travels amigo.
That pat on the shoulder just graced me with the most beautiful smile and laugh. Thank you both so much. Big love yaway super Duzer and valiant Viking!
Great story Ryan. We seem to get caught in the afternoon downpour whenever we bikepack in CO. Then we set up camp in the rain and crawl in. Hours later somebody mentions dinner and whoever's night it is to cook must get out in the wet world and make something hot and edible for the others. But if it was easy everyone would do it. ✌🌯
GREAT video 🎉❤ I heard you say, "those Pinions really block the wind." Dang that's the best sales pitch for Pinion yet! I gotta get one of those bikes😂

Funny about the vegetarian burrito! I’ve lived in New Mexico for 3.5 years and most of the time I order food I have to explain to them what I want in the burrito. But there’s always beans, and vegetables! So I can’t complain.
Lovely conditions Ryan😂Even Scotland is warm at the moment😉52 miles in those conditions is good going, you guys are killing it👍I had an amazing 80 mile ride on Thursday and another amazing 70 miler today, no winds to speak of which is most unusual for Scotland! Lived in ABQ for 12 years, would never move back to NM, but the state is beautiful ,and would definitely ride a bicycle thru it. On the Oregon coast, where I live now, its windy damn near every single day. I hate the wind the most, and its always a force here on the coast. I'd take climbing all day over riding into a head wind. I can find peace and a rhythm climbing. Wind is just demoralizing. If you're ever in Newport Oregon stop by Bike Newport and say hi!
@duzer Took a Motorcycle ride from El Paso to the VLA in Socorro, NM. First time since I was a wee lad seeing New Mexico. A few hour ride took like six hours because I couldn't stop taking in the sights. Some Apaches(forgive me for I can't recall their proper name) were doing a rain dance in the morning.....yeah I should have noted that🤣

See you at RAGBRAI! Was this filmed in April when you got snowed on? I was doing the Southern Tier and had to divert the route through Arizona Highway 90 because there was half a foot on the Tier route east of Phoenix.
Hey Ryan. Wish i could be a part of your ragbrai team this year but unfortunately I will be out of the country about that time. However, I am looking into a ride in October called, The BIG BAM. Have you ever heard of it? Also, was wondering, I notice that on the new priority bikes that you are riding have water bottles strapped to the frame and the bike forks. Was wondering why there wasn’t bottle mounts designed into the bikes? Just curious
I haven’t heard of that ride, I’ll look it up! The new bike has lots of bottle cage bolts all over the frame, but not on the suspension fork. Have an awesome summer
Hey Ryan, had you passed through on May 11th, it would have been a biblical hailstorm rather than just a bit of snow. Also, seriously: nobody should come bike{packing, touring) in NM during the windy season (April & May, with possible extension into June). As Ryan is going to show, it's not impossible, but OMG, so much harder.
That store has positive Karma, it's got all 5 star reviews on Google. And yet, it's just a simple dwelling in the middle of nowhere. It's all about the people, not the place.
