    A little about me:
    I am James McBurnett. I live in the great state of Texas. Probably not where you would think, but I am located in the panhandle region. I moved here from Alabama and work as a Chemical Engineer in the area. After being here for a few years, I decided to get back to my roots as a fisherman. It is quite challenging in my area to find a body of water to fish. The closest lake to me is about 40 miles away.
    After a couple more years, I realized how much I love fishing and wanted to share it with the world. Clearwater fishing was born. I wanted to teach people all about fishing. This includes rods, reels, fishing line, bait, lures, largemouth bass, crappie, walleye, catfish, bluegill, boats, boat trailers, outboards, and anything else related to fishing.
    I also wanted to share my fishing experiences as well. To be entertaining, knowledgeable, comical, and FUN. This channel was created out of the love of the sport of fishing, and I plan to keep making content that represents that. Thank you for watching this video and reading a bit about me. Give me a shout out in the comments below and let me know you read this. Now get out there and go catch you some fish.

    I have been watching you for a while now and thanks. Just to clarify but some people might make the mistake of adding 4 quart because you stated that you need 3 liters or 4 quarts. I know you did not mean add 4 quarts. That's why you check the dipstick. The difference between 3 liters and 3 quarts is 5.5 oz . My point is that i have been running 3 quarts on my 2011 60hp like yours since day one w/o any issues. Keep up the good work buddy!!!!!!!

    Thanks, I’ll have my kit from Amazon this Sunday so I’ll do mine then. I’ll refer to this video for a reference. The best one on oil changes.

    Great video! Good tips! It might have been a good idea to drain the oil, and remove the oil filter before putting the drain plug back in. There might have come more oil to drain. Looking forward to seeing you video on the lower unit oil change.

    Appreciate the detail you went into the video as I am changing the oil myself for the first time this week. Curious if you ever did one for the oil change on the lower unit gears or replacing the impeller?

      I have one for the gear lube not changing the impeller. th-cam.com/video/oHnq6n6lRc8/w-d-xo.html

    From what year is the motor?

    I see that you’re using 25W-40 oil. The guy at Tracker Marine told me to use 10W-30 when I bought my boat. I’ve been told that the new manual recommends 25W-40 in hotter states like southeast and southwest states. Is that why you’re using 25W-40?

    • @clearwaterfishing
      @clearwaterfishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine recommends both but for different temperature ranges. The lower range (something like less than 40F) use 10W-30 and upper range was 25W-40.

    How often do you change your oil?

    Hey I just purchased a Mercury 60 horsepower 4 stroke. Noticed you have a four blade prop mine came with the three blade Mercury Max my boat is a ranger RT 178 c with three people we cannot get up on plane have you had any experiences like this with your 60 horsepowe. Also with three people in the boat the RPM will not RPM passed like 3400 rpm

    • @clearwaterfishing
      @clearwaterfishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mine struggled to get 2 people on plane but it would get there. My guess is the three people are over the weight limit of the vessel. Not trying to make fun but those aluminum boats have low ratings. If you want to get three people on plane regularly you are going to have to step down a size or 2 in pitch and probably a 4 blade. You will sacrifice top speed when you go solo. You could also get a bigger motor (75-90hp).

      @@clearwaterfishing I picked the boat up 6 weeks ago it's got about 11 hours on it I've been trying to get the dealer to work a deal all the way through they're saying at least 8 months to a year to get a 75 in I guess with the warranty I have to stay with Mercury or void the warranty. I can get a 75 4-stroke Suzuki or a 75 Yamaha four-stroke this week there's some kind of deal where as long as it's under warranty I guess I'm stuck with Mercury and Mercury is almost a year out for a 75 when you order it

      @@MattW0052 what does the warranty cover? Hull I’m guessing?
