      i wish wish wish i could have got the "R"'s upgraded suspension but i sprung for the Tractive shock and drop in fork units so that will more than fix the problem just at a $ i feel like i shouldnt have had to spend , same with the hydro clutch Rottweiler makes a kit

    a ktm 890 in a tuxedo , i like that ! well done , i like mine after some aftermarket mods its amazing good. agree with all you said , the stock suspension and lack of a hydro clutch those 2 things they cheaped out on sorry but as a 6 time now ktm owner i expected better in both of those ways but both fixed this bike is absolutely pure magic , seat of the pants feel it feels like half the size and weight of my 1090r which was well set up for me resprung/revalved ect. but with about the same peak hp , electronics which im not usually a fan of at all , rode the 1090r with both ABS&TCS off almost always , but this bikes is very easy to navigate and unobtrusive , well it is in 'Explorer' mode anyway which is 100% req in my opinion

    8:36 - From what I know, rims are tubeless, but it is so because the spokes simply have a sort of gasket around the hole where they attach to the rim? An 1190 KTM owner told me that in time, those gaskets fail and start leaking air and you end up using a tube anyway.

    So fun to watch, your presentations are lively and fun. Got mine since June 1st here in Canada and she went in for the 1000km service. I mentioned the same issue: 5th-6th neutral scare and they 're-learned' my gearbox. Not sure what the procedure is actually called. My son will be in Portugal for work in about two weeks so I asked him if he could get me the CrossPro bars, upper and lower, the best looking set. So far I did not hear back from CrossPro. Are they out of stock? How easy do they mount onto the bike? Keep up the good work, we are a Belgian family, planning to visit Portugal for the first time ever late Summer. Would love to go on a tour with you, even considering shipping my own bike over and stay the winter-spring over on the warmer side of the planet. Cheers and Ciao

    Brand new biker here. New as in I've never ridden a bike before. I'm interested in this bike but I've been told it's not beginner friendly. I'm patient and tbh, won't be taking it on the highway for awhile. Is it really THAT advanced to the point where I should avoid it?? I'm 6'2" 240 pounds, this bike seems perfect.

    • @OFFroadOFFcourse
      @OFFroadOFFcourse  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry, my previous reply was directed to a nother bike (i released today a video about the Fantic Caballero 500).
      I agree with your friends. A 200kg 100hp motorcycle is not ideal for a beginner. I am not saying that you will kill yourself with it, but it will take months/years until you can safely relax and actually enjoy the bike.
      Get some experience with a 250-500cc motorcycle (a few months is enough) before you decide to buy something this big/heavy/powerful/expensive. Perhaps you wont even want an adv bike...maybe along the way you will figure you prefer nakeds or sport bikes, or scramblers or whatever :)

    However the bike i loved was my triumph daytona 900. So much stompy torque. But it needed keeping an eye on sprag clutches for example but what a lovely bike. Tdue character and no worse than the BMW and far cheaper, nicer to ride but my hands got numb from vibration through the handlebars but careful about speeding as they took off big time above 5000rpm and were great on petrol below 5000rpm but above that at 6000 upto 9000 red line it drank so did fazer and vfr but it was far superior if you cruised and id get a good 50 mpg below 80Mpg in top. The later 955 engine after 2002 was far more reliable with a great crank but earlier ones looked prettier but could be a handful with dodgy fuel injection etc.

    It seems very rugged and solid and will take a hammering. You have those AJP in Portugal and you guys seem to like a functional solid beater that will last and not blow up or cost BMW prices. Over rated yuppee bikes in my opinion. A triumph tiger secondhand are well designed with great triple engines but i question the mounting of crash bars on the engine casing but Alan Sanders did 50K going round africa and the world but in fact a suzuki DR6t0 or v strom 650 are better in real life. Thats my opinion, i just want to travel and have a basic cheaper bike, not some spec sheet king that costs a lot in real life. I did travel in australia with a 750 dollar suzuki gs750 four in 1987 that cost me £750 with around 750 AUSTRALIAN DOLLARS AND TOOK A HAMMERING 2 UP TO GO 90 MILES EACH WAY BEING THRASHED AT 100 MPH. GREAT ENGINES THAT NEVER BLEW UP AND IVE DESPATCHED GS850 SHAFT AND AN OLD SUZUKI GS1000E OF 1977 THAT WENT AROUND SEVERAL MATES, ENDING UP BEING THRASHED 300 MILES IN 2 AND A HALF HOURS RIGHT UP TO THE RED LINE WITH 70000 MILES on the clock. Ive loved suzuki engines since a lot and now have dr650. Also had vfr800, vfr750 a late one and yamaha 600 fazer i used for 18 months going to work on mainly motorway 100 miles a day. Great bikes i just basically changed chain sprockets, tyres, brake pads up to 40K miles when some scumbag stole it from a council estate in s w london. I bought it with 15K on the clock and it was 5 years old for £1400. A great bike. However if i got another bike for dependable travel with bomb proof reliability i wouldnt buy a vfr honda or even yamaha fazer but id get a 650 v strom suzuki. Cheaper to run, they rack up huge mileages and are better than honda vfr 750 or vfr800. Regulator rectifiers went. On the 750 twice in 35000 miles and on the 800 they fried the battery or drained it at 12k from new Then again at 16K then at 19K when i bought a quality mosfet electrex regulator rectifier which cost double the honda one at £110 new. Really made a hige difference. Electrex do great electrical components after market that far exceeded the awful genuine honda onrs on the 1999 vfr800FIX.
