Hi, great vid. I've got the same one but only ever used the airfryer settting. It would be great if u did more vids on how and what to cook in the airfryer and the different settings. 👍
The settings don’t actually do much different. They are just preset times and temperatures. I tend to use the airfry button for everything and just adjust the time and temperature to whatever I want for the task in hand. Airfryers are in essence small fan ovens.
I have watched BOTH videos of yours on the Versazone Fryer and love the content. I have the Instant Vortex twin Drawer and was thinking of changing to this version as it can be used as a huge 1 basket fryer and I could fit so many more dishes in it. However, what has happened to the light and viewing windows?? have they really done away with these? they were the reason I chose Instant over Ninja.
Aw thank you for watching my videos. I’m pleased you liked them. I agree the clear view is fantastic. I assume that having the much wider drawer made having the viewing window incompatible somehow!? Maybe the divider wouldn’t be possible as there would be issue having the shaped inner wall for it to stand. I don’t know for sure but that’s my guess. X
Good morning. You should ideally preheat your airfryer before adding food. However, I never bother to preheat before adding my food. If I use my main oven I don’t bother preheating that either. I’m just a lazy/busy mum who likes to pop my food in then walk away and trust the process. I hope that is a helpful response. I don’t speak French so had to use google translate. I hope I managed to answer your question. X
Just take out the crisper plate, gives you another centimetre - or more - in height. I have cooked an extra large chicken in this air fryer, without doing anything to the chicken. Just put a bit of parchment paper in the bottom of the drawer.
A great suggestion. However by taking out the crisper plate the chicken would sit in its juices and get a soggy bottom. I much prefer to leave the plate in to allow air circulation and I don’t find cracking my chickens back too much of a faff
No you can’t stop the preheat. To be honest I never bother preheating just stick my food in from the start. Just ignore the machine when it beeps saying add food. It will still continue to cook :) x
Yes it did. After the initial test run I cooked a whole chicken and there was hardly any chemical smell. The time I used it after that the smell had gone completely.
Hi there, is the non stick coating good quality , thick , please ? Mine ( corosi ) was scratched after 1 week despite all the care I took to wash it etc ( microfibre cloth with washing, silicone utensils, no accessories to no scratch the basket..). Does it cook evenly and quickly ( 1700 watt is not a lot for a big air fryer like the vortex versazone compare to others that are 2700 watts ). Is it noisy ? Many thanks 😊
I would cook on roast 180° upside down for 20 mins. Then flip it over and cook for a further 20-35 mins. Check internal temperature. Some birds are more dense than others so always best to probe the meatiest apart. I recon anywhere from 45-55 mins for a nice roast chicken of 1.6kg
@204154529 you can adjust during cooking. Just select the time/temp button and then amend as required. Then press start to continue with the new settings
@204154529 precious to this model o had the instant dual drawer with clear cook. I loved having the windows on the clear cook but the versazone is amazing for cooking larger portions of things or joints of meat.
Nope. I never preheat. Even when I use the oven. I’m just lazy. The machine does have an inbuilt preheat and will play a tone to alert you to add food. I just stick it straight in x
That is what the instruction manual stated. However having used airfryers for a number of years I am confident that cooking a chicken for this length of time has done no harm to my machines. If you wish to stick rigidly to the manual then I would suggest getting a smaller chicken to cook.
One of my children is autistic and chicken is one of the few things he will eat but he cannot stand seasoning. The chicken stays lovely and moist and the taste is nice enough as it stands. I season the other aspects of my meals where it is easier to separate my sons portion off. This video was made to show how to do a basic roast chicken. There is nothing stopping you adding seasonings to suit your palette. Personally I love garlic butter under the skin and a nice sausage, onion and sage stuffing in the body cavity.
Much as with an oven everyone uses their own times and temperatures to cook their own food. If 190°c works for you then great. For me I like to cook at 170°c. This always gives me a lovely succulent chicken that the family enjoys. In my oven I would cook at 190°-200° but airfryers hold the heat better so I tend to cook at 10%-20% lower heat. The main thing is that the chicken internal temp is 74°c or above when you serve.
“You should not wash raw meat. Washing meat under a tap can splash bacteria onto your hands, clothes, utensils and worktops. Washing raw meat, such as chicken, can spread harmful bacteria like campylobacter. Thorough cooking will kill any bacteria present” - taken from uk food standards agency. Guidelines say not to was raw chicken (or any raw meat). I never have rinsed my chicken and never will.
@@Crochetandcooking Ive been washing my meats and chicken for 3 decades now and it's standard to do so where I come from. Also a whole chicken has bits inside which need to be removed and the chicken rinsed out carefully and rubbed out with lemon before cooking
In the uk it’s very rare for chickens to come with neck and giblets now. My chicken had nothing inside and I stand by the uk food standards agency guidelines of not needing to not rinse. Obviously different countries have different practises regarding meat and it’s preparation. I suggest you follow the guidelines laid out by your countries equivalent of food standards agency.
I purchase my chickens from Sainsbury’s. The bag states “Fresh class A chicken without giblets” by chicken cavity is empty. Unless I choose to stuff it.
That's the trouble with cooking a whole chicken. The basket isn't very deep no matter which one you get, an the top of the chicken is very near the heating element. I don't want a spatchcock style chicken I want a traditional one of a decent size. as advertised as many of the leaflets that come with the cooker.
This chicken was particularly large. If you purchased a smaller chicken and removed the bottom tray you would not need to squash your chicken in all likelihood. Obviously some chickens are more rounded than others though. If you wish to have a deeper airfryer then maybe look at the instantpot pro crisp/duo crisp or ultimate lid. They all have a much deeper profile. From experience the 8ltr pro plus is a fantastic machine and one of my most used.

You should cut the backbone out (spatchcocked). It lays flatter.
Great job!! Thank you!
Glad you liked it x

Hi emma thanks for the video❤it was really helpful! sorry for the judgemental comments when you are just trying to help
I have this air fryer. LOVE IT!
Hello , thanks for your informative videos 👍🏼 , i just have question ⁉️ can we change the baskets with dual instant vortex or it doesn't fit ?
Bonjour madame. Est-ce qu'il faut préchauffer l'airfryer vide ou avec les aliments ?

Did the stinky smell go?
Yes it did. After the initial test run I cooked a whole chicken and there was hardly any chemical smell. The time I used it after that the smell had gone completely.

How long do you think for a 1.6kg chicken

Do the 1 and 2 options automatically disappear when the divider is removed?
No. You have to double press the large silver knob to switch between 1 & 2 or whole drawer
@@Crochetandcooking thanks. Just another question, can you adjust the cooking temperature and cooking time during cooking. Or most start all over?
@204154529 you can adjust during cooking. Just select the time/temp button and then amend as required. Then press start to continue with the new settings
@@Crochetandcooking thank you so much. Trying to make up my mind about a dual zone fryer and I’m definitely leaning towards this one

Thought you could only use it for 60 mins in a 2 hour slot?
That is what the instruction manual stated. However having used airfryers for a number of years I am confident that cooking a chicken for this length of time has done no harm to my machines. If you wish to stick rigidly to the manual then I would suggest getting a smaller chicken to cook.
I need you to come to my kitchen and squash the chicken for me - I'm terribly squeamish!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Put a chopping board on top of it and push down on that instead. I’m not a fan of touching chicken either 😬
How clever not to bother with seasoning!

170 (in my experience) is nowhere near hot enough.,I have to cook mine closer to 190/200, works great every time!

Yes, that’s true. I was just surprised that air fryers vary that much.
You kept washing your hands but didn't wash the chicken out
