    Hi, Thank you for the tutorial on the Instant Versazone, do you think that you will do any more? I know that your channels primary focus is on crotcheting, which I used to do, but I cant do it any more due to arthritis, I still like watching other peoples crafting, I have done multiple craft fairs in the past. Anyway, enough moaning. I would love to see any more versazone tutorials if you want to do any thanks . Bye Jane

    Hi, do you know how much time is needed for enough pressure to build up in the pot before it's able to start cooking? Thanks

    • @Crochetandcooking
      @Crochetandcooking 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It would depend on a number of factors. The main ones being how full the pot is and the temperature of the ingredients in the pot. I would say for most things anywhere from 8-20mins from pressing start (selecting programme) to the pot starting the cooking phase.

      Hi Julie. Thank you for your comment. I’m new to the knitting machine world but I do believe you could make beenies for newborn upwards on this machine (sentro 48). You would just knit less row. For ease though and a better fit most folk have 2 knitting machines, typically a 22 and 48 needle/peg and this helps them manage most if not all their knitting needs. I have actually gone on to purchase a 22 peg machine myself as I wanted to knit slippers. Hopefully I will get around to making another video soon x

    How clever not to bother with seasoning!

    • @Crochetandcooking
      @Crochetandcooking 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      One of my children is autistic and chicken is one of the few things he will eat but he cannot stand seasoning. The chicken stays lovely and moist and the taste is nice enough as it stands. I season the other aspects of my meals where it is easier to separate my sons portion off. This video was made to show how to do a basic roast chicken. There is nothing stopping you adding seasonings to suit your palette. Personally I love garlic butter under the skin and a nice sausage, onion and sage stuffing in the body cavity.

    i would have basted it a few times with some herbs and seasoning and put a catch tray under it for all the juices, that mess you left in the airfryer is the best tasting part of the chicken just going to waste.

    • @Crochetandcooking
      @Crochetandcooking 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The juices from the tray went in my gravy. I don’t season chicken as my son is autistic and won’t touch chicken if it’s anything but plain. Otherwise I agree with you. I always used to make a garlic and rosemary butter to put under the skin. I miss the days of flavoured chicken 😢

      I must admit I’ve only used the rotisserie a handful of times. It really is so much quicker to just spatch cock a chicken and airfry that way. It’s nice to have the option though. I keep meaning to purchase some attachments to try different things using the rotisserie spit. I believe there is a chip basket and kebab skewer attachment.

    Just take out the crisper plate, gives you another centimetre - or more - in height. I have cooked an extra large chicken in this air fryer, without doing anything to the chicken. Just put a bit of parchment paper in the bottom of the drawer.

    • @Crochetandcooking

      A great suggestion. However by taking out the crisper plate the chicken would sit in its juices and get a soggy bottom. I much prefer to leave the plate in to allow air circulation and I don’t find cracking my chickens back too much of a faff

    • @Crochetandcooking
      @Crochetandcooking 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Much as with an oven everyone uses their own times and temperatures to cook their own food. If 190°c works for you then great. For me I like to cook at 170°c. This always gives me a lovely succulent chicken that the family enjoys. In my oven I would cook at 190°-200° but airfryers hold the heat better so I tend to cook at 10%-20% lower heat. The main thing is that the chicken internal temp is 74°c or above when you serve.

    How do you clean the drawer as I have read use a damp cloth. After roasting you have grease and oil/juices and I am not sure a damp cloth will do it . Also if you fill the drawer with jug of water it leaks from the front two corners!

    • @Crochetandcooking
      @Crochetandcooking ปีที่แล้ว

      I let it cool. Squirt in washing up liquid. Use a soft brush to scrub the draw. It emulsifies all the fats. Then rinse with water. Then use a damp cloth to wipe it over. If it has a lot of fat in ie from a roast then I pour it out into a grease trap whilst still hot. Then follow the above method.

    Just do not ever accidentally drop the drawer when cleaning it or removing food!! You can not see that it is bent, but it is bent enough when dropped.that it will no longer engage the sensor to show the drawer as closed and let you cook. That being said, and after trying several different air fryers, including a toaster oven style of air fryer, this is BY FAR my favorite air fryer!!

If I get a chance tomorrow I’ll pop it under my window and see if that affects it but I don’t think it will. The vortex has a flat front so the sun would be behind the machine. I have the vortex plus and it’s a proper workhorse of a machine in our kitchen. Used multiple times a day and never gives us any problems.

    I need you to come to my kitchen and squash the chicken for me - I'm terribly squeamish!!! 🤣🤣🤣

      Put a chopping board on top of it and push down on that instead. I’m not a fan of touching chicken either 😬

    Thought you could only use it for 60 mins in a 2 hour slot?

      That is what the instruction manual stated. However having used airfryers for a number of years I am confident that cooking a chicken for this length of time has done no harm to my machines. If you wish to stick rigidly to the manual then I would suggest getting a smaller chicken to cook.

    Did the stinky smell go?

      Yes it did. After the initial test run I cooked a whole chicken and there was hardly any chemical smell. The time I used it after that the smell had gone completely.

    That's the trouble with cooking a whole chicken. The basket isn't very deep no matter which one you get, an the top of the chicken is very near the heating element. I don't want a spatchcock style chicken I want a traditional one of a decent size. as advertised as many of the leaflets that come with the cooker.

      This chicken was particularly large. If you purchased a smaller chicken and removed the bottom tray you would not need to squash your chicken in all likelihood. Obviously some chickens are more rounded than others though. If you wish to have a deeper airfryer then maybe look at the instantpot pro crisp/duo crisp or ultimate lid. They all have a much deeper profile. From experience the 8ltr pro plus is a fantastic machine and one of my most used.
