Yeah, I'm going to come at you. It's one of the most outrageous and gross out comedies of all time, but it's not even one of the Farrelly Brothers best movies.
Bill Murray ACTUALY hit 3 straight strikes at the end of the movie. The Brothers told Murray he could take whatever time he needs to do the 3. They told the crowd before shooting the scene what needs to happen and how they need to react. They didn't need any coaching once they started shooting, the brothers said they were gobsmacked that he did it, the reaction of the crowd is all real, everyone was amazed.
This is one of the Farrelly brothers most underrated comedies IMO. It came out in between 'Dumb & Dumber' and 'There's Something about Mary' and for whatever reason it just didn't hit at the box office as big as those other two films. But in my view it easily holds its own with those two films.
To me it's clear those are their best 3. Kingpin might me my favorite but it's hard picking between that & There's Something about Mary. Dumb & Dumber was great but I like the other two more.
@@NeoRocket001 he was talking about how well they performed and how much commercial success… he wasn’t talking about what you thought personally. This movie didn’t come close to the success that the other 2 Farrelly bros movies he mentioned did. They were way bigger

This movie was one of our favorite movies, My brother and I loved it.. ( sadly he passed away) . So glad you watched it and enjoyed it.. Brings me back great memories. thank you.
I know it was a comedy (and a great one). But I LOVED the ending the way Roy saved Ish and his community and also allowed him to be the hero. He was right... they did both save each other.
"How's life ?" "Taking forever" _might_ be the perfect joke :). Such a brilliant reaction too, hit pretty much every moment. (i'm always wary of looking back with rose coloured glasses on but it really does feel like they don't make comedies like this anymore)
I love the bloopers at the end, especially the one where his landlay, played by the incomparable Lin Shaye, is practicing that tongue action in the rearview mirror, then gets cracked up. They must have all had the best time making this picture.
one of my favorites of all time. still 30 years later and quote this movie all the time. The "takin' forever..." still gets me. I wish the industry didn't evolve in a such a way that movies like this don't get made anymore. fav line of all time that my dad and I still quote to each other: No! Look, we don't even have a novelty machine in the men's room anymore. ...and you call this a bowling alley?? 🤣🤣🤣
Ok, we know we’re off to a great reaction when you bust a gut at little Roy tripping over the top of the fence! Your laugh cracks me up, great reaction/great movie!!
Kingpin parodies a LOT of things, namely The Hustler and it's sequel The Color of Money (except they're about pool). Oh and the random person throwing garbage at Ishmael's feet and the pan up to a single tear is a parody of the "crying Indian" anti-littering commercial from 1970.
Farrely Brothers movies should all be watched! This might be a top ten all time funny movie. And Bill Murray is comedy gold! He's also a lifelong natural athlete and yes, he was really bowling, and yes, he live in camera without edits, hit 3 strikes in a row! Vanessa Angel first appeared in the hillarious, Spies Like Us, as a teen, and is still super beautiful and built! Believe it or not, they also did the Oscar winning movie, The Green Book! And yes, the band at the end is a real band and the best harmonica player, ever!I may be wrong, but Skidmark may be Rodger Clemens!😮😮. How have they never done a sequel?😮😮😮😮
I remember seeing this in the theaters the year it was released with my older sister, and her now ex-husband. It’s one of my three favorite Farrelly brothers movies, along with There’s Something About Mary & Me, Myself, and Irene. And I’m glad you’re watching the extended cut.
"Keep em comin sweets, I got a long drive." "Mind washing off that perfume before you come back to our table?" "Why don't you go eat that outside then come back in..." He sponsors a fatherless family in every city he bowls in. He had to...he couldn't help himself. There is no greater antagonist in the history of cinema than Big Ern. Some say protagonist even.
Great reactio Ames like always. This movie is beyond stupid and I absolutely love it!!! I have no idea how many times I've seen it, but I have never once not laughed. Bill Murray improvised nearly every line for Big Ern, Co-director Bobby Farrelly said “Ernie was a great idea on paper, but he didn’t really have the lines until Bill showed up. Bill had nothing to work with, it was kind of a thankless role as written, and he turned it into just a beautiful character. Bill just threw all the pages away and just said, ‘I get it, trust me,’ and we did and every line he came up with was better than the line that was scripted. ‘You’re on a gravy train with biscuit wheels.’ Like, where the f*ck did that sh*t come from? It was genius. You can’t really tell Bill how to be Bill because he’s gonna do it better than you can come up with. He’s a world-class improviser.” Keep up the good work.
"Hey Herb, how's life?" "Takin' forever!" "We don't have a cow. We have a bull!" "You really jarred something loose, Tiger!" This movie's got the best, most quotable lines.
One of my alltime faves. I love the absurdity interspliced with some genuinely heartwarming moments. This is a perfect comedy movie. Bill Murray steals every scene he is in as well.
This movie is an absolute classic, criminally underrated, me and my friend here in the UK first saw this movie on a sleepover in the late 90's, and we've absolutely loved it ever since...long live Kingpin!
😂Love how you reacted to seeing the Farrlley Brothers name🎳 You can't beat King Pin. One of my fave Bill Murry performances. The Landlady is Magda from There's Something About Mary. She is hilarious.
First thing is thanks for sharing your reaction to Kingpin, you are probably the only TH-cam reactor to watch this film, it’s truly an underrated movie. It funny to see that the landlady traumatized you through the film from the “pump and dump” scene 😂, the view of her haunting Roy, I mean she got you jumping when she pooped out the rearview mirror 😂😂!! “Ten frames is for Quakers” 😂😂 It was fun watching react to Kingpin!! Hope you had a great weekend, God Bless
Just watching the movie. It's clear that Ishmael was meant to be played by a much younger actor. Casting Randy Quad in the role though was just genius. How this movie can turn on a time from ridiculous to very and genuine heartfelt. Plus a banger soundtrack. Then Bill Murray being his Bill Murray-est. Classic.

Haven't seen this in close to 20 years, but I vividly recall my thought processes during the "We don't have a cow. We have a bull" scene. In about 2 seconds, my mind went: 🤔 😳🤢
The scene with the single tear on the side of the road with the garbage, was a subtle but obvious 1970s environmental reference. An iconic commercial with an Indian (Chief?) in headress turns towards the camera after he sees the modern pollution in nature. I believe they even had posters made of it.
If you look in any sports page from the 50s-80s you’ll find extensive national and local amateur bowling coverage. Saturday afternoon tv ruined by bowling. Crazy times.

They shot scenes in two of my local bowling alleys that I've been to so many times growing up. This movies will always have a special place in my heart.
So many memorable moments in this! It tends to get talked about less than it should, because of how popular 'Dumb and Dumber' and 'There's Something About Mary' were. But I think it's better than both.

Come at me but Kingpin is one of the greatest comedies ever made. After all these years, me and my friends quote this movie all the time.
It's been my favorite comedy for over 25 years!
Me, my brother and cousin would go bowling and I'd be Ishmael, my brother would be Roy Munson and our cousin would be Big Ern McCracken.
This is a hilarious movie!!! I’ve got a few other comedies I personally feel are better. American Pie, Hot Tub Time Machine, Austin Powers.
