Can't believe this is still a problem, Microsoft are a waste of space, so annoying!
Hmmm....idk i tried all that and it didnt work. But this is what i did. So i have external connected to Series X and it wouldnt recognize it all nor let me play games from external (xbox one games or 360) so what i did was just leave about 3-6GB of free space on my INTERNAL hard drive NOT MY EXTERNAL DRIVE and everything worked perfectly fine, even with restarts. So maybe give it a shot bc it worked for me and i had been trying for literal hours guys.

I’ve got the same device in the video I’ve plugged it into the pc and formatted to NTFS as requested and plugged it into both usb outlets on Xbox x and it’s not registering and keeps saying I need to format it I need help it’s bugging me like mad 😡 tbh
I recorded plenty of recordings on the External Drive earlier this past Week no problem,
but last night was a pain in the Butt. on my Series X and I don't play several Games on it I only Play GTA Online. once I've done recording I then remove the External Drive over to my PC then take off all Video's from that 2TB Drive, But last night when i was recording my Game play, I pressed record doing the Casino Heist in GTA Online i checked to make sure it was Still recording and it wasn't usually when you record there is a Time Recording but it's Not There Now, So
I unplugged the Console from my Wall Outlet waited for 15 minutes then plugged it back in and it worked for about 1 hour and the same trouble started again.
I'm having the same issue trying to record gameplay in GTA Online and it doesn't I'm also using an external hard drive aswell so it might have something to do with microsoft's recent console update.
@@itzjay2002 The Record started to Work I got 2 Hours of Recording and after that it stopped working again. but the Cloud Worked Fine.
Just happened to me right now never drop my hard drive before it just goes out if this doesn’t help I’m just buy the Xbox series x version hate that u have to buy it cuz it’s so damn expensive for one Tb
my hard drive got a tiny bit of liquid on it last night after i spilled my cup, i wiped it off and dried it, and it wasn't working for like 30 minutes but then i jolted the power cable a certain way and it actually worked for a good 20 minutes before i decided to move it back onto the area it was on after i dried my desk off and it barely bumped the wall and it hasn't been working since then, i tried taking out the cable and blowing on the power ports on the cable and the hard drive and its still not being detected, but the internal parts are still functioning, the light is still working and the fan is still running but its having issues with being detectable when its plugged in, i dont know how water damaged the power port is but i hope there's a solution for it.
I have an avolusion 1 tb hard drive. And last night i finally recieved it in the mail and plugged it in. Upon plugging it in. The light started blinking on the drive. Which itsnstill doing upon plugging it in, but i figured it was okay since it was still working..then last night. I moved destiny 2 over to the drive. And after that started some games installing and then shut off the xbox . Upon turning it back on. It wont find or connect to the storage device. And still will not. I tried power cycling, restarting multiple times, all the usb ports, and unplugging the main cable from the storage device and replugging it back in. To no appail.
I am having the same problem
