  • On this week’s podcast, it’s time for the February 10 20 30 40, where Dan and Kris discuss notable game releases from 10, 20, 30, and 40 years ago. February may not be the biggest month in gaming, but there were a couple of platforms that made the best of it with releases like Metroid: Zero Mission, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Sparkster, and more. But weirdly enough, no Atari 2600 games? Of course, they kinda had to blow through the feature topic segment because they spent so much time talking during the first part of the show, but sometimes that’s just the way things go, right?
At the top of the show, Kris has more dental issues which were “solved” quickly and painfully. Dentistry is awesome! Plus, did you know Dan still has too many dogs? There was also a way-too-long and incredibly nerdy discussion of the state of the MCU that no doubt went on for far longer than anyone wants to listen to. You have our apologies, but Dan and Kris are colossal nerds. There’s really nothing they can do about it. Also, Kris beat Advance Wars and played more Metal Gear, while Dan tried to play Karate Kid in preparation for next month’s Soup-er Series.
In Week Old News, Dan brought a super annoying Smash JT video to our attention where he called out Pat the NES Punk’s SCANDALOUS SCAM that proves he’s a TERRIBLE HYPOCRITE OUT TO STEAL YOUR MONEY! So really, there’s not an ounce of hyperbole in this one, and it’s definitely worth the time and energy to listen to. There was also a NintendoDirect to go through, complete with impressions on Contra: Operation Galuga and Pepper Grinder, Nintendo is simultaneously doomed and the richest company in Japan, and more!

I definitely missed the mark with that Pat video and meant no ill-will toward other creators who use emulation to review games. I clarified in a follow-up video that the main point was to hold Pat accountable to his own standards. It was extremely hypocritical to attack Brett Weiss for 'not paying his writers' and then turn around and write a 'complete N64 book' using emulation and not being forthcoming to potential customers about how he gathered reviews. I appreciate your feedback and will try to be better moving forward. Happy to hop on a podcast or whatever to discuss further in the future if you had any interest, hit me up here or Twitter. Otherwise, I appreciate you covering it and giving your thoughts on the situation. Thanks!

Well hey, thanks for listening, and I appreciate you taking the time to comment. Your point is taken, but I have to ask, how on earth did you even find out about our show? We’re pretty small potatoes by comparison.
Also, sorry we called your video super annoying. Regardless of how we feel, there’s no need to be impolite.

@@stoneagegamer no worries at all. I totally get it! I’ve had much worse tossed at me in my own comment section 😂 your video showed up on my YT homepage. I guess thank the almighty algorithm. I watch a lot of smaller channels and give everyone the time of day. I feel like everyone has a valid opinion and right to their own stance. I was surprised that I came up in this tbh… but was listing on my jog with my dog (I look for longer videos to listen to when I go out) and made a mental note to write a comment when I got back home. Anywho I’m rambling now - thanks again for the insight and reply. I try my best to take it all in and be a better person. I’m far from perfect haha

Genuinely astounded that the TH-cam algorithm was helpful to us in some way! We’ve been at this for dang near a decade and well, our reach remains painfully small. Anyway, thanks for the input. That’s a good attitude to have. All any of us can do is try and be better. Have a good day, and thanks for listening!
