It's pretty good. They just need to re add content that they left out the first one, build upon it and it will be all star status.
As a veteran of Helldivers 1, seeing how they've flawlessly translated the mechanics of a couch co-op two-stick shooter to a third person shooter has been amazing -- and on top of that, they've deepened the intricacies of how the war works. I still can't believe it's real. THIS is how you make a sequel.
Yep, I was skeptical at first but the work they've put is INSANE. I was blown away seeing the gameplay. The only downside is my pc don't run it and no splitscreen. I'll miss playing with my brothers

There’s an auto canon with a similar mechanic.
Except you can fire it fully auto and with a loader blow through like fourty rounds in five seconds.
Yeah some of the weapons really just eat up ammo in no time. The auto shotguns are really bad in that regard too. @@IoFoxdale
There's also a TOW missile that works like that and possibly more to come
The bugs are fun, but when you're in a higher difficulty robot fight, holy crap dude. it feels like the star wars game i've always wanted. Lasers flying everywhere, explosions, tanks, BIGGER EXPLOSIONS. And not only that, they also look like terminators and i swear to god they programmed the ai to stand on rocks in heroic poses when explosions are going off because the amount of times we were ambushed by robots and had them looking down at us from a ridge, with a high caliber barrage going off behind them is really freakin high. And we loved every second of it.
Dude, they have literal clone wars era walkers. Its just straight up star wars when fighting Automatons, no like about it. The tanks can be so hard to kill if not properly ambushed and that makes Large Outposts just that much more fun to assaults
Can't wait for the psychic/psionic faction to show up (don't know if they still around, but the galactic south is suspiciously clear of them)

I managed to do a challenging mission with my buddy. Wasn’t easy but, we were level 3 and got in and out alive 😂
As a heads up, when aiming, if you click the mouse wheel while aiming you can aim in first person and it makes distance shots easier. Plus holding R allows you to change fire rate, scope zoom, flashlight, rate of fire,...

@@OperatorDrewski Yea, hold R to bring up the menu, scroll wheel-down changes options on the bottom, scroll-wheel up changes the top option, and right-click to change fire mode if you can.
I found out you can set your rail gun From "safe" to "unsafe" i havent found out what happens if your not lucky with it lol

It's crazy that there's even a day night cycle for the missions. Absolutely uneccesary but they did it anyway. Another amazing detail they put in is that in mission, you can see all the player's main ships in orbit with them, but what's cool is that depending whose strategem is being thrown, it actually comes from the player's own ship and not just the host.

Did you read past the first sentence? These are self-contained biomes with short missions that most triple A devs won't even bother coding day night cycles. They did it anyway. Which is why I said absolutely unnecessary.

As someone who played over 3000 hrs of Warframe and 1000 hrs of DRG, Helldivers 2 is the best co-op game I’ve ever played. Soooo many funny and organic moments. This is the first game I’ve genuinely felt sorry for people that don’t have 3 good friends to reliably play with.
I mean I have been having fun with randos as well. I am sure it is better in a proper team but still plenty fun "solo".
Playing this with my old raid buddies from destiny 1 is a blast
Yeah its a great Game, have over 1000 hrs in DRG to, its not better than DRG its just a little different, but they need to fix the multiplayer connection issue as soon as possible in Helldivers 2.

I ran a mission that increased orbital stratagem variance by 50% - so every orbital call-in was a gamble for whether you got lambasted by a stray round (Drewski's Luck Mode).
I got my first one of those last night... it wasn't good, but it was too much fun.
I LOVE this game so freaking much. Easiest 40 bucks I've spent on a game in a long while. Props to the developers, you can tell the love was there in this one.

With the SEAF Artillery outpost, there's a small chance a mini nuke shell spawns, and I found out its blast radius is "you see the mountain? I don't want to see it anymore."

might be the most fun i've ever had in a co-op shooter. it's up there with Left 4 Dead, GoW horde mode, early destiny. just so unbelievably fun.
You could also put cod zombies and halo reach firefight. I still play those today with the rest.

nice detail: The Bullet Casings did not vanish. makes it more emersive and tell stories where you held your ground because there is a pile of spent bullets and mags
Me and a friend were getting slaughtered by tyranids, and after the timer ran out, we couldn't reinforce. We DID make it out! But it was horrifying.

Had 1 game I was the last man standing holding all the samples injured, surrounded and just managed to dive into the ship.
Such a good game glad I picked it up and went with the super citizen version, the devs deserve it. Slipping while running on ice, animations for reload, explosions, gunplay, all just brilliant.
@fishmo_mofish honestly. I recently had an evacuation that rivaled actually films.
We just destroyed a bunch of eggs and were running from the HORDE that followed us from the nest. One of my partners (who recently set up the big gun with mini nukes) called in the evac because he was already there before us. He tosses a 120 HE, and I dive for cover, hoping not to be killed instantly. *explosions followed by the screams of those wretched bugs*
One of my friends calls in an orbital strike and kills a charger with it, sending it'd body right past me. I'm over here focused on mowing down the horde when the evac is suddenly at 30 seconds left. We call in a gattling turret and another 120 and watch democracy do its part.
After that, it's back to the chaos, and we finally decide to call in the mini nuke with 5 seconds left 'till evac. Seems pretty self-explanatory after that; sick ass explosion as we finally get out of that horrible mission with everybody (somehow) alive.

So many streamers are playing this and seem to be lovin it. The explosions are amazing as is the music. Looks a lot of fun

Camping on a ridge with an LMG and providing covering fire for my squadmates while they grenade bug nests was the most fun I've had in a while in a multi-player game
Getting mechs soon in one of the next updates. I hope so badly that they give us more vehicles!!

This is one of the best games ever made, it's exactly what I've wanted for years. I'm glad it's good.

I don't know if you discovered it later or if you're friends already know but you can keep the last bullet of a mag in the chamber and reload which allows you to skip the racking part.
I was wondering how much they got into those mechanics.
I knew sometimes I would interrupt a reload with some bug avoidance stuff and later pick up reloading where I left off.
You just have to experience this game on PC or PS5 with a DualSense controller.
Nothing gets you immersed more than the HD Rumble during massive explosions, or feeling the haptic triggers vibrate while destroying a horde with a Machine Gun.
It’s so nice the devs added support in, unlike Capcom who still haven’t done it for RE4remake on PC.
The haptic feedback is a gimmick and everybody knows it.
Always feel like I'm gonna break it.
And it wears down the batteries like crazy.

Man Drewskii, I just got a VR headset for VTOL, which I love, now you got me wanting to jump into this.
I really like the circle reticle that really shows exactly where the bullet will go while not being tied to the camera. It really makes "random" bullet spread more predictable. Also the buddy reload system is very cool and has a lot of potential in other games! Imagine a milsim game where the mg needs a squad mate to reload faster.
It is a genius system and I'm surprised nobody else thought of that first. Basically a red dot laser that shows where the barrel is pointed without the red dot.
@@rikkubeans Right! The closest thing we have i think is that bullet spread assistant in CS2 that moves the crosshair exactly where the bullet will go.

Honestly, halo ODST was the biggest letdown of my childhood.
I'm glad DRG came out and healed the wound.

This is THE FUNNEST time I’ve had with friends since I was a child! Hands down the funnest game I’ve probably ever played maybe something in the ps3 as a child came close. Maybe. Even watching your video had me dying with laughter the game is just fkn fun! It’s so good! So epic, cinematic, I literally feels like we’re in a big epic space movie every game we play!

I love at 4:15 the bug was bugged out but you still used a gameplay mechanic to be able to progress instead of the thing just not being able to be completed. Top game design for the win.

I recommend playing Insurgency: Sandstorm, amazing gunplay and sound design. The gunshots are very well done, punchy and realistic. Explosions are fantastic as well; being mortared or having an RPG explode next to you is terrifying and often makes me instinctively hunch down in my chair or flinch even though I'm perfectly safe IRL, haha.
I think you guys have the best mix of fun & serious. This is the kind of group I wish I had.

Thanks for the video. I really enjoyed the first Hell Divers game, managing to do most of the content in 2 player co-op in about 30 or so hours played (though not unlocking it all).
This one looks like a better presented game in many ways, though I am worried about a relative lack of content in comparison.
Still - the gameplay looks improved, so it might be worth it anyway. It's rare to get a truly good co-op action shooter these days.
The amount pf attention to detail and small cool features in this game like you can keep the last bullet in the chamber to skip to the racking animation is ludicrous.
Oh man I hadn't thought to look up, I didn't realize the eagle pops flares after it does a run, that's a cool detail

HD2 checks the criteria deserving of being a succesor of the horde shooter genre. Being fun, engaging, how essential team play is, gameplay variety and the dopamine inducing character progression rewarding of tools in eradicating bugs, in a way it's a power fantasy and satisfying that sums up its gameplay loop. in addition with the Starship Trooper satire B-comedy 😂👌.
tho the crashes reminds me of early Vermintide days in my case tolerable since the season pass isn't intrusive or FOMO.
the mini-games are a welcome one in performing task w/ how chaotic the game is surrounded by bugs 😂.

The detail of your ship in orbit sending down ordance is beautiful.
If you hold down □ or reload button, you can adjust weapon range, rate of fire, and switch between full auto/semi auto
Been playing this game alot. Didn't know about the eagles rearm
They automatically rearm when they're all used up anyway, the rearm is just a tactical choice. Like rearming just before you know you're facing a bile titan or one of the big bosses.
You can force a first person ADS with all weapons, a dedicated first person view would be amazing though

@@areyou0k98 Not really from the ground up, for instance PUBG which started out with third person only, its first person not only good but its changeable to third person on a whim. It dosen't need to be designed from the ground up, several other games are existing evidence of this
Crazy Tip/Feature! Holding reload button allows you to change functions on weapons like fire rates, sights, and coolest to me is rpm on LMGs.

I Played it by myself and i thought "not againg a coop extraction shooter with copy paste assets" but i saw one video and buyed it instantly... THE immersion JESUS christ. I never experienced such a real and extrem immersiv feeling of being an actual Space Vagabond "helldiver" i mean litteraly everything EVERY Bullet you shot at Bugs "Enemys" feels so satisfying, and the Explosions... HOLLY NAME OF GAMES how brutal it looks, feels and SOUNDS!!! Just ignore my bad Englisch and Play it by yourself! You Wont regret it!

Hell yeah! First couple of days after launch were rough, but I haven’t crashed in several hours now and am absolutely loving it. When the game is working, it’s FANTASTIC. And can be extremely chaotic

Also, it helps callouts if you turn on ordinal directions on your compasses in settings. Really should be default. I also play with a setting I like, although I forget which one it is. On PC, set aim mode to hold, remember aim type to pet weapon, and the last setting makes single-tapping the R-mouse button ADS first person, holding ADS 3rd person.

This game has one of the most predatory anti cheats in existence. It can actively read and modify every file on your hard drive and send any aspect of that data to the publishers.

They did such an incredible job with the bullet animation impacting the armor of the bugs. God that is crispy

If you think the game is simple you clearly haven't played it.
This has more depth than every AAA shooter on the market.
It looks simple in a video, but when you play it, it's not. There a lot of ammo management, stratagems strategy, player positioning and even time management.

Just got Helldive difficulty. Can't wait to fight more than 2 bile titans, 8 chargers, 2 stalkers, and more than 50 other bugs of varied sizes next!
