    The 70's and 80's were the golden age of the NFL. Now, it is just like watching a video game.

    This is awesome!! Thanks so much for posting this game!! I love Giants games and 49ers games at Candlestick Park, victories of course for both the Giants and the 49ers, hahaha, and especially from the 1980's 🧡🖤🧡🖤❤️💛❤️💛⚾⚾⚾⚾🏈🏈🏈🏈🍿🍿🍿🍿

    Super Bowl bound 49ers during this season.
    Archie Manning was probably sacked more times than any other QB during his career. Not his fault, but just the lack of protection.
    Sadly play by play caller Frank Glieber died of a heart attack less than five months after this game. He was 51.

    Seeing Archie Manning in anything but a Saints uniform is surreal

      Archie was just roadkill on the front end of the 49er dynasty

      I miss that place too!
      Found a picture of me and my now deceased mother taken at the Forty Niner's preseason open house in 1973 that she took me to.
      One thing that I still miss about Candlestick are the Schwartz hot dogs with Gulden's spicy brown mustard.

      @Jason Manning
      You're welcome!
      "Somebody's gotta remember"
      Hey! I got another one;
      Remember the famous 1971 photo of Mays and Bonds colliding at the fence in right center?
      I WAS THERE!!!
      My very first Giant's game.
      I was up from Los Angeles visiting my future Godparents and their friend took me that day because I was in love with the Giant's and everything San Francisco.
      The collision with Mays catching the ball ended up being on the cover of the next season's programs and by then we had moved back to SF.
      I had it taped to my bedroom wall.

      Ha ha!
      You know, it didn't mean much to me at the time, but Mays was da%n near 40 years of age then...
      OK, how about in 1985, Forty Niners hosting the Cowboys, again I was up visiting from SoCal where I was going to school after serving in the armed forces, and that day in the park, Roger Craig SET the 1000x1000 rushing & receiving record.

    Did the Saints actually drop Archie Manning for Bobby Herbert or Richard Todd?

      Saints signed Ken Stabler in 1982 offseason, then traded Archie Manning in September to Houston Oilers. Richard Todd would end up replacing Ken Stabler as the starter in 1984. Bibb Hebert would sign with Saints from the USFL in 1985.

    Lol, they rarely showed the score back then. I moved to the end of the video and thought the Vikings had a chance to score a game winning touchdown.

      Hahahaha...really?
      Were you alive in 1984? 19 year old me, and my best friend would play cards with 2 radios on
      Giants and As ....49ers and any other game....Warriors and Celtics
      The 80s were great
      I was doubly fortunate...
      I was a Fighting Irish fan so I had watched Montana before he became a 49er

    51-7 49ers. They were killers.
