    All animals are 10x cute when drinking: Snakes, scorpions, dogs, everything!

      If you look closely on pandinus, javametrus and heterometrus species.. you will see brush like organ between their chalicerae. I never see any noticeable organs even in larger buthid family like parabuthus

    The yellow back is probably my favourite, I'd personally not own one as I'm a reptile guy through and through, but it doesn't stop me admiring them through your channel! Great content as always Dayyan, good luck with your upcoming projects, much love from Ryan Osborne Reptiles! ✌️
    Edit. I spoke too soon, in an ideal world, I'd have a vinegaroon. Yes! A true marvel of nature!

      It was so interesting to see a scorpion drink water. My favorite was the yellow leg scorpion. Love a feeding video. It was nice to see them sting their meal. The vinegaroon was interesting. The one with the whip. I would name Whip Lash. Love all of your videos.❤🐸🦎🐍🦂🕷. Cindy

    Awesome new addition! I would love some phrynis marginemacularus one day, apparently they are moderately communal! I also love my hot scorps, out of the three hottentotta is my favorite but my favorites are parabuthus 😊 but as you said it's not for everyone, and needs to be respected. Never handle with your bare hands and always use tongs for maintenance.

    Great video as always! Could u also film a scorpions care guide / video? That d be great for the ones of us who never tried with them because of the little knowledge around the topic!

    Now I understand why your scorpions eat so easily on camera, you don’t feed them beforehand. Heterometrus are my favorites, but Pandinus are less known and interesting too. I always treated Heterometrus as communal with no problems. They would make a better display this way too. I kept Damon diadema in the past, but I had failures. Care information isn’t as readily available and consistent though.

      Then again, there are few additional factors (in my opinion)
      1. Female will eat more than males (although sometimes my males javametrus and heterometrus will overeat)
      2. Flashing light
      3. Jumscared by the meal
      4. Personality of each scorpions (i have 4 years old female c. Gracillis and to this day she always refuse tong-fed)

    I don’t have any scorpions. However, I was born and raised in rural subtropical Mexico and scorpions were everywhere. I would be in bed and howl for my grandma because there was a scorpion hanging in the rafter. She would quickly knock it down with a broom and step on it. Sad, I know. Now, as an adult, I go to great lengths to gently move all critters to a safe place, especially spiders. I do have an amazing picture of a black widow catching and killing a scorpion. This was Covid year at an elementary school where I teach and animals were left alone to live their lives.

    I adore my Phrynus whitei Nightmare. Such an interesting animal. Not shy about eating in front of me or on camera either which a lot of tailless whip scorpions are. I love the little white spots on their carapace too, they are starting to turn red on mine now. I have had it about 1.5 years. Congrats on the new addition! I just got some new additions earlier this week, 2 Heterometrus spinifer a HUGE male and a pregnant female. I'm super excited about Asian Forest Scorpion babies! My jumping spider just had babies that are about to leave the sac and my Nicaraguan curly hair is about to drop a sac too so it's exciting times in my pet room!
    You will really enjoy the Phrynus whitei. I would love to see an in-depth care video on this species since there isn't all that much information about this species out there. I know I personally would appreciate it lol, I want to be sure my little Nightmare is being kept in the most ideal conditions.

    I actually just bought a scorpion. It should be here in 2 days, but after doing some research....I chose none of those. I got a liocheles australasiae or dwarf wood scorpion. Its small, communal, parthenogenetic, and not medically significant. But most importantly... I like the tiny little "tails" they curl up like cinnamon rolls sideways a lot of the time. So hopefully one day I'll have lots

    A name… The cool white spots remind me of stars. Venus or Ishtar for female. Maybe Tarik/Tariq for male, which is the Arabic name for the astronomical morning star (planet Venus). My favorite is Hoshiko, Japanese for star, used for both genders. Maybe shortened to Hoshi.

    Hey hive mind! what would y’all recommend for a first invertebrate? I have 4 months experience with a ball python and I’m looking to expand my horizons. Preferably something longer lived, 3+ years, and eats not-crickets, unless there’s a secret to keeping them quiet 😅 Appreciate any advice!

    • @SpiderFan3000
      @SpiderFan3000 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Most spiders don't technically need crickets to survive. Flightless fruit flies for slings, mealworms, dubia (or discoid if ur in Canada) roaches, superworms, and horn worms (as a treat) should be fine. There are a lot of tarantulas that live in the 5-10 year range if you're not into a 20 year commitment lol. Care is usually pretty straight forward too. And (bonus) they are very cute 🕷

    • @Reptiliatus

      Not necessarily. Some species do live in caves, however I think this one is commonly found moving across large free trunks at night hunting and will likely retreat to hollows, roots, etc at dawn.

    If you don't know if your animal is male or female, "it" is the correct word, not "they"

    • @alphacentauri1778

      @@SpiderFan3000 "it" is singular, "they" is plural.

    • @alphacentauri1778
      @alphacentauri1778 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @annam8803 There is no confusion or any need for your condescending, faux-intillectual racist undertones. I'm American born and raised, and english is my first language. People have referred to animals as "it" since forever. Generally, in English, people still use he or she even if it isn't known if the person or animal is male or female. "They" can be used singularly in order to not give too much info in, for example, an anecdote, though probably not used as much anymore. That is an exception, the rule is "they" is plural, and dion's use is not an exception.

  • @chrissommers1512

    • @Reptiliatus
      @Reptiliatus  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I use “they” because “it” sounds like an object as opposed to a living being. If I know the animals sex I just say “he/she”. Pretty well only say this with unsexed/babies. Perhaps I'll just go back to saying “it”.
