John Farnham & Jimmy Barnes are Aussie treasures. John had been entertaining us with his incredible vocals since the 60's. The guitarist is Johnny Diesel, also a very talented artist in his own right. He is also Jimmy's Brother in Law. We have been musically, blessed here in Australia.
Absolutely luuved your reaction to this one. Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham have been a staple music diet to us Kiwis here in New Zealand forever. So happy you found them. Now look up the live version of this song and the John's version of the Beatles song HELP....You won't regret.
The boys tear apart this old Sam n Dave song. The guitar is a Gibson gold top with ceramic pickups, probably mid-50s unless it's a re-issue. The guitarist is Mark Lizotte (Johnny Diesel, Diesel). Barnsey's brother in law and a fine singer, recording artist in his own right. It's worth checking all of them out, especially Farnham's live concerts - energy plus.
This is an EXTREMELY DEEP rabbit hole you've found with both Jimmy Barnes (lead singer of Cold Chisel) and John Farnham, two of the best vocalists in the world in many people's opinions. Mark Lizotte/Johnny Diesel (guitarist) is also a very good singer and performer. You will boost your channel with these three performers for sure.
Hi. Watch John Farnham live with the the Melbourne symphony orchestra singing help, and your the voice and amazing grace and in 2003 singing angles. There is heaps more you will love
You've just been introduced to THE John Farnham, better known as "The Voice" in Australia. With a vocal range from A2 to G5, and incredible versatility and interpretive ability, John can sing just about anything. You should always watch John LIVE in performance as he has wonderful charisma and energy. Check him out singing "Playing To Win," with his band, backing vocalists and The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra LIVE.
Thanks for appreciating 3 of the most musically talented Australians ever! Hope to see more- and always choose live versions as these guys perform even better live !
These guys are Aussie legends. Now that you’ve discovered John Farnham you’ve just gotta listen to Help with the MSO (Melbourne Symphony Orchestra). It’ll blow your mind😊.
Johnny Diesel also goes by the name of Mark Lizotte, his given name actually. And I just learned he was born in the US! I had no idea, Massachusetts in fact. Another Aussie brother (or sister), from another mother... country.
Nice to see you enjoy our Aussie talent. It's a rabbit hole that is deep & wide. I'm sure you won't regret diving in if you choose to. You will also pick up an army of subscribers from down under if you do 🤣🤣
There is an alternative version with the 3 boys filmed live on Hey, Hey It's Saturday, (look for the stuffed ostrich). They are more ad lib and I think the guitar solo is a little longer and freer, Deisel gets to sing more & there's a small musical variance to finish with. I think you'd probably enjoy it. Cheers.
In case no one has already mentioned Jimmy was the lead vocal in Cold Chisel ,legends in Aussie Rock, John Farnham (pronounced Farn um) is a soloist known as the Voice ,for obvious reasons.
Barnsey, Farnsey & Diesel all together. Legends. Soul, heart, passion, talent & skills. Australia has so many great artists for you to react to. Always listen to John Farnham live as he has such an awesome stage presence. Back in the day it wasn't always 'cool' to like John Farnham as he was in his younger days a King Of Pop' but he has an amazing voice & absolutely awesome range & those growls. I certainly appreciate him much more after listening to many reactors who know about music. And I'd say Jimmy Barnes probably knows a fair bit about singing & drinking & whisky 😀. His voice only gets better with time. & Diesel is an artist here in his own right. He's touring at the moment. Great reaction.
Monty, I was shocked by your reaction to John Farnham 🤣 Yes that Man is the second best ever Male Singer Popular of all time Your reaction said to me the moment you heard him sing I know you must be muso like me . On ya mate Tony
The guitarist is Johnny Diesel he is Jimmy Barnes's brother in law. And was lead guitarist and lead singer of his own band Johnny Diesel and the injectors. If you want more of him too try Crying shame, I've been loving you for so long or Tip of my Tounge. He does a lot of stuff with Jimmy so just look up Jimmy Barns and Diesel and take you're pick they are all Awsom.
Looking forward to you stumbling across Jimmy Barnes sing 'Stone Cold' with Joe Bonamassa on guitar. The soul from that will blow you into a different stratosphere!
Monty, Mate! Its good your listening to Aussie Rock, its a shame you didn’t have the best of both Worlds in your teen years, as for us we Rocked to the best of All Worlds, but Aussie Rock was, is, and always will be the greatest. Also I think the guitarist is Johnny Diesel, hes Jimmys Bro-inlaw, he had a band in the late 80s Johnny Diesel and the Injectors, he was an American import to Aussie Rock.
Between these 3 guys they would have at least 20 of those “Great Australian Songbook Standards” indelibly stamped on the Australian Psyche , the sort of stuff that are anthems of the soul.
This version of this song is from the Soul Deep album, which is a Jimmy Barnes album of songs originally done by American Blues/Soul artists. He later put out another cover album called Soul Deeper. Jimmy is so into Soul music that he named his first Mahalia after Mahalia Jackson.
The guitarist is called 'Diesel' and a musician in his own rights. These 3... John Farnham, Jimmy Barnes and Diesel are spotlighting as some of Australians best
Please check out wild thing , when the war is over or khe sanh live by cold chisel as jimmy Barnes is the lead singer for them. You won’t regret it !! Raw power at its best !!!
Yes the guitar is a Gibson Gold Top with P-90's pickups Jimmy and John are still preforming to this day John headlined a concert in late January this year and Jimmy released a new album early 2022 and has been touring Australia and the UK and I think he will also be in the states too
Nice reaction brother👍✌️ All 3 are Aussie music legends ♥️🤘 You GOTTA check out John Farnham(far num) & his LIVE cover (with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra) & the Beatles hit..HELP. Amazing stuff😮😯😲♥️ Check Any Jimmy Barnes out..& Diesel/Johnny Diesel & the Injectors ..aka Mark Lizotte.
You pretty much can't go wrong with either John or Jimmy - they're both brilliant, both fantastic live and really anything you find will be pretty damn good. My favourite John songs are probably That's Freedom (the live 1990 performance) and Black Dog (his Zeppelin cover recorded at a soundcheck in the 90s) and my favourite Jimmy songs are Driving Wheels (the live 1988 performance) and Stone Cold (the newer bluesy version featuring Joe Bonamassa on guitar). They're all here on youtube: th-cam.com/video/JWjtlMBl3Xo/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/F2Yi6TVi-sU/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/oBXwzqWdbrs/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/IyXFHr5jylI/w-d-xo.html
Check out Marcus King (Southern blues, rock, country) singing Can't You See with Gov"t Mule or Marcus singing Wildflowers and Wine, Beautiful Stranger, Goodbye Carolina, Guitar in my Hand. He's from my state of South Carolina.
There are a couple of live videos of these guys and they sound exactly the same - actually I prefer them all live. Don't overlook Diesel [Mark Lizotte on guitar] as a solo artist, too.
Sorry, I just realised something. So Jimmy was born in Scotland, John in England, and Mark in America. But that's Australia for you, aye. I'm a mongrel too.
Gotta do live versons of Farnsy n barnsy cuz. Believe it or not, they are better live. Studio versions are restricted in colour n x-factor n sound/visual
Loved this reaction. Jimmy is a legend. And you've had your first little taste of John Farnham. I've now subscribed. This is a g old one one to start you on a farnham journey. m.th-cam.com/video/6m2m_9Uijso/w-d-xo.html Please also more Jimmy Barnes and Diesel...
You did a great reaction of Sissel Kyrkjebø performing "You'll Never Walk Alone" recently. Yesterday she performed an amazing version of "Bridge Over Troubled Water" by Simon & Garfunkel at a support concert for the victims of the war in Ukraine. Hope you will react to her performance. th-cam.com/video/KaT4n3USi_A/w-d-xo.html
This is the bad version of the song the live version is the one you need to watch it is always better with the real instruments rather than recorded. The guitarist Johnny Diesel is more prominent in the live performance as well.
@@rickandersen2284 what I mean by bad version is when you here an awesome song and then you here a cover version of the song and you feel let down that's what I was trying to say.
This is back when men sang Masculine unlike today with their wimpy autotune voices and computer generated music. Back in my day young girls and women use to drool over real men but today they just vomit .

Diesel is Jimmy's brother in law. They married sisters. Jimmy's children are also some of best musicians and vocalists in Australian music.
Always do these guys live if you can, same goes for most Australian musicians.
John farnhams voice is flawless, and he has a great sense of humour, he is a very funny bloke.
