    Too much calories. I get it's pre workout meal but honestly, here in Sweden you can buy a 200g protein chocolate pudding cup with just 72kcal per 100g. The whole cup contains 3g carbs and 21g protein. It taste even better than regular pudding even.

    Ohhh, almost forgot, for anyone purchasing jello packets and adding protein to the recipe for protein pudding, only real milk(any % of fat content, Personally I use skim. If you try to do so with almond, coconut, or any other milks it will not set regardless of time spent in the refrigerator.So glad you did this video Derek. I'm just a bit surprised of the 500+ calories in that little bowl!

    • @shadowlynx6117
      @shadowlynx6117 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can always make a large batch and spread it in say 7 different containers and freeze them. So for the next day, just the night prior, take one out of the freezer and put it in the fridge and it will be ready for next day. I am no expert, but most foods you can do this with. That will save time. I will try it myself and see how it goes.

      Its 15-30 minutes for the caffeine depending on how fast you metabolize it, but i was wondering about the stomach. Depending on the food some things effect people differently at the gym.

    First of all, I would like to say thank you for all the great videos and recipe's. I am very happy that I had found your channel and I enjoy making foods you have posted on your channel to incorporate in to my nutritional weekly plans, etc.
    I have a quest for you Chef Howes or anyone else on the comment board who truly knows or had experience. I am a beginner bodybuilder, I take a protein shake and then 1hr later, I will drink a pre workout energy drink like { no xplode or juggernaut or c4 cellucor, etc} and then I hit the gym and It works great. I did research and it says that I should not take an energy pre workout drink together with a protein drink because the nutrients or whatever cancel each other out or whatever, so I have to balance the shake and then 1hr or such later energy drink before gym. Aside from eating 15minute before the gym a small turkey meat or alike and drinking an energy pre shake, isnt there a protein i can take with the energy drink at the same time??? Or any advice. Thanks in advance.

    • @TheProteinChef
      @TheProteinChef  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shadow Lynx I'm a bit confused! Could you link to me where it says the nutrients will cancel each other out? You should be fine

    • @shadowlynx6117
      @shadowlynx6117 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chef, I tried to find the info and I cannot remember where I seen it. In general, the pre workout no xplode or alike says take on empty stomach. If i can try and recall, it said that the extra stuff in pre energy workout like no xplode will interfere with stuff in a protein drink together. I dont know the exact stuff. But like BCAA and whatever will cancel out the creatine in the protein shake and this and that. I dont know. I will try the 2tspn of instant coffee in that pudding recepi you have tomorrow and see if i get the energy. If that works, then screw those no xplodes etc. If not, i will need to find a pre energy drink that will mix good with protein prior. What i do like is the amino acid feeling or burning in the face and body so i know it works and feels great while working out. Gives me that xtra push. maybe just add some BCAA powder to protien shake for same effect. All your recipes are so good, they are just expenisive kind of to make. So i make 1 or 2 new ones per week and see how i like it. Love your channel.

    • @shadowlynx6117
      @shadowlynx6117 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      It said something like, N02 nitric oxide take on empty smomach and then 30 min later i can take protien shake. But not together. Something like that.

  • @bennets3889
    @bennets3889 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    I am not trying to sound like a hater but fat free cottage cheese, cocoa powder, and almond milk pre workout? yikes. fat free cottage cheese is loaded with added in sugars to fill back up for the missing fats. cocoa powder is heavy in fiber, and almond milk has fats
    sugar, fat, and fiber, the three things you don't want pre workout.
    love your videos. this looks good. i would go for it in the morning when i wake up!

    • @shadowlynx6117
      @shadowlynx6117 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with him and you. I would say , try It and see how it goes. I just drink a 200cal 1 scoop protein shake prior to hitting the gym. So i will give this a shot since it looks yummy and its a pre workout and has more cals etc so that will add more to the calories i need per day,maybe skip a nasty brown rice 300 calorie 1 cup and use this instead. I dont know.

    • @TheProteinChef
      @TheProteinChef  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bennet S Hey Bennet! I first want to thank you for your support! This has been a pre-workout staple of mine for awhile (which is why I posted it) and though I understand your reasonings on not wanting simple sugar, fats, and fiber before a workout there are plenty of people that can eat them and be fine, it's really all about how sensitive your stomach is. I guess at the end of the day it just depends on how you react, if anything else this is just great for a nice boost during the day!

    • @jorgenfrisch2226
      @jorgenfrisch2226 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dowgla Insaahn bro, you should eat 1500 MG of sodium per day. So if your regular diet doesn’t include that much sodium to begin with you are all good. And btw its proven that sodium really isn’t that bad for regular people as we thought
