      That saying is so not true. What makes a mind "great" is its ability to think in ways that others don't. If everyone thought alike, "great minds" wouldn't exist. Great minds may often eventually reach the same conclusions, but their thought processes in getting there are usually completely different.

    The fact that Amber, an obvious homicidal sociopath, is now free, is actually terrifying.
    She had no remorse about the victim and no regret about the crime, she only cried because she got caught. Her description of the events was entirely cold, emotionless. She only showed emotion regarding herself and her predicament. That's truly scary to me.
    That woman is a danger to everyone around her and she will be for as long as she's free. Honestly, there needs to be some kind of public register for people to check when it comes to murderers like her. People should know that someone like this is living in their community.

    This District Attorneys office and police department really fucked this up. They know he didn't get down there himself. They know he was shot with the gun that was left with him. They know he didn't shoot himself. They know BOTH of these women were the last to see him. They know that they never went back because of cameras footage. He wasn't reported missing for days after. They had text messages between the two that showed she did not give a shit. Amber knowingly did nothing to stop this. She should have never have gotten that kind of deal. She should not have offered less than 15 years. They needed her testimony but she would have given it. 8 months of a 3 year deal is a joke. This is why you have people who kill other get released and do it again and sometimes a 3rd time. Arthur Shawcross is a perfect example.

    • @maddieb.4282
      @maddieb.4282 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know you’re not a lawyer because if you were you’d recognize how weak those pieces of circumstantial evidence are. If both women had shut up and not talked they would have never been able to prove either of them committed any crime beyond a reasonable doubt in court. Then nobody gets ANY punishment or accountability. Sometimes in criminal law you have to sacrifice to get what you need and the system certainly isn’t perfect

    • @Heathcoatman
      @Heathcoatman ปีที่แล้ว +29

      @@gardensofthegods Many many times have I interacted with them. It's tough to describe, and is certainly more subtle than the movies or TV shows. It's not Deliverence. It's also been 25 years but a couple of examples are: The house I lived in had bullet holes throughout. Everywhere. Apparently the guy who owned this house used to get drunk and just fire his guns in the house. He went to prison for many offenses, including beating his wife, shooting at the police when they came to question him, and a bunch of other stuff, cant really remember. To pay for his legal fees he sold the house, his truck and farm equipment. I worked on this farm and sometimes drove his old truck to town for supplies, etc. The townsfolk would look at me like I was a monster for driving this poor, misunderstood and downtrodden citizen's truck. He was a total dirtbag criminal who sold his truck but that's not how they saw it. Just weird, imo.
      One of the other guys who worked on this farm with me was a big baseball fan, and there wasnt much to do in your free time so he volunteered to be an umpire for the local little league chapter. Since there was only one team within 100 miles he would only umpire home games, about twice a month. At one of those games the opposing team showed up late. The excuse was that their bus driver never showed, so eventually the coach drove the kids. My friends told me the coach smelled so bad like booze you had to back away from him to breathe. He later complained to the league about this drunk coach/bus driver and the league let him go, saying they wouldnt need his umpiring skills anymore.
      Water is pretty scarce in some areas, and the property value of any piece of land is based almost entirely on water rights. People up there will go out in the middle of the night and redirect water to their own land. There have been serious feuds up there, and people have been shot and shot at often over these little trickles of a stream. I get how important the water is, but these people are like Hatfield and McCoy level crazy over this stuff. Covert ops/militia crazy.
      There really are no police up there. Sure if you live in a city like Medford or Klamath Falls, but you get in these more rural areas (There is one traffic light in the entirety of Modoc county) and everyone is their own law. If you called the police with a serious emergency, you'd be lucky if someone got there in 1 hour. 3 would be more reasonable. It's the wild west up there, especially when you are driving some anti-government hero's old truck.

    I think what would have tipped me off immediately, was her allowing her two VERY young children to appear on TV, yet she wouldn't🤔. Wouldn't you want your children to be protected from prying eyes? Those kids were way too young to consent to that.
    She probably also knew that she couldn't pull off the real emotion that one would expect from a loving spouse, who had just lost one of their most important people in the world and that is why she thought it was better to try and fake "emotion" in her voice than for people to see right through her. It is so much harder to fake genuine sadness and grief as it is visible on your face; not many people are skilled enough to get away with that.
    She probably also thought that by using the kids in the TV interviews, that people would focus more on them, than on what she was saying.....damn sneaky!!!
    Now your poor kids have no parents... let's give you the parent of the year award🙄!!!

They always make me smile, and I mostly listen as I go about my day but I drop everything when I hear that beat drop. I think you mean Amber, but if they had both stayed quiet and just denied…..there may not have had enough evidence for a conviction. They could have been acquitted on reasonable doubt if no one talked…It has happened.
      So it sucks, but sometimes to get an inside person to testify and to get the convictions, they have to entice one person to confess and tell the details by offering them a lighter sentence. Otherwise the suspects know their best and only chance is to just deny and they might getaway with it.
      And even if it was 3 years….still would not be enough.

      Stupid story on my fam:
      My younger brother looks 10 to 15 years younger than he is. Not so much an issue now he's 59, but when he first started as a financial advisor, he was 26 and, even though he was 6'4" tall, he looked like he was 15 or 16. _Certainly not old enough to advise you what to do with your money._ So, even though his vision was 20/20, he got wire framed glasses [with plain glass lenses] - & bleached his temples just a little. When his hair went from dark brown to salt-&-pepper at 35, he stopped wearing the glasses... And everyone asked if he would recommend Lasik surgery & was it painful. He finally had to cop to just using them to make himself "look more professional."
