I was in Hong Kong in Jan 2017 for a traditional Cantonese wedding and this video is bringing me back! I stayed in Causeway Bay and took the subway everywhere (still have the Octopus card). Definitely worth going down side streets and eating at the street food vendors, but I also had some great noodles. Thanks for making me remember that awesome experience.

Greetings from HK! The first place you go ( Shum Shui Po) is actually a slum in HK where mainlanders and immigrants live. The first dish you had is what underprivileged cook to pretend shark fin soups. In the second place, snake soup shop owners usually help policemen to catch snakes when they receive reports from citizens. Both dishes from first 2 places go good with vinegar and sesame oil. And Mike you should definitely try the brisket noodle soup too!
Next time when you're in Sham Sui Po, try Hop Yik Tai for the Chee Cheong Fun (Rice Noodle Rolls). We also tried that Black Sesame dessert, yours looks so thick! Definitely a dessert to share.
The snake soup warms you up really fast in winter.. these shops usually have very good sticky rice with dried sausage as well The way to differentiate the meat from chicken is that occasionally you will see the x shaped scale marks that is unique to a snake ^_^

9:35...So much better....I got a T&T grocery store in my neighbourhood, so I got a ton of choices for Chinese/Filipino/Japanese condiments. Then there's an H Mart and Galleria Korean stores close by too. But my stalwart has/is ...Tabasco, soy sauce and sesame oil. I put it on EVERYTHING!
